The manager and the rooms terrible stay have bed bugs family member of mine were bit smell like dogs water was shut off for long period of time without being notified toilets were stopped up

We have stayed at La Quinta several times in the past and always found it a good hotel which is the reason we booked it this time. They have elevated toilets, which I appreciate as I have problems with my knee.
The hotel has been completely redecorated. It is now very dark, stark and masculine. Not warm and welcoming.
The comforter had a spot of blood on it.

It was really close to the beach and shopping
The rooms need to be updated. The water pressure was horrible and the smell in the hallways smell like there were sewer issues

Room smelled bad.. Bed frames banged like gongs. You could even hear them from other rooms. At first I thought it was fireworks nearby.

First room bed sheets never changed. Had more hair in the bed and bathroom then I had on my head second bed was clean but bathroom same as first room.

I love the location because it was near local restaurants and shopping centers and close to the Big M Cruise Ship. That was the main reason why I wanted a hotel close by.
The hotel needed some upgrades or finish their upgrades. Other than that it was ok.

Location
We had no water for three of the five days. On the second night the water was off for 13 hours without warning. The third day we were told the water would be off from 11am-2pm and the water was actually off from 11am to 8:25pm. On the fourth day there was no water from the bathroom sink, after several complaint's the maintenance was able to fix the bathroom sink. We had a suite with a jacuzzi in the room and we could not use the jacuzzi for three of out 5 nights and we were only compensated for one night. The breakfast was terrible, the bed was not comfortable, the halls and room were not the cleanest and the elevator took forever. The staff member after 3pm was not knowledgeable or had any idea of what was going on at the hotel and he could not handle unhappy guest. The owner of this hotel is named Sanjay Mishra and he would not compromise or make this unhappy guest satisfied. Also they would not take our AARP discount after we complained of the poor conditions, very dissatisfied with this hotel.

We liked the mattress and the size of the room.
We had to move rooms because the lock on the door didn't work and the room we were moved into the ac unit made a disturbing noise throughout the night.
