It was great to have an entire house to ourselves with two bathrooms as opposed to having to rent two separate hotel rooms for our vacationing family. Everything was well-prepared for our arrival. Everything about the house was easy to understand and operate, and there were good notes about Wi-Fi and other things. It was a plus to have a washer and dryer included so that going into Day 6 of our 15-day vacation, we had all clean clothes to get us through the vacation.

If you wanted to, you could consider the location to be a negative, as it is 10 miles away from Talkeetna. However, it is easy to find (about 1/4 mile off the main highway), it is still easy to get to town, and it is closer to the main Alaska highway to get to Denali or Anchorage. Also, it is quiet and secluded if you want that for your family. So the location can be taken as a negative or a positive.

What a delightful place. The owners let us pick vegetables from their garden and left is with a bottle of wine. That, combined with a freshly caught salmon, made us feel like we were in Napa valley. Rustic Elegance indeed.

The house was cozy and there was a little bit of everything so we didn't have to run to the store or anything. Nice and clean; just a perfect home away from home.

It is a very wooded area and the mosquitos were pretty pesky.
