As I had just developed a sciatic nerve condition during my time in Alaska, I was provided with a wheelchair and constant shuttle buses between the lodge and our room location. We couldn't have picked a better location considering the sciatic nerve problem. We arrived the day before the hotel shut down for the season. It could have been awful but when leaving that last afternoon, the hotel was basically deserted but those few employees remaining were still on the job. Thank you.

Location is good
Front Desk & Restaurant is Too Far from my room. Especially we had a problem when rain.

It was just ok. Very expensive for what you get.
The rooms are dark and they don’t clean and bring fresh towels unless you request. For the price per night, you should have the rooms cleaned and restocked without having to ask. Beds aren’t great.

Sprawling property with onsite restaurants and entertainment options located near the entrance of Denali National Park. Loved the contemporary decor of the buildings and the rustic charm of our rooms, which included a small sitting area separate from the bedroom. Could be a great option for families with young children (though we were just traveling as a couple). Our room was located in a building right by the river, so we always felt close to nature without even having to leave the grounds. A free shuttle bus comes by every 5-10 minutes, so access to the lobby and restaurants is never a problem. Parking is included, though space was tight during peak season. We ate at 2 onsite restaurants: the steakhouse on the first night (a bit disappointed with our overcooked steaks), and Karsten's on the second night (much better). We liked Karsten's so much we went back for lunch the next day. There was live entertainment in the "town square" and shops and even a fun photo studio to keep us entertained after our Denali Park adventures.
We got the feeling that the whole resort was going through a big staffing turnover. Many of our waitstaff noted that it was their first day on the job (they did more than a fine job). Unfortunately, our rooms were not cleaned during our stay, despite not having do not disturb cards on our doors. Not sure if this is a water/energy saving policy (which we would have been fine with), but our expectations were not set for that. I think the hotel can do better on that front.

The view!
Bags in the trash cans would have been better!
A bathtub instead of a shower only would have been nice!
Parking was terrible! Never had to park so far from my room!

loved the whole experience. even though it was the last day of the season, the staff made us very welcome and enough services and shops were open to explore. My wife and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful property right next to Denali!
would have liked to have one more night:)

The resort is so awesome with the McKinley Center being a great gathering spot for meals, drinks, relaxing in the courtyard with the firepits and live music, and fun shops. The property is close to other fun shops and restaurants and it is also very close to the park entrance.
Nothing...very great place to stay

Wow, we were very impressed with the resort and the room. Before our visit, I was aware there were 2 types of reviews, either extremely good and extremely bad. I was glad that our room was in Ridgeview building. The room is spacious and nicely decorated; good quality (solid wood) furniture, ceiling fan, a room safe, cookies, balcony and even a fan in the closet. The bathroom has a heated floor! The hotel ground is beautiful.
- The hotel cannot guarantee bed type upon booking. We took a risk as we really need 2 beds for 2 couples in the room.
- The hotel cannot guarantee which building (Ridgeview has nice rooms and other buildings do not)
- cannot park next to building and need to walk to parking lot
- shower doors allow water to go through
- no elevator

Located conveniently to Denali Park.
Unloading and loading plus location of parking=very inconvenient. Debris on carpet outside our room in hallway when we arrived; hallway never vacuumed our entire stay (3 nights). Cost too high for no WiFi in room. No recycling trash can in room. Karstens told us no takeout after 5:30 p.m. but never saw that advertised anywhere. Tried to order food at 6 p.m. to take back to room because we were tired and wanted to watch Olympics but they asked very prying medical questions and wanted to send medical personnel to our room!? Greeter at main lodge (older lady with eyeglasses and platinum hair) asking very unnecessary, intrusive questions of almost everyone. Would not stay here again.

Challenges with dining at the resort due to short staffing

Everything, wonderful place and we will be going back. Great for families. Great locations, food, atmosphere, room, and property! 10/10!

Location amazing and that’s why they feel they can charge such an outrageous price for the rooms you get.
The rooms have no Wifi and barely any channels. Beds are rock hard and showers absolutely tiny. Place was old and musty with kids running around everywhere plus paper thin walls. They ride on their location and the restaurant on the property being the reasons for the price but frankly it was an overrated motel of a room and I should have stayed at a Hostel to get the same experience. Very disappointed.

Near Denali National Park
No WiFi in our hotel. Had to go to main lodge to have WiFi. Also very few tv channels as well. Parking area was not next to our hotel, had a 5-minute walk to parking area. 10-minute uphill walk to other parts of resort. No information about the shuttle we saw other people using but we think it was just for cruise ship people???
