It was a short drive to Michigan’s Adventure and the beach. Didn’t have bed bugs.
Our first floor room leaked rain water from the ceiling when a storm passed through. Hotel was not in a good location. Laundry area felt very unsafe. The pool and hot tub water was not very clean. Power went out because of the storm and generators didn’t light up the rooms.

The roaches in the bed. I was kicked off the premises for requesting a refund. The manager was acting ignorant about the roaches and refusing to acknowledge the pics and videos I took showing the roaches in the bed. Paying for 2 nights and not staying in the room more than 20 mins. This hotel is beyond disgusting and fraudulent. Definitely contacting the BBB and multiple other agencies about the conditions of the hotel and the treatment from management

Very much needs to be updated
Breakfast was sparse and NOT ALLOWED to return to my room with food.
Room smelled of cigarette smoke, when I complained they covered with Frebreeze.

The lady when we checked out was nice
It was gross towels and sheets where gross had black and red stuff on them… the person when I checked in also said I had to pay me $100 deposit and I’d get it back when I check out even tho I had already paid it. The lady when I checked out said who ever took it shouldn’t have

the hallways smelled of smoke it was very run down
the check in clerk ignored me for a few minutes and kept talking on the phone and trying to extend the conversation on the phone and then finally after about 5 minutes spoke to me

We where given a room that was not clean (beds not made dirty sock on the floor) and had to be given a different room. The whole building was in disarray.

it’s a property that has been through a lot, so I think they are doing a good job trying to bring it back. it will get there and it will be better as time goes
the cleaning could have been better, we couldn’t use the hot tub because it was half cleaned. next time i know i need to bring my cleaning bucket i was rushing and left it

The bed was an absolute dream. So comfortable. Slept loke a baby.
There were some sketchy people wandering around, and a couple tried to strike up conversations. One even ask me for money.

The ladies working the front desk were both really nice.

It was good overall. I was able to relax while I was there. Got free breakfast in the mornings. I was happy.
Water and plumbing issues. The water temp could not controlled in the shower. It gets scalding hot and cold randomly back and forth. Every time I flushed the toilet I had to fix the flapper in the bottom of the toilet. It's bad. The toilet would have ran the whole time I was there.

a lot of non guest hanging around the parking lot, abandon building next door, the location was ideal. I wish I knew that before booking.

The quickness of the staff was getting our room together.
Many young kids driving crazy in the parking lot. There is only one ice machine in the whole building.

There was not much to like.
The hotel was dirty and the carpet very worn in the hallways. My 1st room was dirty and had soiled sheets. The lamps were dusty and one was missing a bulb. The base of the tub had a crack and the floor under the tub was spongy. The 2nd room was better but the housekeeper left a bag of dirty pop cans in a bag on the floor. I will not be staying at the Clarion in Norton Shores again if I am in the area.

The location is not good. Across from 2 liquor stores in a ghetto
