I liked the proximity to the beach and to the town. I liked the combination of a homey feel and beach town charm. Kailua is gorgeous. The guest house was spacious. Not a place I’d recommend for teleworking. So close to the pillbox hike. Easy to check in. Food options - Buzz’s Steakhouse, Haleiwa Joes in Kanohe, Grace in Growlers, Kono’s, Paniolos, Cinnamon’s, farmers markets

I was aware there was no AC. So it was manageable and pleasant at night. The sheets could be better like a bamboo material to help keep cool. There is a lack of privacy since you have to keep windows open to circulate air. Not the best place to honey moon.

The location was excellent and parking was unbelievably convenient.

The only thing was it got a bit hot and humid in the room since there was no A/C that we saw.

The bed was quite soft and we had to leave the fan on all night + windows open, otherwise it was too stuffy.

An excellent location. Just a block away from Kalama Beach Park/Kailua beach. Easy and quick to get to town where there are lots of grocery stores and anything you might need. Honolulu just 25 minute drive. A comfortable bed. Washroom is huge and well equipped. Laundry facilities. Great host. Close to Lanikai Beach.

No air conditioning was a problem for us. Thankfully there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom.

The check-in was easy. The description of the house and pictures were accurate. However, we did not know that it was attached or part of another house. Location was excellent!

The only thing we did not consider when we booked the unit was that there is no air conditioning. It is hot in August in Hawaii. The ceiling fan and portable fan was not sufficient to cool down the bedroom for us to sleep. We did not feel comfortable in having any windows opened at night. We did end up leaving 2-nights early and stay at at hotel in Waikiki.

The description said this guest house would be at 130 Makawao St and among other amenities would have a sofa bed. When we texted to pick up the key, we were told the address was really 130 Mo'okua, two streets over. It was a side wing of a larger house. Our space had a covered porch with an outside table for dining and sitting, followed by a bedroom, large bathroom, and kitchen. There was no sofa bed, nor space for one. We were charged extra to gain another room for part of the stay, after the family renting the main house left. Despite the comfort and excellent location of this guest house, we were very disappointed with the lack of honest communication about it. Further, after we left I received an email saying that our reservation had been cancelled--quite a puzzling message since we had already been billed. I have credit card records of our payment. Now I am wondering whether this was done to interfere with our posting a review.

Required parking on the street when a driveway was available. No air conditioning. Beach chairs were too heavy to carry to the beach.

Clean, beautiful, perfect for a solo traveler or couple

The connecting house is noisy when people are walking around. Luckily we were on similar early schedules but you definitely hear footsteps and banging around. This is nit-picky but would be awesome if the ceiling fan had ranges to be on low or high. It's very strong which was great when humid but then got cold in the night. I'd suggest new beach chairs that could be carried to the beach since it's just 1.5 blocks away.

The location cannot be beat. Kailua and Lanikai are gorgeous and feel more like they are on a less populous island.

The mattress and bedding left something to be desired. I prefer duvets and down pillows with firmer mattresses. Everything on the bed felt synthetic which makes it harder to sleep, especially in hot climates.

We loved the location, host better than great. Excellent communication and enjoyed our stay.

We would have enjoyed our stay even more if there were 3 additions: A/C, Dishwasher and screens on doors to avoid insects and allow in flow.

We didn’t realize this was a small section of a house that we were renting. Quite small. The shower needed a plumber-not draining properly.

Cute, clean and close to the beach. My whole family loved it. They had chairs and boogie boards for the beach. Close to everything in Kailua. Would definitely recommend staying and hope to return ourselves.

Location was fantastic. I came out early for my cousin's wedding to enjoy the warm weather and work remotely. The wifi was great for my zoom calls. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away and it was uncrowded. Easy to communicate with Kay to coordinate check in.

I somehow missed the detail that there is no air conditioning at this property, but fortunately it wasn't much of an issue. There's a ceiling fan and table fan and that was enough for me, but it wasn't terribly hot or humid during my visit. Just something to be aware of if you are planning to visit at a hotter time of year.

This is a perfect spot for a beach vacation - walking distance to Kailua beach and has everything you need. Host is super communicative - so easy to check in and out.
