It's a lovely spacious hotel, situated round an open courtyard, cool for the summer, but a little drizzly when we were there. The staff are absolutely on top of things; ready to attend to your every need. The breakfast was sumptuous!! It included home made quiches, beautifully roasted ham and the local fois gras speciality, which another guest described as 'exceptionel', as well as plenty of a hugely varied selection of French delicacies, pastries, delicious fresh fruit, eggs, best cheese and ham selection ever! The hotel is situated near the central town square and in easy walking distance of places to visit.

The parking was very useful, though a little difficult to find on the one-way system, and somewhat expensive. Though the on site staff were excellent, the reception (a student on summer job) was rather slow, a little ill-trained, and writing everything in a notebook as well as online??!

The Hotel Chiffre is a hotel run in a modern way: reception staff is present only during some morning hours and some evening hours. The staff is communicative, though, and respond to inquiries sent via Booking. It is located just outside of the old section of Albi, and it is easily walkable from there to most of Albi's tourist sites. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. We chose not to purchase the breakfast because there were cafe's and boulangeries not too far away. It is close enough to the Place du Vigan, a lively square, to be able to partake of its various offerings, from concerts to cafes. Yet it is removed enough that noise from the plaza did not travel to the rooms.

The staff at the reception desk could have been a little more attentive to in-person guests. In other words, phone calls seemed to take priority over in-person guest interactions.

No water in the room or tea/coffee facilities. However the price reflects the offering.

Location is not far from the city center. The room was clean and quiet.

The receptionist didn't speak English and just talked in French, which could give customers an unwelcoming impression.

Perfect location, calm street, within easy 5 minutes walk of old city. Spotlessly clean with helpful and pleasant staff. We appear to have been upgraded from a standard room to a "family" room free of charge. Big spacious and secure covered garage. Will definitely return again in the future. Rodney MANNERS - France

Perhaps it would be nice to have a small bar ?? There is no restaurant, but that is not a problem. There is a good choice within walking distance.

We received a lovely welcome at reception from a very smiley receptionist. She could see we were trying to speak French and spoke very slowly and clearly to us, only reverting to English when we didnt understand. The secure garage was ideal for parking motorbikes and it was only a short stroll into the old town.

The appearance of the hotel was very tired. Last renovated in the 70s! Whilst the room appeared generally clean, we found long dark hairs in the bath that clearly didn't belong to us.

it was close to the centre of town. we could garage the car securely and the dogs were welcome

it took a very long time to get hot water in the bathroom. This was a waste of resources

Car park at 15 euros a night expensive. Also wifi did not work in the room had to lean out of the window to get a wifi signal

We were very comfortable at this well located hotel. Plenty of restaurants and bars within a few minutes. Wifi good over two days. Electric car recharged in the parking lot. Very pleasant service. We did not try the breakfast.

No minibar, no kettle for preparing hot drinks in the room, reception not open all day, and not present at all during night.

Really big room with a great location, just a few minutes walking from the city centre. Parking option for a very good price.

The location was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The whole place was very clean. It provided everything we were looking for at a reasonable price. Love having a bath as well as shower.

Two minor points - the WiFi signal in the room was pretty awful, and the water flow in the bathroom basin was very slow although the shower was great.

Location and breakfast were excellent. Courtyard would have been great to sit in and have a drink but it rained.

The free wifi in our room was hopeless
