The friendly service from warm hosts Eugene and Clare. Decor, made to order breakfast . Helpful, open, attentive service that put us at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful restful break. Highly recommended any of the four rooms for that personal care and service. Better than 5 star hotels I've stayed in around Europe. Great facilities. hot water at your fingertips. Coffee and tea machine in room, ample space for clothes, excellent advice and suggestions for walks, eating out and comfortable furnishings.

Excellent location and lovely hosts. Breakfast was amazing

Lovely b n b really clean and comfortable. The owners went out of there way to make us feel welcome and nothing was a trouble. Even when we turned up looking like drowned rats, they gave us a place to dry our coats and boots. There were really nice touches like cake in the room on arrival and the coffee machine we loved. The breakfast was lovely and for me being able to choose items I wanted was great and meant less waste. Would definitely recommend

The only slight issue is the parking. However they will refund off your bill any parking charges. You can park most places for 1 hour with a parking disc. But it's free outside 6pm to 10pm which meant we just parked up after our trips out at 5 and didn't think about it until we were on our way the next day.

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Amazing breakfast - they provided a delicious vegan breakfast with sausages, hash browns etc and even provided me with my own vegan butter and milk. I am sure they would be equally helpful with any other dietary requests.

Location was so central for all that Ambleside has to offer. The room was very comfortable and felt more than just a bedroom, with a small sofa to relax on too. Lots of storage and a lot of thought put into small touches in the room. Very helpful and welcoming hosts.

Located perfectly near shops and restaurants. The breakfast was amazing and set us up for the whole day.

Stayed in Ambleside quite a few times over the years now.The Lakes b&b is a real gem .The owners are a lovely couple and nothing is to much trouble. From arriving ,parking ,our room and bed,cleanliness ,facilities and a beautiful breakfast to start our day.I have nothing but praise for this lovely place.

The breakfast was brilliant and nothing was an issue if you wished to change anything, so obliging. Ideal location to the town and just round the corner for any of the buses

This is a great B&B in the heart of Ambleside which is really convenient for all local amenities. Fantastic breakfast and the room was great. Room had plenty of space and facilities including mini fridge and Netflix on the TV. Clare and Eugene were great hosts, happy to recommend places to eat and walks in the area.

Breakfast was lovely but only served 830-9am. I understand a small window as only 4 rooms but did limit us. Owners were delightful. Location and price amazing

Somewhere comfy to sit would have been nice, like an outdoor small terrace. Beds were hard, but some people like that. Shower was small but it's expected. Hit my head off the ceiling that slanted into the window. Tiny sign telling me to mind my head, no glasses on so didn't see it getting into bed.

Claire and Eugene made us feel so at home and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautifully decorated, peaceful and had everything we needed. We especially like the sofa giving us somewhere to sit comfortably when we returned to the room. The breakfasts were excellent as was the packed lunch for our day out. Thank you Eugene and Claire

Lovely clean well appointed room. Owners very helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. Beautiful breakfast made with good ingredients, we did have to pre order the evening before but this wasn’t an issue for us.
