This is one of my best experiences on Booking. Indeed, the apartment was very comfortable; it has everything you needed for a short stay. The bedrooms are comfy, and there are lots of pillows, so you can actually choose the best one that fits your needs. The beds are soft, but not in a bad way. Usually, I have back pains on soft mattresses, but not in this case. Two bathrooms with showers for each bedroom and a large enough living room. We could cook breakfast every morning and that was very handy. We did not take breakfast from the hotel. The kitchenette has an induction stove, oven, microwave, capsule espresso maker, teapots, all kinds of dishes and tableware, etc. Maybe not really everything that you have in your home kitchen, but come on, you came here for a short holiday :) The apartment has air conditioners in each room, towels, and some very basic toiletries in the bathrooms (like soap and small shampoos). There was always a parking spot in the underground parking of the hotel (which is free of charge). And there is also a pulbic parking area behind the hotel, so we never used the private parking from the front of the hotel.

It's not that we didn't like. We actually liked everything. But you just need to know that walking back from the sea might be challenging in a hot summer day (it is uphill), so think about driving to/from the beach. The internet is not brilliant, but you can still send a message to someone, saying that you enjoy your holiday :) I didn't really understand the complaints from other comments about cleaning, as I think it was clearly stated in the description of the property, that they come once in several (five?) days for cleaning. So, I don't think that is a real problem. And there is everything you need for cleaning the apartment. It's not a hotel, it is a private apartment.

The property was in an excellent location, close to supermarkets and restaurants. The booking of the property and the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and spoke a good level of English. The amenities of the property were also good and was of a good standard of cleanliness. Great communication before and during our stay.

The only slight downside was that there was not enough crockery and cooking utensils to enable our group of 5 to cook and eat indoors if we wanted to. As we had booked the Presidential Suite, we would have expected at least the minimum to cover the number of people staying. The property was advertised to cater 6 people, and this would have been an issue if we had planned to eat anything other than breakfast in the apartment.

I liked Balcik for itself and the history, I liked the view, I liked the fact that the parking lot had an easy access to the hotel.

Nobody speaks English, nobody understands your needs. It like you arrive on Mars _every request is met with biiiiig eyes. They don't understand basic words in English. Then the place was dirty, broken curtains, broken chairs and there was a bucket in the bathroom for the dripping boiler. How is that a VIP apartment? No shampoo, no conditioner, no slippers, no bathrobe. Again - VIP much?? You could not open a bottle of wine _in the entire facility the waiters had only one bottle opener 👀. And for everything to be perfect - in the shower, the water instantly turns cold on you and there you go getting a cold out of nowhere. Plus, in a pandemic year, nobody in the facility wears a freaking mask. We are talking September, numbers are rising. No mask, nobody.

- good position to visit the Botanical Garden and the Castle - spacious rooms, good view, close to some restaurants and shops

- the bathrooms were not clean, they had traces from the previous guests. We had to clean and scrub everything before using the facilities - no grabage bags or any cleaning products - the barbeque for dinner on Saturday was made in front of the hotel, at the entrance. The entire hotel was filled with smoke and bbq smell - poor wifi - the cleaning service during our stay included just clean towels and bed linen, plus sweeping the floor with a broom. No vacuum cleaner or anything else. The cleaning was made while we were in the rooms - the pool is outdated, just rubber wrapped, not tiled - very few parking spaces compared to the number of rooms - no hanger to dry the wet towels, swimming suits etc.

The apartment was really nice and big

We had some problems with the hot water, if we wanted to make a shower after a day at the pool , for the first two people the water was ok but for the next two people the water was cold. They clean the room after 4 days, if you want a service before you have to pay 15 lv. It was missing dish soap.
