Beautiful property with great views and impeccably restored buildings.

Beautiful place, super host and the most amazing swiming pool ever. A short drive to the city of Amarante, but in the middle of nature, greenery and fresh air. It's the second time I stay here, probably not the last

The localisation is amazing, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is very good, the pool is great, and the staff is helpful and caring.
It was perfect.

Quiet, clean, lovely hostess Rita.
didn’t realise how far away the shops and restaurants were.

We loved the overall location of the propert as we were looking for accommodation in a quiet part of the district with interesting features and unique setting which this property delivered on.
Rita our host and all the other staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful and our particular accommodation was beautifully appointed and spotless with great views of the pool and surrounding district. The provided breakfast was excellent, and we loved the wine produced from the grapes actually grown on this property.
We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Nothing not to like!

Wonderful location in the mountains, though the narrow streets can be a little intimidating in some areas. Still, all apart of the experience. :).
The property is an old mountain village that has been modernized. My dog loved all the space he has to run around, and we really enjoyed being able to walk through and around their local vineyards. And their local wine is delicious! Great breakfast and a wonderful host. Would absolutely stay again!

beautiful area, accommodating host, lovely lodging

We loved everything! The property used to be a small village and Rita and Paolo have done an amazing job in re-storing the buildings and keeping the charm of the entire property. This was truly a treat to stay in such a serine property overlooking the mountains and vino verde grapes. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Rita was a gem! We enjoyed her kind spirit and passion for all the artistic touches to the spaces.
The restaurant is currently not operating, so be prepared to cook or do some grocery shopping before driving in or be prepared to drive to Amarante (which is only 15minutes) for restaurants. We loved cooking with the local ingredients and dining outside overlooking the grapevines.

A beautiful location. Rita was a wonderful host, and very helpful in recommending things to do and see in the region. Breakfast was delicious.

Super friendly people who were kind enough to wait up for me and show me to my accommodations when my flight was delayed. Beautiful environment, even in winter, with spectacular views. Exceptional breakfast.
Informational, for others: wifi was a little weak but that shouldn't detract from enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I'm just mentioning it for those who think they might get some work done. Go for a walk instead.

In general we liked everything, the place in the countryside with nicely renovated old farmhouses, the house was nice and quiet and the bed fanstastic we slept like never before. My husband suffer from allergies and they completely disappered the first day her so the environment must be very good. The owners, wonderful people who assisted us a lot and are very social persons both of them
Actually the only thing that occurs to me is the weather it was raining almost all the time. But I think that sort of complains
I´ll have to give to sombody higher up!!
I would recommend the people who stay here to either come in car o rent a car because it´is about 20 minutes in car to Amarante where you find restaurants etc. a beautiful colonial city

Location, staff, excellent breakfast

Historic buildings and grounds with lots of architectural character. Beautiful setting in the hills above Amarante. Modern interiors. Nice breakfast. Overall excellent value.
Barking dogs at night. A few items in the house were broken- 1) bathroom fan squealed after a few minutes 2) Hot water pot had to be unplugged to shutoff, it also leaked if filled. 3) Freezer needed to be defrosted.
Unfortunately, their restaurant was closed and
It was a bit of a drive on a twisty turny road to get to the nearest restaurants in Amarante which didn’t open until 1900/1930. This meant it was a late night drive back the Quinta in the dark.

Everything was PERFECT! I cannot say enough about this place! From the beatiful fresh breakfast every morning, to the pool, the landscape, the quiet and relaxing scenery, and our private apartment overlooking it all, this wonderful property was the perfect place to restore our batteries after our busy schedule leading up to our stay. Amarente is also a short drive from the hotel which had amazing restaurants and beautiful historic buildings. I am not sure if it happens every night but there was music and street carts, comedy and more just across the bridge. What an amazing experience.
Nothing however, be aware that there is no restaurant onsite after breakfast so make sure to stop beforehand so you can stock up on food to store in your kitchen

Beautiful, comfortable
The pool wasn't very clean

Quiet retreat in the mountains. great views, pool, and wonderful walks around the property. the breakfast was amazing!!!! the staff were very helpful! Love everything about it !
Because there is no restaurant near by, you have to drive to town (10-15 min drive).

The quinta is beautiful and very peaceful, with views across wide valleys. The staff are all lovely and the breakfast is nice. Be ready for the sound of bird-scaring fireworks in the morning (it's a working wine region) and for music occasionally echoing ethereally across the hills.
The restaurant was closed apart from breakfast; this was not pointed out on Booking.com or on the quinta's website. We called ahead to ask about transport and fortunately asked about their vegetarian options, at which point they told us we would not be able to eat there.

The room didnt have much space.

Perfect location, staff super friendly, amazing amenities
the bed was two singles which can be uncomfortable

Pool was delightful, though was undergoing maintenance on day of arrival (completed by 4pm). Breakfast was ok, though as a vegan options were limited. The host did specifically provide non dairy alternatives though, which was good. Sadly the restaurant was not available due to covid regulations - which was inconvenient for me as the nearest food shop was an hour on the bus and walk. However the staff kindly took me to a supermarket to purchase food and upgraded my room so that i had kitchen facilities. Excellent customer service.
I had thought that there would be wine tasting opportunities - but these were not offered to guests nor promoted visibly anywhere.
Clear information in any confirmation e-mail stating what facilities are closed due to covid. Clarity about wine tasting opportunities - ie how to book etc.

The breakfast was fine. We didn't like anything else.
This place is very remote, hidden away in the hills after at least à 15 minutes drive. Hard to navigate here even with GPS. There's nothing around here. The owners didn't even say hello or acknowledge our presence. They simply don't care. I would never recommend this place

The property is a delight to the senses. Around every corner, a perfect picture. In spring, the heady scent of orange blossom. The stunning swimming pool. Our guest house, made of stone with a pleasantly cool interior in hot weather, and very comfortable. The extremely warm welcome from the delightful Joanna and Barbara, who made us feel so welcome, we really didnt want to leave, and can't wait to return..
The only drawback for us was needing to drive to get into town. We soon discovered that staying in the Pousadella was more comfortable due to cool breezes in the hills, and stone houses.

It's the parfait place to have vacation with family or between couple. There are nice staffs and authentic architecture.
4.5
- great for relaxing inside the property as it is quite beautiful.
- breakfast was simple but quite nice.
- the house was super clean and had all the basic necessities. Maybe a little something extra that doesn´t cost much and makes the difference would be that, if you have a coffee machine in the house, it is nice to also include a couple of coffee capsules. Everything else was great.
- the living room area of the house could have a sofa that is more comfortable.
- if your intention is to leave the property often and visit the surrounding areas of Amarante, like Mondim de Basto, Vila Real, etc, then the location isn´t ideal. However, for some relaxing time inside the property and to only explore Amarante it´s a good location.
4.5
Attractive location , a short drive to Amarante and also ideal for hiking in surrounding countryside.
3.5
Location, pool, breakfast, staff.
Motorbikes, dirt bikes and quad bikes were loud. Also, a motorbike was driving around the grounds and we thought it was dangerous for our two children.
3.0
A lot of noise during the night with kids sleeping outside on a camping
Breakfast very week with few quantity of some ingredients
4.5
The personnel was very welcoming and was always there for questions. They served us a great breakfast basket with lots of choices; very tasty. The pool has a great view over the wineries and there are two trails that start from the accommodation.
The pool could be cleaned better/more often. Lots of bugs in there and even a frog at one time floating at the bottom. The beds are quite hard; not really our preference.
4.5
The quinta is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and was willing to help us with everything. The room is luxurious and clean.
If I have to say a thing: we had a normal room without kitchen and there is no restaurant close by, it’s a 15 min drive by car to the town of Amarante. Just take that into account when you book this beautiful accommodation.
3.5
The location is beautiful, good swimmingpool
We had the room nr 8, next to room 7. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything from the people next door, even their talking in the bathroom and what happens in the bathroom.
The staff are very sweet smiling ladies, but only one speaks a little English. No maps for walking/hiking, no extra information what you can do. The hiking directions are unsufficient and lead you nowhere or into the bushes. Only the short hiking track of 1 km is okay. There are good trackdirections for off-track motorbikes.
No restaurant in the neighbourhood, you can order by telephone from a restaurant, but they don't speak English, so somebody from the staff has to help you.
