Great location in a beautiful part of Edam. Warm, cozy and with a great breakfast included.

Extremely quiet and clean hotel. The location and atmosphere are perfect. There are busses from Amsterdam going all day to Edam. It was easy to get to and a refreshing departure from Amsterdam. Such a beautiful town with kind people. Would definitely stay again. The staff and owner made us feel extremely welcome.

We liked the room very much and the way to it from the street. The pup slash restaurant was also very nice and local. A communal sense about it which is very much appreciated in this day. The hotel is right on a little canal and is just all very endearing. The late check in was also very helpful for us

Hard to say anything that I didn't like.

You get to Edam with bus 314 from Amst. central ticket costs 6 euro (do not buy the day ticket for 12 unless you want to return to Amst. the same day), nice 10 min walk from the bus station to the hotel/restaurant/pub right next to a beautiful canal with amazing atmosphere and views. Lots of nature around, the seaside is a stone thrown away, I recommend to walk towards the beach and then turn right to Volendam, it’s an amazing walk path of 3 km by the see, I enjoyed it so much! By the see the wind is stronger so be prepared with the right outfit. In my backpack is always there a small ombrella and a foldable rain jacket, a Bini and a scarf. If you are an early bird you could do Edam and Volendam in a day easily and have dinner and your room at Harmonie the same evening.

I recommend the owner to change the mattress of room 3, despite it being very very soft I had a very good sleep, but with that upgrade your place would be perfect! I could hear music until around 1 am on a Friday night. It didn’t bother me because it wasn’t loud.

Hotel Pensione de Harmonie was in an excellent location ten minutes walk from the bus station , 5 minutes from the bicycle hire shop and boat hire was literally outside our front door at the canal! ( excellent value too) It was within walking distance of all restaurants/bars in Edam. We were on a family holiday and it had plenty of space to accommodate our group of adults. It would be equally suitable for couples. Breakfast was lovely and there was always the offer of more if we wanted anything. We ate one dinner there , as dinner is not on every night. The night we ate there , fish was on the menu and again we were offered more if we wanted it. Hotel de Harmonie had the added bonus of being a great spot for live music at the weekends. It was obvious that the owner had an interest in music from the decor in the bar. There were two live bands there on the weekend that we stayed, which drew a good crowd.

The rooms are above a bar/cafe which was very cosy. We arrived on Sunday afternoon when a band was about to play and we enjoyed the concert and had a nice time talking to the band and other guests. The room has cooking facilities if you want to make a meal. The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast in the bar. The hotel is very close to Edam centre which is lovely.

Not really a complaint but the room is at the top of a steep fire escape stairway so if you have mobility problems this isn't for you.
