Beautifully located. Truly felt like staying on a piece of paradise. Enjoyed being at our accommodation and the surroundings.

The accessibility of the wifi connection to our particular room was not great. We had to be outside to actually be connected. There also wasn't a consistency with the water temperature.

The staff were friendly people the sort we should have in the UK. I couldn't fault a thing every thing was perfect. If i come back to Mauritis i will deffently be staying at your hotel excellent place.

The food was better than most outside restaurants! It was exceptional. The staff was beyond friendly and professional. It really felt like they hand picked each one. Sam went above and beyond to take care of us and make sure we were happy and experiencing all that we can. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location was accessible to EVERYTHING and still in a quiet location. The beach on the property was great! It had white sand, crystal clear water, good snorkel, nice lounge chairs and bean bags. The management was caring, accommodating and made you really feel at home. I would HIGHLY recommend La Mariposa for couples, families and solo travelers.

I can honestly say this Hotel was superb! Nothing was to much trouble! the staff are amazing, genuinely friendly and attentive. The cleaners keep the hotel grounds and rooms immaculate. My mother and I have some mobility issues and even though our rooms were up stairs, the stair wells are very well lit and the stairs and shallow with a very sturdy hand rail. The room had two bedrooms with large king size beds, with ensuites. our room had an addition single bed for our 5year old. Both bedrooms had air conditioning. The balcony area had a table and four chairs and drying lines. I would have a coffee there in the morning. The ground floor from reception to the beach bar, restaurant, beach bar is completely flat, great for thoses who require walking aids or a wheelchair. to get onto the beach there are a couple of steps down onto the sand, again the steps are shallow and if you do require additional assistance the staff are very happy to help! The hotels location is picture perfect with a amazing view of La Morne and lagoon. The private beach is the high of serenity with clear views of the lagoon and La Morne. the water in the lagoon is crystal clear and beach area is clean and has beans bags and round beach beds as well as sun beds. The buffet style breakfast has a good choice of cooked and continental choices. Lunch choices range from club sandwiches to fresh cooked fries, ideal for children and adults alike. The evening meals menu has a great, from lite options to a la carte. The chef was a new addition to the team and what an asset he is. He is a very talented chef and is bringing his wonderful skills to this beautiful, friendly, boutique hotel. Our family group were so impressed with La Mariposa we are booking again (we don't usually return to the same place purely as we wish to experience a new destination). We found La Mariposa the height of tranquility at it's best. Thank you La Mariposa for a truly amazing experience!

We really struggled to find something that we didn't like! At a push all I can complain about really was the mosquito's and well I really can't put that down to the hotel! As you would expect with any hot country the mosquito's are everywhere! The local pharmacy will help you with insect repellents and the hotel provides repellent for your room.

Right on the beach, there's not enough lounger for all guests, but its still ok. Breakfast was good

Didn't particularly like the dinner experience, wait was incredibly long. If you don't have a car there's very little happening in walking distance from the hotel

The room was great, spacious with a bathroom and kitchen (which we used a few times), dishes were cleaned up by the staff in the morning which was great! We had a little balcony area with a table to have dinner sometimes, with a view onto the garden and sea. The breakfast was great, fresh pancakes, eggs (how you want, even an omelet on request), fruits, yoghurts, fresh juice, coffee tea, other warm food that changed slightly day to day (bacon, sausages, potatoes, beans, mushrooms). There were some cakes and pastries but I wasn't too fond of those, seemed a bit stale. The beach was lovely, quiet and semi private, with a view onto Le Mourne, sunset view. They had beach loungers and bean bags. There's a supermarket nearby to pick up any food/snacks. ~30 min drive to Le Mourne - highly recommend to hike up to the top, very beautiful views (last part you'll be scrambling to the top). Just make sure to either get there very early ~7am. Otherwise the entrance is guarded by some people that won't let you in unless you've paid for a guide or pay them some money.

The one time we ordered a pizza for dinner, the base was undercooked, basically still raw. Might have been because we asked for it a bit late, so make sure to request in advance. I can't comment on the other restaurant food. There weren't many places to eat nearby that we had interest in. We went to Happy Raja once which was recommended by others here, but was a bit underwhelming given the reviews were so high. Still, reasonably priced and friendly staff. The pool is kind of in an odd area where people are constantly walking by and it's right next to the restaurant area. There limited parking, i.e only a few spots, but we just parked on the street and had no trouble.

The staff was really professional and helpful and definitely made us feel welcomed from the beginning till the end of the stay (special mention for front desk & guest relations). We got upgraded to way better room than we booked and it was just perfect. We also booked multiple great trips through them and they even managed to arrange a trip for the same day within just few hour notice. After checking out we still had a possibility to use the beach and pool and even shower, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was great. Also the property itself is really beautiful and the beach probably one of the best ones in the area. Would highly recommend! :)

Restaurant forgot our order once so it took very long time to receive the food and even drinks. All in all they were doing great job and there is really nothing else we didn't like.

Nice, small hotel on the beach with personality, nice people and relaxing atmosphere. You can have the breakfast / dinner under a wonderful tree, on the edge of the ocean. Picturesque. Good shower pressure (a rare feature in Mauritius).

The leadership team members didn’t give consistent responses in dealing with the Cyclone Freddy. When I asked to extend my stay one said they had blocked booked me in for another couple of days. The second said it was available at a higher rate than I had paid for the 8 days and the third later said there was no availability as they needed the rooms for staff. I checked out a day earlier than originally planned and got no refund. Disappointing!

La Mariposa is such a beautiful place! The beach, the sunset, the personal, the vegetation, the smell of the flowers. I really enjoy my stay at La Mariposa. Would love to come back.

There was nothing that I didn't like to be honest. Just one think (to improve :) ) is that there was a cuckaro in the bathroom.

Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs and requests. The establishment was very neat and tidy. Rooms were comfortable and good size. Facilities at the resort were very good. We had a lovely stay at La Mariposa. Thank you to Dweena and all her staff.

A little more attention is needed regarding cleaning of the bathrooms daily - can be improved, which would make this place closer to perfect! Just something to look at.

The hotel is very beautiful with a very beautiful private beach, the breakfast is buffet a lot of options to eat, but is not delicious, is like eatable. At 10 minutes distance is a Mall with different restaurants, also a supermarket, very good location. The staff was very friendly and nice.

The cleaning is coming after 2 pm which I find it very very uncomfortable. I don't know if this is normal in this hotel but everywhere I have been the cleaning has to be ready until midday. So the first day they came , we were in the room , at 2 pm wanting to take a nap, so I said pass to them, the second day we even left the hotel so they have time to clean , but they came at 4 pm waking me up from the nap, because they knock until you answer and they make sure that you don't want cleaning. After all, we paid the cleaning for nothing! And they came to the room just to annoy us. We felt like they did it on purpose to get rid of one room to clean. This is unacceptable. We didn't say anything at the reception because we left the 3rd day.

It’s a small family owned boutique resort. Very well situated at a pretty beach close for Flic n Flac and Le Morne. Omg it’s such a cute place:). It’s NOT for people who prefer big all inclusive chain resorts.

overall it’s excellent but a faster WiFi and a bit of renovation here and there will make it even better i.e., our toilet knob kept falling off. But it wasn’t a big deal :)
