A fabulous pool, nice surroundings and a very helpful owner who was really quick to respond to any question we had.
However, there were quite some mishaps during our week. In the description it is stated there is aircondition. This was the worst air conditioner we have ever seen. This needs to be hung out through a window and is extremely noisy and is not doing its job, i.e to cool down the room. We couldn’t get the temperature lower than 24 degrees Celsius and with feverish old parents this was a nightmare.
Furthermore, the house is old and not well looked after. Cabinet doors in the kitchen are hanging very loosely and we had several electrical short cuts which made fridges and freezers (and washing machines) stop. To sort this out we needed to call the neighbor many times which was a bit disturbing.
Finally, since we are a family who loves to cook and was looking forward to using the grill in the garden it was rather irritating to have to clean it or pay 200 euros to have it cleaned. We left it in a perfectly clean condition but felt this should be included in the somewhat hefty price for this house.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay but would hesitate to recommend this house to people we know.

What an amazing property!! Beautifull well equiped house with large bedrooms. Fantastic garden, with a large dining area and a majestic pool that we and the children loved. Overall an outstanding family-villa.

Beautiful and spacious place, incredibly well equipped and furnished with great taste, comfortable and with a lot of attention to details. We were a group of up to 17 adults at times and found everything needed for such a large group. The garden and the poo area are very nice and the also the surroundings are just gorgeous with a su.nny spot throughout the day. I hope we will come back some day

So much more than the summarised description. We kept finding new delightful features that made our holiday so enjoyable and memorable. The location is not easy to find but so well worth it.

Very charming antique house, well maintained, gorgeous pool and garden area with total privacy. Very complete large kitchen ideal for lots of cooking, nice beds and bathrooms. Charming decor...
With everything at hand; 3 fridges, from a pizza cutter to a pump for pool toys, very nice ping pong table and outside toys and games, plenty of seating around the yard. Just pack your swimsuit, a good book and off to France... we loved our stay.

Idyllic, luxurious getaway in beautiful location
Sixteen members of my family stayed here for a week in July 2019 - 8 kids and 8 adults - and we had the most wonderful time. The house is perfect - beautiful, spacious, comfortable - and the exterior, with the pool, pool house and dining area, just wonderful. We barely felt the need to leave although our day trips to Uzes and Pont du Gard were spectacular. It's a lovely secluded location, peaceful and bucolic. I can't recommend it highly enough. Many thanks to the owner and the helpful manager for making our stay so great.

A beautiful welcoming holiday home for all the family
This spacious characterful house and extensive grounds with a fanatstic pool (and pool house) gave 13 members of our family, aged from 2 to 67 the most wonderful and memorable holiday. The heat ( up to 36C) meant that the pool was favourite, hotly (yep) followed by the huge trampoline and, for some, the telescope and the night sky, where we saw the moons of Jupiter and rings of Saturn for the first time. There was space for everyone to spread out as well as communal areas for us to gather for meals, inside and out. The biting insects were the only downside but we realise that comes with the territory. It was the perfect place to celebrate the various birthdays and anniversaries that fell during our holiday and we would all love to return. We variously enjoyed visiting Nimes, Uzes, local villages, the Pont du Gard, the Forest Park and the Water Park but the star of this holiday was Mas des Gardies.

Be careful!
Overall, villa itself and especially outdoors area are nice and met our expectations. Heated swimming pool was especially useful and it was warm enough for kids to spend as much time in the water as they wanted.
The stay was, however, not without issues. When we arrived villa was not very clean. It was dusty and not thoroughly cleaned. Instead of a gas grill which can be seen in the photos, there was only plancha and small charcoal grill which made cooking for 17 people quite tricky. We did, however, make no issues out of it, which, in hindsight, we should have done. At the end of the stay we got blamed and charged for couple of things we did not break – the pull-out bed and pool cover clippers. We even got charged for the extra cleaning even though we left villa in the usual standard of cleanliness (with all the dishes done, etc). We stayed many times in French, Italian and Spanish villas and never experienced such issues. Again, in hindsight, we should have reported any breakage we found to the owner but you don‘t want to spend beginning of your holidays doing full inventory of the villa. The owner of the villa is not present at site and is not very responsive to the requests (eg for the preparation of rooms, restaurant recommendations). Local guy looking after the villa was not particularly pleasant or fair especially at the end of our stay. It feels like he uses every opportunity to earn a bit of a cash on the side. We tried to reason with the owner – but reasoning is difficult when the owner has the deposit you paid and has no way of checking things. All in all, good villa but not the best experience.

Memorable week, fabulous property :)
Even better than the photos! Everything clean and tidy, the best equipped property we've ever stayed in. An inspired idea to have two dishwashers! And no fighting for sunbeds more than enough for everyone. Lesley was very helpful in advance of our stay and Guy was on hand on site (and very polite about our 'O'level' French ;) Thank you!

What a wonderful week. We made memories to last a lifetime. Young and old enjoyed every moment and we all participated in the variety of activities available. Definitely a holiday to repeat.

Quiet and peaceful rural idyll
Excellent property with great amenities- lovely large pool set in ample grounds. Luxurious accommodation with good living and kitchen facilities that ease all worries away. Sufficiently away from the hustle and bustle of life yet local attractions are easily accessible. Thoroughly recommended!

Just Perfect
This was a family holiday for 16. It was a fabulous place to meet and share time together.
The house was more than we could have hoped for, it lacked for nothing. The salt water swimming pool was also a great hit with the children ( and some of the bigger children !!! )
A very friendly & helpful caretaker ( sorry, his name escapes me)visited us daily. He was also great.
We would all love to return. Thank you

A fantastic half-term holiday
We had a wonderful winter break in this gorgeous farmhouse, much of it spent playing games and generally sprawling around the open fire in the cosy living area. The huge, well equipped kitchen open to the dining table meant rose was easily handed back and forth while cooking. Enjoyed spectacular starry skies from the terrace and poolside (blankets recommended for colder nights.) Spacious cosy bedrooms, long garden with tree house for kids to explore sweeping to mountainous horizon. Even though you feel suitably remote, the hypermarket is only a short drive away. The nearby town of Uzes is rammed with cafes bars restaurants and plentiful antique establishments - particularly worth a visit on market day though get there early. The decor feels in keeping with the the house but with guests comfort uppermost in mind. A fabulous location. Hoping to revisit in summer.

Gorgeous villa for a relaxing holiday!
It is an absolutely beautifully renovated home on a spacious property. My wife and I were jetlagged but immediately relaxed in the covered area for an al fresco lunch.
We used the outdoor pool for morning swims and refreshing dips in the afternoon. The beds were comfortable and gave us a great night’s rest. We enjoyed afternoon walks in the nearby sunflower fields and vineyards. Our stargazing by the pool in the evenings on chaise lounges with (several!) glasses of wine were some of our fondest memories.
Practically speaking, the house is easy to find and close enough to transportation links that day trips were easy to plan for. The grounds and interior were impeccably clean and well maintained and actually better than described. As a bonus, the wine cooperatives had fantastic local rosés. We had some trouble working the oven but the property manager was responsive and very helpful and showed us how to use it.
5/5 - Would highly recommend!

Wow.....what a stunning house and location!
One of the most memorable family vacations we have ever had. The property looks fantastic in the pictures, and even better in person. Very clean and looked after. Beautifully decorated with bathrooms in most guest rooms. The house comes with all the amenities needed for a fun filled family vacation with our adult children and families. Great location nestled in between exquisite french villages where we could sample great wines and the local cuisine. The pool was fantastic along with sitting at night watching the Milky Way and the shooting stars. We loved this house and plan on another visit within the next two years. Thank you for a great vacation experience!

Beautiful, relaxing, winter retreat
We had a fantastic long weekend at Mas des Gardies. The perfect place to spend some time off in the winter months. The house was immaculate, well stocked and modern. Many of the bedrooms look like they have been recently refurbished and the garden also appeared to be very well kept. The open fire was a huge bonus and the local property maintainer was very accommodating in showing us where to find the firewood amongst other things. The local supermarket and bakery are around 10 minutes drive from the property and if you fancy a day trip I would recommend Aigues-Mortes, a medieval town around 40 minutes drive from the house.
Will definitely be returning!!

Beautiful, serene and clean holiday home.
I had a really lovely time here at this farmhouse last summer with my boyfriend and some friends. The family who runs the house (Lesley and Robin) were really friendly, polite, and were prompt in replying to my questions via email.
Each room was unique, clean, and cosy. The stone walls kept the house nice and cool during our stay. The garden is absolutely enormous and the swimming is absolutely gorgeous! It is exactly what you need to cool off from the summer sun.
We particularly liked the pool house where it can sleep up to 4 people - there is also a games room/bar area conjoined to it so it made it an ideal place to spend the evenings drinking and eating by the pool. The house basically has everything you would need for your stay e.g. fully equipped kitchen, BBQ set, ping pong table, movie area, piano, trampoline and treehouse...
We are definitely thinking of coming again next year :)

A fantastic house for our party of 10 adults and 8 children
This is a lovely place for adults and children alike. The pool was a great hit with all. And we kept discovering new things to do. So many games toys etc for all ages. All the bedrooms have a bathroom and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor dining space for our group of 18.

Wow! Great place! Beautiful well maintained and exceptionally well equipped house and garden.
Just the right amount of rooms and well ordered space, thank you.
We especially appreciated having the trampoline in the shade which kept our 3 young grand children amused for ages!
Fabulous pool and garden.
Thank you

Lovely villa in a pleasant, quiet rural setting, with extensive well kept gardens, and a large pool.
We are a large extended family of 10 adults and 9 children aged 4 to 11 years.
We have holidayed together annually in the south of France for the last 10 years
We were absolutely delighted with the villa and its facilities. The brochure description and details were accurate and the villa really clean and tidy when we arrived.
The house is simply but generously furnished and the kitchen well equipped.
The outside table seated us all comfortably and is well shaded - we never needed to use the large one indoors!
The saline pool is well designed with a shallow rim around the edge, and useful roman steps and is reassuringly in view from the house. We all loved it. There's plenty of shade from trees nearby.
The children were spoiled for choice with the large selection of outdoor activities, as well as the huge toy/games cupboard inside and selection of DVDs.
The calls of the Golden Orioles were a delight most mornings, though they are remarkably adept at hiding - brief glimpses only.
Guy was a great help and always available if needed.
The surrounding area is lovely, and much quieter than Provence. Uzes is a gem. We hardly started to explore the Cevennes.
We would love to return.

Large and lovely house in a really peaceful location
The house was great for a large family group and the pool was really good, especially after heating had been newly installed part way through our holiday. The house was set in extensive grounds with many wild flowers and some exotic bird life. We particularly liked the open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with dividing counter top, which was both practical and sociable for larger groups. The fridge/freezer was brand new and having two dish washers was very useful. The bedrooms we used (5 out of 8) were generally well furnished, though the pool house bedroom was lacking hanging space.
The whole ambience of the place was very peaceful and lent itself to just chilling out around the house, pool or gardens.
We did get out and about and it was great to be close to places like Nimes with its roman amphitheatre and the amazing Pont de Gard, as well as the Carmargue region for its wildlife. We would return to Mas des Gardies again if we came back to the region.

Mas Des Gardies is a well appointed spacious Villa easily accommodating our family group of 10 adults and 4 children. Extensive grounds with plenty of activities for all ages and a magnificent 17m pool. The pool house is an added luxury being a perfect spot to relax after a swim. The listing description understates the layout and facilities. To be recommended.

Mas de Gardies is a stunning retreat tucked away in South of France near Ales. I've keep going back, always with a large group of friends, to make the most of the beautiful pool, sunshine, croquet, beers, candlelit al fresco dining til late with local wine, and the multitude of cosy rooms indoors. It's easy to forget that the nearby towns are also charming, if you make it outside the grounds!
I can't recommend it highly enough!

Have stayed here three times now, each time with a large group of friends. The house is perfect for this, being spacious enough that peace and tranquility are available on request. The large kitchen and lounge perfect for the colder evenings, whilst the outdoor table and pool area great for the hot days and nights.
Beds all comfortable, house clean and well presented. The local area is excellent. All in all, highly recommended! I hope to return soon.

I've stayed in this property with friends on three separate occasions, and have enjoyed each trip thoroughly. The property is modern, well equipped, spacious and comfortable, with wonderful spaces for a big group to cook, eat and relax together both inside and out - as well as being spacious enough that you can escape and be by yourself with a book for a while. Would highly recommend a holiday here.

I've stayed here on two occasions with Sebastian, the manager - it's a beautiful home and perfect for a holiday for a group of friends. The house is elegant, has huge dining tables indoor and out - perfect for long lunches of bread, cheese, and the local rosé. The other sides of the house feature a lawn on one side (excellent for a bit of slightly rugged croquet) and a large pool and poolhouse on the other. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there are restaurants and medieval towns in driving distance, so even if you tire of the house and pool (which would be very difficult) you'll find plenty of things to do on days out.
The centre of the house is a huge, barrel-shaped lounge, which is perfect for relaxing in the evenings, and there are bedrooms enough for a dozen people, especially if some guests stay in the poolhouse. I highly recommend this house for a blissful summer holiday!

We stayed with Lesley and family this summer and were blown away. The house is gorgeous, the grounds and pool amazing. The kids had such a good time that they wrote about it at school and say that it was their best holiday ever! Hope the Roberts don't mind us coming e very year...

This is a really great place. Excellent, modern facilities in a characterful, old house, beautifully and imaginatively converted. The pool is sensational! It is a great place to chill out, with extensive grounds and many features to help you relax and unwind. Many of the bedrooms have en suite facilities. The living area of the house is open-plan and spacious, making a sociable setting, but there is lots of space for people to 'do their own thing' when they want to. The house and grounds are well-kept, clean and comfortable. The house is on the fringes of Monteil. It feels delightfully secluded but you can be in Ales in about ten minutes and Uzes in under twenty-five. There are many beautiful places within easy reach, and Nimes and Montpellier airports and Avignon TGV are easily accessible. We had a wonderful few days there and would return any time. Highly recommended!
