I missed a toilet.

Great location, very central, near restaurants, with a nice neighbourhood to take a walk. The apartment was very comfortable and clean, well equipped.

Absolute gem! We were blown away with the apartment and didn’t want to leave! Modern, lovely sitting room and we particularly loved the shower!

Very new and nice appartment. Free public parking very closeby. Very good and clear instructions about check in and check out. Short walk to bars and restaurants.

Excellent apartments, safe, immaculately clean, very comfortable and relaxing, spacious, perfectly staged and equipped, quiet location yet close to historic sites and restaurants, close free parking!! I would definitely recommend the Chambre d'hôte et gîte chez Thomas et John to anyone who asks me for a lodging recommendation in Verdun, and I look forward to staying there at my next opportunity!!

The stairs leading to the upstairs apartments are narrow and a little steep which is customary in Europe/France. Please consider this when visiting and when packing! We were tourists with big luggage (our fault!), but I'm glad we managed the stairs! The apartments are SOOOOO worth it!!!!

The apartment was clean, functional, tastefully decorated and lived up to the description provided on the booking site.

We had booked Thomas and John's 'gite' for two nights. We didn't expect luxury and were initially pleasantly surprised when we unlocked the door to the property for the reasons given above However, after having taken a shower later in the day, we started noticing a very unpleasant and overpowering smell of mould emanating from the bathroom. It had also seeped into the bed linen, so it was impossible to escape. We decided we couldn't stand another night in the fusty smell, so we left a day early and instead checked into one of the hotels in town. We were also disappointed by the lack of communication from the hosts. Months before our arrival, we sent them an email (in French) asking if they knew of places to rent bikes in Verdun on a Sunday or Monday as we had noticed through an internet search that all bike shops were closed on those days. We were met with silence. A brief 'Sorry, we're unable to assist you' would have sufficed, but silence is unacceptable in my opinion. We also later enquired (in French) about the possibility of leaving our luggage at the property as we arrived early by public transport and had no place to leave our belongings while exploring the area. Again, we were met with silence. All in all a very disappointing experience.

The location was super just a few steps from the cathedral and John was the most friendly host ever. Very nice and well equipped appartment absolute value for money.

There are 3 apartments and it is not well isolated against noise, we had a family above us. But it was no problem we used ear plugs.

A quick walk from the downtown area and an extremely comfortable stay. Place was modern with everything you needed. I only stayed over one night but wish I had stayed longer.

Great location in centre. Free parking round the corner. Large apartment. Although we didn't see any owners or staff, communication via booking com messages was good.

I was a little surprised to be asked to sign a separate rental contract via a French website with terms and conditions in French, given that I had booked through booking.com... But I ignored the request for a digital signature on that contract and no one complained....
