The rental was just as advertised. Nicely furnished and clean. Also the pool / hot tub was a great plus!

This house is in a wonderful Katama location, so easy to get to South Beach, Katama General Store, Morning Glory Farm, and downtown Edgartown via bike or car. Beautiful living area with lots of natural light, multiple lovely outdoor seating areas as well. Beautiful hydrangeas were all over the property. The outdoor shower was so cool covered in grape vines for ambiance and privacy! I am an avid swimmer and the jet pool was so nice— I could keep up my exercise routine on days when the ocean surf was too rough. It also had hydro massage jets and you could control the temperature of the pool and hot tub! Very nice maintenance folks came once per week to take care of the pool which was also really great. The house was well stocked with everything you need to cook meals (lobster pot, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, toaster, kettle, microwave, etc.) as well as beach towels and very comfy bath towels too. The interior had very charming coastal decor throughout the home giving it the perfect beach house vibe. Alan and Marsha were so easy to work with and very accommodating and friendly. They were communicative but not overly so, just the right amount of contact. Thank you! We would love to come back, we have been renting in Edgartown for the last 7 years and this was the best place we have stayed so far!

Home is in a great location with a short drive/bike ride to Edgartown and the Chappaquiddick ferry. Close to major roads to other parts of the island like Aquinnah, Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. We enjoyed staying in this home and the pool and jacuzzi are wonderful. Property is dog friendly which was important to us. One issue, towels were stated as being provided in the listing but none were to be found in bathrooms. We had to take some from a closet that was labeled for housekeeping. Probably an oversight.

This is a very nice home in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood near historic Edgartown. It was clean and well furnished. We had a lovely time.

We loved our stay with friends at Katama hide away! Very quiet snd relaxing location. The host was wonderful answering all of our questions snd check in and check out was simple.

My wife and I & 2 dogs just had an idyllic one week stay at the house. The location was perfect for quick outings to Edgartown & Katama Beach as well as short rides to Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven and the rest of the island. Alan was readily available for any questions regarding the house or island and the house provided many of the comforts of home, including the pool/hot tub out back. The house was only a mile from Katama airport, from which I took a biplane ride, which was a hoot. Thanks again for hosting us at your beautiful house.

This was our first time renting this house in the area and we could not have been more pleased with our experience! The owners reached out and welcomed us to the house and told us they were available anytime we had questions. The house was extremely clean and decorated very nicely in a nautical theme throughout the house, which enhanced our island experience. The TV room as a good size, very good quality Smart TV that allowed us to log into Netflix and Prime, plus all other streaming services were available too. The location for us was perfect since it was a bike ride away to Edgartown and South Beach, located on a quite street, which was also a great location to walk our dog. We were also very surprised at the quality of bed linens and bath towels, plus they provided beach / pool towels too. The grounds are beautiful with gorgeous flowers all around. The outside also has multiple seating areas with two large nice tables to accommodate a family that wants to eating outside. The grill was pretty good and worked nicely and met out needs, but they do need a grill brush and the owner told me he would get a new one. The kitchen was nicely appointed and had everything we needed. We cant wait to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay at your home. Really nicely kept, huge bedrooms and plenty of space for hanging out. The spa/hot tub was great, surprised how much we used it !! Close to down town and the beach.

The location was perfect, pool was a nice bonus and the owner was helpful and attentive. We had a great time!

Our stay at this property was underwhelming at best. There’s mold in the bathrooms, the oven was not cleaned in months, the kitchen is functional but poorly equipped without knives, cooking utensils, plates, pots and pants etc. Next, the property has a disgusting and significant ant problem. For coffee drinkers, be prepared since there’s only a 5 cup coffee maker (but 2 dozen coffee mugs???). Another disappointment was the outdoor shower; it’s is covered with vines allowing insects to crawling all over. Summer vacations means outdoor grilling but this grill has shelves falling off and was left a mess with grease and charred food caking the bottom. We had to completely clean it before we could use it. The tvs were ancient and in one unit the color was not working. We used our laptops instead. Finally it should be noted that one bedroom is a loft with an 3x3 opening overlooking the living room making any privacy impossible. We think for the conditions, the bedroom arrangements and the lack of attention to the property, this week was way over priced and far below expectations.

The owners took the time to meet us when we arrived which was a nice added touch . They were very friendly and always available by phone if we needed them. The yard has many different areas to relax and for children to play . We were pleasantly surprised when we found out that a swim spa/jacuzzi was added. It was used a lot and enjoyed at the end of our day. House was clean when we arrived . Only downfall was the small ants (the owner did place ant traps). Would recommend this home to a family who doesn’t mind driving to the beach and enjoys walking to downtown Edgartown .

Alan and Marsha make everything about your stay more comfortable and easy. The house is surrounded by beautiful flowers and gardens with a lovely vine covered outdoor shower! Easy access to town and quiet neighborhood.

Martha and Alan were wonderful hosts, providing everything we needed and great recommendations! We stayed with our 2 children and grandparents - the kids loved the brand new pool. The property was great, we would definitely stay again, and the location was a 5 minute drive from both Edgartown and South Beach. I highly recommend!

This was the perfect vacation property for our family of four and our puppy Elsa! Check-in & check-out couldn’t have been easier. Very clean and cozy home with a nicely stocked kitchen & linens provided! Wonderful location - easily accessible to all areas of the island. Parking was great! Nice, quiet and relaxing with outdoor space to eat/socialize. Communication with Alan and Marsha was amazing & they made us feel right at home for our April Vacation getaway! Thanks!

Just outside of Edgartown, which is a beautiful town and has plenty of things to do, we were able to get there quickly on a car and on bikes. We were also minutes away from an excellent beach which was great for surfing! The best part was the area we were in. Even though we were so close to everything the east side of the island had to offer, the house felt quiet and secluded. The perfect get away after a day of activities. I highly recommend this location to anyone considering visiting Martha’s Vineyard.

We had a fantastic week in this house. It was in pristine condition, and had a warmth and comfort that really made it feel like home. We will look forward to staying there again next summer!

We stayed in mid July 2020 , a very warm week for the island but was very comfortable in this new home with my family(hubby and 3 grown sons). This location is ideal for biking to South or Katama point beaches and close to the Katama airfield, which has a stellar restaurant and great biplane rides- we enjoyed all. Best feature is the outdoor shower- covered in vines and growing grapes; beautiful outdoor spaces and gardens- a gem!

We spent 4 weeks in this lovely house with alternating family members and had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and well equipped with anything needed to make an extended stay comfortable. There is plenty of seating areas around the house to always find a sunny spot and have a barbecue. Inside is cozy with a large family dining table and open kitchen. Marsha and Alan were very good hosts responding quickly to any request we had. We would definitely rent here again.

We returned to Martha's Vineyard for the first time in 25 years and had a magical time with our family. The island itself is a wonderful host, and we loved our experience in this property. It's very cozy, quiet and peaceful at night, and close to both the beach and the Edgartown nightlife. Thanks for having everything ready and attending to our questions along the way! We highly recommend the property and strongly recommend booking your car ferry AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Lovely home and location. Centrally located and a few miles from Oak Bluff. House was fully stocked with cleaning supplies , games and towels. There are restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommend if you like nature and a peaceful surrounding.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at this charming property after a rough start. Upon arrival we were shocked at the condition of the home. There were enormous PILES of trash behind the house, trash and dog feces littering the gardens, some broken outdoor furniture, stained carpets, etc. etc. The housekeepers were still there and could only do a quick surface cleaning as the prior "guests" had left more than 2 hours after the checkout time. An immediate phone call to Alan Schaffel the owner and it became apparent this was NOT the usual condition of the home and, unfortunately, the renters the week before us had "trashed" this home. After speaking with Alan, we were re-assured and decided to stay. In less than 3 hours he had the trash hauled away, yard waste cleaned, broken outdoor coffee table fixed, new recycle and trash bins delivered and pick ups scheduled. He also had a brand new washer and dryer installed early that week, and housekeepers to return mid stay! The housekeepers came with 4 persons this time and the home was gleaming when they were done. Alan and Marsha came by personally to meet us and bring several needed/missing items (iron, ironing board, hairdryer, beach towels, new outdoor umbrella). Unfortunately, we were at the beach and missed them but would love to have met them as they could not have been any more responsive, concerned and appropriate. They too were extremely upset with the condition their home had been left in by the prior renter and even gave us a gift certificate to The Black Dog, which was totally unnecessary, but very considerate and appreciated! We would not hesitate to stay in this lovely home again. During our time we were anywhere between 4 and 6 adults, or 5 adults and an infant and there was plenty of room. The location is perfect and convenient to Edgartown, South Beach, Morning Glory Farm, Katama airfield, etc. We love MV!! Thank you to Alan and Marsha for making our 2 week stay in our "Happy Place" so pleasant after a less than 24 hr "rough start"!! Would not hesitate to come back again!!!
