My family just finished a week in this one of a kind home on the Elk River. The property was everything and more than we expected. The pool kept the little ones busy and the sunsets on the deck kept the grownups happy. We had plenty of room to spread out in this fully equipped gorgeous home. Gretchen Koch was great to work with. There should be a category higher than Premier Host for Gretchen. We hope to return next summer!

My family and I recently stayed at this beautiful home. It was exactly what I was looking for...a beautiful, large, comfortable home on the water where my husband and I could spend time with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. It was so nice to disconnect from our busy home lives (& devices) and embrace being together. We spent the majority of our time swimming in the beautiful pool, fishing from the dock, relaxing in the hot tub and watching the boats go by. The sunsets were some of the most beautiful we had ever seen. Chesapeake City was a short drive away and we enjoyed visiting some of the quaint shops and had some delicious meals.
The owner, Gretchen, is a lovely person who provided so much information before we even arrived. She met us when we arrived and showed us around. I thought that was so nice, had never had owner/host do that. It was such a personal touch.
Cannot wait till we can return to visit this peace of paradise on the Elk River. Thank you Gretchen 💗

This property was perfect for our 8 person, three generation long weekend away. The home was comfortable with a great layout for gathering and for some pivate space. Even though the weather wasn't the best, we enjoyed the heated pool and spa, we watched the eagles and osprey, we cooked and played games. The host was wonderful and very responsive to all of our questions. Gretchen gave us recommendations for dinner and ice cream nearby. We'll definitely keep this in mind for future vacations!

We stayed at this beautiful home over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time with our family. The host was incredible and answered all our questions. Everything we needed was there. The fireplace is amazing. The view absolutely great and we loved the dock to walk out on. We will definitely want to come back here.

After a hiatus to repair storm damage, Bella Vista is back & better than ever. Stellar attention to detail, superb location & fabulous amenities. We love staying here and can’t wait to come back. We had perfect weather and enjoyed the pool & spa daily! The view is stunning. Gretchen & Bob are so nice and welcoming. Nothing could have been better. We are so grateful to have found this house and to enjoy our vacation there. Thanks for everything super hosts!

We had the best time staying here! The heated pool is right by the house and right on the water. You can watch the boats go by from the pool! The house was very clean and had the most well stocked kitchen of any rental home I've stayed in. Beautiful well kept interior and landscaping around the property. We didn't have any issues while we were there but the owners were very responsive to questions. We hope to come back next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Bella Vista for our son’s wedding weekend in Chesapeake City. The house is very comfortable and accompanied 8 of us nicely with lots of space. We enjoyed all it had to offer especially sitting on the deck by the river all hours of day and night. The spa was so relaxing at night after a busy weekend. Our hosts were wonderful and helpful with suggestions in the area when needed. We would definitely recommend staying here and would like to return for another visit.

The house exceeded our expectations and accurate to the photos online. We had good weather to use all the outdoor amenities especially the spa connected to the pool. Sunsets were amazing. The River room was perfect for morning coffee and relaxing. The men enjoyed watching football games from the comfort of recliners in the spacious living room. Owners were wonderful to work with and checked in regularly in case we had any questions. We are already planning a return visit to Bella Vista.

Very easy property managers to work with. Very communicative and were good at explaining everything beforehand. We had a lovely week long stay in their very clean, very spacious, very beautifully decorated home. My kids loved the pool! My parents loved the house! My grandma loved the view! Really, we all loved everything! Lots of space outside for kids to play in the yard and a variety of places to have meals indoors & out. (I had my kids eat a majority of their meals outside due to the lovely furnishings inside, but overall the house was very accommodating for our large age range (93 years old to 5 years old!)

Every part of the Bella Vista property was beautiful, inside and out! The home, the location, the beds, linens and the amenities were perfect for our family vacation. Everything you could possibly need is provided by Gretchen and Bob. Even though we docked our own boat, having a beautiful pool for the extra hot days was wonderful to have. Even the hot tub got some use at night. The location is lovely too. Serene and having breathtaking views of the Elk River. We visited restaurants by boat to Chesapeake City. You don’t have to have a boat to enjoy this lovely home! Gretchen and Bob were wonderful to work with. They take great pride in providing a clear and orderly home. It was a pleasure to work with them. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect vacation on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay with my growing family. Hope to be back next summer!

The view was spectacular. Looking out at the river was very relaxing. Using the kayak was enjoyable. Once the heater was turned on all of us were able to utilize it. The house had all of the supplies we could need. Which was a huge convenience. The owner was easily accessible. Would definitely recommend this beautiful home.

Beautiful clean property, had a wonderful week. A few maintenance problems, but owners were quick to respond to. The listing advertises “bring your boat,” However, the homeowners notified us a day or so before our vacation that the boat or trailer were not allowed on their property. The marinas the owner recommended were private and we couldn’t use them. Checking in with this last minute information put a wrench in our day. One of the neighbors let us park the trailer on his property, which was very nice of him. We really lucked out, but given this information earlier would have helped us plan better. Other than that the home and pool is beautiful, plenty of room, well stocked kitchen.

What a beautiful, spacious home. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable! Everything you need is there. Gretchen was very responsive and addressed any questions or issues promptly! She was very accommodating with our group of family and friends. The kids loved swimming, and we all loved relaxing in the hot tub. We also had a great time fishing off the dock and even caught some fish. Thanks for hosting us, Gretchen and Bob! We can't wait to visit again!

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. Gretchen and Bob, the owners of the house were so responsive and committed to making sure all of our needs were taken care of - before we arrived and during our stay at their really beautiful house. It was so clean, well-taken care of, and well-stocked with everything you could need. The view of the water is gorgeous, the sunsets spectacular, the fireplace was amazing and the hot-tub was awesome. I could go on and on. Don't hesitate to book this exceptional home away from home. You'll love it!

If I could give this property 10 stars it would not be enough. Gretchen is a super host. You will only need to bring your food. The kitchen is well equipped down to the seasoning. The hot tub was awesome Fantastic views. Definitely will do this again.

A group of friends and I stayed at Bella Vista for a long weekend and we all loved our stay! The property is very spacious, clean, and beautiful and Bob and Gretchen really did think of everything when they designed and furnished the house. The pool and hot tub were great and we all enjoyed the dock as well as watching the sunset from the yard. Can't wait to come back!

Bella Vista House was a great place to stay! I loved looking out and seeing the river everyday, from so many parts of the house. My family and I enjoyed the hot tub and pool, especially at night gazing at the stars. The deck that overlooks the river was AMAZING with a gas fire pit..very peaceful. The grounds were beautifully maintained and private. The house is very roomy, but still cozy. The views from the house as well as the dock are quite amazing. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. It was a perfect extended weekend!

The house is absolutely beautiful, very comfortable, with all the amenities you could ask for, and plenty of room for everyone. The property is equally beautiful - we watched many sunsets from the 87-degree pool, and enjoyed the panoramic views of the water all day long. The owners and caretaker truly want you to enjoy your stay, and work tirelessly to make sure you do. Very highly recommended!

We had a great time at Bella Vista!! We stayed here during a heatwave and could not have asked for a better way to spend the week than by keeping cool in the pool. We had a wide range of people with us from 18 month thru adult and each one of us had a great time. The property was very beautiful and the house was extremely comfortable. The owners were very attentive to any questions we had and were very concerned with our comfort and happiness. The caretaker is AMAZING! Very helpful, friendly, prompt and just a great person to work with. I would recommend this property for a fun get away. The surrounding area is also great for a relaxing, feel-like-your-away-from-it-all time, but not too far away from conveniences.

This beautiful house and property exceeded our expectations! Starting with our initial inquiry continuing with additional questions, the owners of this property were a pleasure to work with - going out of the way to make our stay memorable. Their handyman, whom introduces you to all the MANY wonderful features this rental has to offer, was a delight, too. The owners also employ a great cleaning service; the house is immaculate. We rented for 4 nights, we wish our schedules allowed us a longer stay period. Leaving Bella Vista was tough! There’s no doubt we will return to this AMAZING oasis.
