The bed was clean and comfortable.
It’s in dire need of maintenance. Blinds broken, internet not working, tv intermittent, curtains don’t close, keys in locks a struggle (waking up the household) toilet flush buttons broken, musty smells in house everything old, not worth R3800 for two nights.
Only one room has the view advertised, we had to keep all our blinds closed (which was a good thing as they don’t open except for one) as the house is at an intersection where you can easily see into the room of open.

Very pleasant, welcoming hostess and a lovely house. Very comfortable, beautiful bedroom and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent breakfast, everything was generously given.

Das Guesthouse ist klein und familiär und hat eine schöne Lage. Das Personal ist zuvorkommend und versucht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen.
Wir waren bei unserem Besuch allein in der kompletten Unterkunft, das war ein bisschen komisch. Soweit wir wissen wohnen die Besitzer woanders und das Personal ist nachts nicht vor Ort.
Wäre das Gelände nicht eingezäunt, hätten wir uns wahrscheinlich nicht sicher gefühlt.
Das komplette Interieur ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und ein bisschen altbacken, was dem Zimmer auch einen gewissen Geruch verleiht.
Den Pool konnten wir während unseres Aufenthalts leider nicht nutzen.
Außerdem sollte man zum Frühstück sehr genau kommunizieren, was man will und was eventuell nicht, da es in unserem Fall zu einer Verwechslung kam. Obwohl wir es unserer Meinung nach unverwechselbar aufgeschrieben hatten.

Sehr netter Empfang der Hausdame Evelyn. Haben ein größeres Zimmer mit Balkon bekommen. Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Hermanus eine sehr schöne Stadt.
Leider ist das Haus direkt neben der Straße, daher Autolärm in der Früh.

It ist a very good place to stay. Very cozy and big rooms, modern furnishings and a very nice Personal. The breakfast was really good and delicious. The location is very good, it's not far to the coastal path.

We liked the room and the house itself with its Victorian style : big stairs, some chandeliers on the ceiling. We felt like in an american movie! The employees were very nice.

O quarto era muito espaçoso, limpo, assim como o banheiro.
Amenidades de boas vindas! Ambiente tranquilo. Foi tudo muito bom!
Estava a uns 2 Km de onde tem mais opções de restaurantes, o que para nós nao foi problema por estarmos de carro.
Mas ao sairmos para caminhar, fomos advertidos em nao passarmos das 17h.

The room was very big with a fabulous big comfy bed. The staff very helpful and friendly. Had a nice seating are just outside our room. The breakfast was good. (I didn't have it on the first day as I had to leave early for a shark dive). My husband should also have been going on the dive but unfortunately had eaten something which made him ill for 24 hours so the staff made him tea and toast when he was ready for it. He was lucky enough to see whales from the property when Willy ( one of the staff members ) shouted for him to come and see them from the balcony.
Close wo footpath that was the costal walk and you probably could have seen whales from there.
The buzzer/ bell to the property wasn't working when we initially got there and due to problems earlier in the trip we had very little credit to be able to phone the number on the sign. Luckily we hadn't been waiting too long and Willy ( one of the staff members found us and let us in). The secure car parking was a bit tight, but manageable. It was a bit too far to walk comfortably into town.

Personal war sehr freundlich. Zimmer sind groß und geräumig. Die Terrasse hat einen schönen Meerblick.
Das Frühstück war sehr unorganisiert. Wir haben am Tag vorher auf eine Uhrzeit bestellt. 4 von 6 Personen mussten dennoch 30 Minuten auf ihr Frühstück warten. Das ist kritisch wenn man Touren gebucht hat.
Im Zimmer hing der Kronleuchter herunter und die Rollos waren teils kaputt. Aussage des Personals war, die Vermieter wollen hier renovieren, daher wird aktuell nichts dran gemacht. Ok.
Auf der Terrasse ragten Nägel aus dem Boden. Sehr gefährlich!

Our room was on the ground floor and the noise on the morning as the house woke up for the day may disturb people.

In der gesamten Gegend gab es kein Wasser - keine Spülung für die Toilette und keine Dusche am Morgen. Die Hotelleitung hat sich jedoch sehr bemüht alle Gäste mit Wasser zu versorgen.

Denise und die beiden Angestellten waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Bett war sehr bequem und das Zimmer hatte eine gute Größe. Wir konnten uns unser Frühstück täglich aussuchen und es war absolut ausreichend. Ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Guesthouse.
Aufgrund des Unwetters konnten wir zum Glück außerplanmäßig eine Nacht länger bleiben und Denise sowie die beiden Angestellten versuchten alles, um uns einen den Umständen entsprechend angenehmen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen.
Es war alles super.

The Whale's Tale Guesthouse liegt Nahe einem schönen Gehweg, der direkt an der Küste entlang in die Innenstadt führt. Das Personal im Haus ist sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Die Zimmer waren bei unserer Ankunft liebevoll vorbereitet.

Wir haben ein kostenfreies Update auf ein größeres und besseres Zimmer bekommen. Wahnsinnig gemütlich, sogar mit Wanne und Dusche. Das Frühstück war ausreichend, Obst mit Joghurt, Toast und Eier. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam. Von dem Guesthouse kann man auch den Cliff Path Trail starten.
Ein Mülleimer im Wohnbereich wäre wuenschenswert gewesen.

Evelyn, our hostess l, was super friendly and helpful from our arrival to departure. The room was lovely and comfortable, the breakfast was tasty and definitely great value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the future.

Extremely spacious and luxurious, with private jacuzzi and sauna, well equipped, close to waterfront, scenic view from balcony. Willie and Evelyn were great hosts - very friendly and extremely helpful.

Great location with a wonderful sea view. Walking distance to the New Harbour, a stone’s throw from the Cliff Walk and also walking distance to town.
We were given a MASSIVE room with an extra bedroom with a great sea view. Comfortable bed. Breakfasts were very filling and delicious.
Bath mats in the bathroom would have been great. Coffees weren’t replaced daily

The property is located close to beach and barely 200 mtrs from new harbour, which is the prime location to spot whales, my purpose of visit was to spot whales from
my bedroom as I woke up. With this lofty goal I booked this guest house, although I didn’t spot whales but the view from the bedroom was quite impressive. Also the property seems to be a house converted into a GuestHouse, so one can reside in the opulence that the hosts have installed for themselves. We got a large living room and a cozy bedroom for what we paid.
There was no access to kitchen, and while travelling with the my daughter it was quite important to heat her meals as she is a lucky eater.
