There isn’t enough space so I’ll keep it brief,
Tumble didn’t work, no pegs to use the line, holes in window frame, gate to high so dogs could get out, no clocks no pizza cutter (I know silly but annoying) no explaining on the internet that dogs can’t stay alone in the house! That really stopped us on our holiday!!! Sofa is broken we found bolts u der the sofa and the back is bulging where broken, and no wood for more than 2 days, I know July, right but it was freezing. For a dog friendly place not a dog bowl in site, luckily I brought my own but how many used normal bowls before us, yuck!
However, the house was gorgeous the surround was amazing just the small details that ruin it!wouldn’t take a lot to take it incredible

High ceilings for a "cottage", comfy beds and lots of hot water and good central heating, however sadly in need of some much needed TLC as various things broken. Could also do with better /more thorough cleaning - attention to detail lacking overall which could easily be rectified. We enjoyed our week despite constant storms and rain as the local area is lovely. 15 mins to Porlock and Lynmouth by car.

The property was lovely and it was nice to have a wood burner howevwr little things let it down such as a sheet that didnt fit the bed properly and it was missing a mattress protector. The kettle was so black inside we purchased our own. Small maintenance issues around the property need attending to as well as a stain on the carpet. Overall i didnt feel we got value for money.
4.7
The cottage was superb! Location dito. Breathtaking landscape. Beds were fine.
Couches were a bit worn out but that's all.
We will definitely be back!

absolutely beautiful location

A lovely, comfortable cottage in an isolated position but an easy drive to Porlock or Lynton/Lynmouth - very clean and well furnished. Very steep stairs to the bedroom at the top of the house but we knew that before we booked. Good log fire and heating system which we used as we didn't have the best weather. A good enclosed garden for the dog.

An atmospheric cottage for an early autumn break. Such a peaceful location with many great walks.
4.7
Beautiful cottage and idyllic peaceful location with stunning views. Everything provided for a relaxing stay. Some very quaint villages locally, would recommend it for anyone wanting peace and quiet. Thankyou
4.7
Beautiful house, comfortable beds and clean. Stunning tranquil setting. Fabulous walks. Definitely made the right choice of property.
4.7
Beautiful location and lovely accommodation, although stairs to second floor are very steep and vary in depth. Amazing walks on the farm and around Lynton/ Lynmouth. There's a little lighthouse between the farm and Lynmouth which is worth a visit for the stunning views, however be aware if you park at the top of the hill and walk down it is a long trek and very steep The walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet is beautiful and there's a lovely little cafe at Watersmeet. Some super craft shops to visit, don't miss the candle shop as you go out of Lynton towards the Valley of the Rocks. The Valley is also a must visit for the numerous goats and fabulous scenery.

Beautiful location, with walks straight from the door. Very comfortable accommodation. Thanks for a lovely, restful holiday.
4.7
Beautiful period cottage with lovely old features. Perfect location for exploring Exmoor, although it is so perfectly situated, we could have looked at the view all day! Everything was very comfortable with plenty of space. The enclosed garden was perfect for dogs. Netflix was an unexpected bonus!
A lovely week’s stay.

Charming, spacious and cosy cottage. Very old but beautifully renovated. Perfect location. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and good showers. So peaceful, surrounded by fields and sheep with views to the sea. Ideal location for walking holiday, with a different walk every day from the door. Housekeeping excellent and the housekeeper was very helpful with a couple of queries. Would definitely return.
4.7
Excellent location. Lovely old cottage but all mod cons.
WiFi very handy as no phone signal (not that it bothered us).
4.7
Fabulous location with great walks from the door and dog friendly. We enjoyed dark skies, peace and quiet, wildlife sightings and glorious picnic spots all close to the cottage. We stocked up with a few essentials in Porlock as nipping to the shops is a round trip of about 12 miles. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the owners very helpful.
4.7
Fantastic location and a beautiful cottage. Wonderfully isolated and quiet. Great walks from the farm and a great location to travel onto the moor. Would visit again
4.7
Gorgeous location. Peaceful. Good size cottage. Would stay here again.
4.7
Great location to explore Exmoor, walks on the doorstep, no need to drive far.
4.7
Great place to explore, very comfy cottage.
4.7
Great short break away. Everything you would need in the cottage.
4.7
Loved the place - beautiful house and amazing location.
4.7
Lovely comfortable cottage although more cushions in the lounge rather than the bedrooms would be useful! Appreciated the shower caddies for shampoo etc - very few cottages seem to have these which makes showering awkward. Great showers and comfortable beds which are the main features we look for.
4.7
Lovely cottage and fabulous situation with great views and lots of walks from the door including close access to the South West Coast Path which we have just begun. Great access to Minehead, Porlock Weir, Lynmouth and Lynton. Very comfortable and peaceful, really a home from home. We cooked ever night and the kitchen had everything you could possibly needed. The beds were also very comfortable so could not fault it. Lovely large sofas in living room. Only thing I would say that the stairs to the en-suite bedroom are a little tricky if you have mobility issues and also to get to the bathroom on the first floor from either of the first floor bedrooms you need to go down three stair and then up three stairs so that was a little awkward during the night as I have bad knees.
4.7
Lovely cottage in a great position . Loved evening walks spotting deer. I did ask if there was a shower in the bathroom on first floor and I was told by someone called Maeve that there was. There wasn't. If there had been more than 2 of us it would have been a problem as one shower in an ensuite is not really enough with adults especially.
We will probably come back but unless just 2 of us, probably one of the other properties.
4.7
Lovely fully equipped remote character cottage, great few days break, i even did the cooking for a change. Would wholly recommend.
4.7
Lovely quiet yet convenient location with lots of walking from the cottage and Porlock a short drive away.
4.7
Lovely remote, cosy cottage
4.7
Nicely appointed. Everything you could need cleaning materials wise and basics such as salt and pepper. Couldn't find any matches to light the BBQ- or wood burner, we forgot to bring any.
I suppose COVID 19 has prevented the option of recycling, but never mind we took it all home!! plastics, bottles and composting stuff.
Cosy and warm.
Nice walks across the sheep fields from the property. Beautiful surrounding countryside just up the driveway.
4.7
Perfect spot for a genuine get-away break with walks direct from the door. The cottage is ideally positioned for accessing both the coast paths and moorland areas of Exmoor National Park - not to mention the many cafes serving delicious cream teas! We had plenty of space to spread out and the cottage was wonderfully cosy on our return from long days' out exploring. A fabulous week - can't wait to return!

Sunsets were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Yenworthy Cottage. The house was very comfortable. Great to have a washing machine and dishwasher in the kitchen and utility area. Brilliant showers. We all slept well. The garden was perfect for playing quoits and relaxing in the sun. Brilliant, and strenuous walk down and back to the beach, but worth it. So much wildlife seen on the farm especially a wonderful variety of birds.
Particularly loved being there when the lambs were bleating! Ideally located for Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock and Porlock Weir. The Valley Of The Rocks coast path was spectacular.
We plan to return in 2024.
Here's to our next The Best Of Exmoor experience.

The cottage is in a beautiful quiet location, with everything you need for your stay. As previous reviewers have mentioned, maybe kindling/matches would help as we would've liked to light the fire a couple of evenings. Good for doggies as a nice lawned and enclosed garden.
Our booking experience with Best of Exmoor has been good on both occasions we've used them, and we will aim to use them above other providers where possible.
4.7
the location the cottage and lovely Hazel were absolutely five star.It is a very difficult time at the moment with the country almost on lock down with the Coronovirus but the area is so isolated from towns and cities we felt completely safe.We hope to return later in the year if you have a three day break available.
4.7
The most wonderful situation and the view is definately worth more than 5 stars, amazing!!
The only thing I would say is that the stairs to the ensuite bedroom are very very steep so if anyone is even
slightly dodgy on their legs it could be a problem. Having said that my mum and dad coped very well and
really loved their room and the cottage. We would'nt hesitate to recommend it and certainly hope to come
back again.
4.7
This cottage is in the most idilic and peaceful location, where the only noise you can hear are the birds and the odd fly! Great walking from your door step so perfect if you have dogs. Good access to all other areas of Exmoor too, so a great base for a holiday.
4.7
This cottage would have scored a full 5 stars on every aspect had it not been for some minor points which could easily be resolved, however that aside, it was generally clean, comfortable, dog friendly and good value.
We arrived during a particularly cold and wet May, and although there was a plentiful supply of logs there were no other tools to light the woodburner. It would have been helpful to have known this in advance particularly as the website says that kindling, matches etc would be available.
Despite other minor issues/irritations which we have raised separately, this cottage redeems itself in countless other ways. It is in the most idyllic location, with stunning scenary, great walks from the door and free access (as long as you close the gates) to all the surrounding farmland. The walk to Glenthorne Beach is a must as but be prepared for a steep ascent to the cottage on your return.
There was a plentiful supply of hot water, great showers, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. Once we had located the heating thermostat and purchased kindling etc., the cottage did become warm and cosy (as per other reviews) in what was an unusually cold, miserable wet May. The cottage was very dog friendly with sturdy carpets and a well enclosed garden. It is also well positioned on the North Devon Coast between Lynton and Porlock both of which are beautiful.
Overall with just a bit more attention to detail Yenworthy Cottage could be 'Excellent' rather than just 'very good' and we do intend to return hopefully at a time when the weather is a bit more hospitable.
4.7
This was the third time we had stayed at Yenworthy cottage. We particularly like the peaceful atmosphere and the lovely local walks. Excellent for the three dogs.
4.7
Was a beautiful clean cottage. I suggest taking walking boots as the walks are quite hilly in places. Recommend doing a big food shop on the way as no local shops in walking distance.
4.7
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and being able to walk from the cottage was lovely.
4.7
We had a lovely family week (with teenagers and two dogs) walking and exploring the local area and Exmoor generally. The cottage was the perfect base; so warm and cosy (such thick stone walls!), plentiful supplies of hot water, excellent cooking and bathroom facilities and a lovely sitting/dining room. We very much appreciated being able to take the dogs on walks through all the farm fields. The stunning scenery and coastal outlooks were enhanced by several days of lovely autumnal sunshine. We will heartily recommend Yenworthy to friends. Many thanks!
4.7
We had a lovely week staying at Yenworthy Cottage...completely away from it all (although Waitrose still deliver!). Cottage was perfect for our family (incl two teenagers) - spacious enough, characterful and fantastic views across the farm and down to the sea. Only things to note are a) steep, narrow tread stairs to master bedroom mean some with mobility issues may have problems and b) the only shower is in the master bedroom ensuite. We really enjoyed spending time down on the rocky beach that is (very steep 25 min descent and ascent) which we had completely to ourselves. We also enjoyed Lynmouth (excellent mini golf and ice creams/coffee from the cafe in Lower Lyndale car park), the lovely beach at Lee Bay which you can access via walking through the Valley of Rock or drive to and the walk from Withypool to Tarr Steps with a fantastic lunch at Tarr Farm Inn. Overall, a super value cottage that we'd happily return to
