This apartment was the perfect Venice abode for our family, that includes married children and grandchildren. The apartment is perfectly located on a canal, and only a three minute walk to the Jewish Ghetto. Each room was spacious and clean, with three full, newly renovated bathrooms and a beautifully renovated large kitchen. The furniture was old and worn, and some of the paint on the walls was peeling. But overall, this was a perfect apartment for our needs.

Wonderful. Very welcoming hosts. Really nice part of Venice. Much less busy.

Clean and perfect for a larger group because there are 5 bedrooms sleeping 2 each and 3 bathrooms, so that no one is ever really waiting to get into a bathroom. The big dining area with table and sitting area by the windows looking over the Fondamenta Cannaregio easily accommodated all of us while reading, listening to podcasts, talking, and planning the next day's touring.
Very convenient for arriving from airport leaving for airport with Alilaguna (orange line) which stops only steps away from the property.
Clean rooms with a spacious kitchen with plenty of dishes and bowls and cooking utensils. We made dinners, had breakfasts, and prepared sack lunches for our touring days at the Venice Biennale .
Right outside property there are bars and restaurants that made our stay even more special. Congenial and not so crowded because away from main attractions surrounding Piazza San Marco. Instead, we headed into Cannaregio for dinner at some spectacular restaurants without waiting or crowds. Reasonable prices in October.
I hope to return to the same location, again, in 2024 for the next Venice Biennale!

Great location!!
So close to the airport stop. Stair are steep so take that into consideration. No lifts. Great eateries nearby! Great shopping! Venice was very hot and the air conditioning did not keep up. Would stay here again for sure.

Great find in Venice
We were extremely pleased with this property. We came in by train and it is very close to either walk or take the water taxi. Very great location right on a canal and close to almost everything. The host checked us in personally and walked us through everything. We were a family of 10 with 6 adults and 4 kids (12, 9, 8, 5). Everyone enjoyed this place. I would highly recommend.

Venetian Minimalism
I am going to try to remain focused on my review of the property, as I am not a huge fan of Venice. I'm a country girl and overly touristy areas are not something I enjoy...
The flat is in a great location, situated outside of the extreme tourist areas and just outside of the Jewish Ghetto which in my opinion was the best area we visited.
The front bedrooms were a bit noisy as they faced a canal with pretty heavy traffic (earplugs from our flight came in very handy). If you are used to city noise I am sure you will not be bothered a bit.
There are of course stairs to get to the flat. It is on the 2nd floor but there is no landing so you need to be very careful when entering/exiting.
The trash is a little tricky but I respect the recycling program and found it to work nicely. If you are tired and need to sleep-in, the trash collectors start ringing your door about 9:00 AM to let you know they are there.
The general feel of the flat was not cozy feeling at all, actually it was a bit sterile feeling. Between poor lighting and lack of area rugs it felt like you were staying in a basement with a nice kitchen.
As for cleanliness, it was clean except for 1 issue that apparently was only present in the master bedroom. Our visit was during the 2nd week in October. The weather was wonderful. Apparently, mosquitoes are an issue. I am uncertain if they are an issue in Venice in general (assuming they very well may be) or just in this flat.... the master bedroom had smushed mosquito carcasses stuck to the walls near the bedside lights. It was gross. I tried to clean them so I didn't have to look at them but they were not easily removed and I didn't want to damage the walls so I pretty much left them.
In the mosquito wars I can certainly see how they got there in the first place (get some repellent!).
In summary, good location, good amenities, great check-in hostess, good management/leasing company.
On the down side: mosquitos and a little sterile feeling (not homey).
All-in-all, I would recommend this flat to a friend just be prepared & enjoy Venice!!! ;)

Excellent property and managers
Cannot say enough good things about our stay here! We arrived in the morning and because no one was occupying the property we were allowed in early. Marco of The Red House Company met us upon our arrival as communicated in emails and spent an hour orienting us to the property and to Venice. He actually gave us a map and showed us where to go and how to get there. This map became our guide for the entire stay. When I had further questions, they also responded to all my emails within 24 hours.
The property was on the 3rd floor so there are quite a number of stairs but it was beautiful and just as the pics show. The AC worked nicely and got quite cool in the evenings. The kitchen was large, had many dishes and utensils, as well as appliances. There is one unit that served as both a washer and dryer but it took hours to do a load; a friend later told me we should have drained the water after the wash cycle before drying. I’m sure Marco would have explained this better if I would have asked. There is no iron but there are 2 hair dryers! It is clean and the furniture is good and was not worn or stained.
The best part about it was the location. It is on a canal just off the main street. It was quiet but very close to “the action.” The views from the windows were stunning and many pictures were taken! There was restaurant/bar next door that served breakfast (including chocolate pancakes deemed “the best” by my picky eater son), lunch and dinner, as well as cocktails. It quickly became our hangout when we were around the house.
We stayed at this property for about a week then went on a cruise. Upon our return we stayed at a much more expensive property on the Grand Canal managed by a company named something like Best Venice. I cannot tell you how much nicer Marco and Red House treated us. Unlike our stay with Red House, we were not allowed into our this house until exactly 3pm when they texted us a code to open door, the lady hung up on us when we called to inquire why our luggage had not been delivered by the time promised after paying handsomely and the furniture was worn/ripped/stained. Thank you Marco and Red House for treating us so nicely!

Character and charm
Loved the quiet yet lovely location. The vaporetto stop is quite close and connects you well to the touristy parts of Venice. The kitchen and bathrooms are very modern and well maintained. The place is charming, clean, and comfortable. Beware, it’s on the second floor, so there are many steps with no landing in front of the door.

Great location! Comfortable floor plan!
We loved this place! Only challenge was the air conditioning which didn’t work very well. The property Manager, Gia, was very responsive and restarted the air but it didn’t work correctly until our last day.

Great location!
Our family, eight persons and three generations, found the apartment spacious and comfortable. The view of the canal was an asset! We could watch the boat traffic all day. There are good restaurants nearby as well as tragetto stop. We all enjoyed our stay and wish it had been longer,

Fabulous
The apartment absorbed ten people with ease, was warm when it was cold outside, has a well appointed kitchen and is very close to good shops and markets. Christmas was a delight. The kids did not want to go home which says a lot!

Great location
There were 8 of us who stayed here - 4 couples with most of us in our 60's, and the apartment accommodated us very well. It was a nice combination of old world charm with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. We were greeted promptly at the vaporetto stop which is very close to the apartment and Sophie walked us to the apartment where she gave us a tour of the apartment and told us where we would find a grocery store and how to get to main points of interest. The kitchen had everything we needed and the dining room table was large enough we could enjoy our meals together. 3 of the bedrooms had queen or king-size beds, and the other 2 had 2 twin beds. There are a few things I would like to point out. It is up 36 stairs with no elevator. One bedroom has an attached bathroom. The other two bathrooms are side by side next to the kitchen and laundry room, not by the bedrooms. However they are very modern - one with a shower and the other with a large tub. The twin beds are probably fine for children, but were not comfortable for the 2 adults who had to sleep there. In each room one twin bed is a couch and the other is the type you find in a camp dormitory with no box springs. The larger beds were comfortable. The couch and chairs are well worn almost to the point of being uncomfortable. However, the livingroom floor is made of the same marble you see in the Doge's Palace and the light fixtures are Murano glass, so quite a contrast.
It is about a 30 minute walk to St. Mark's Square if you walk briskly and don't window shop on the way. The vaporetto or water taxi is just a few yards away.
It had a few minor inconveniences, but I would still recommend it for a large group and you will enjoy your stay.

Great location near the train station and many restaurants. We had 10 adults and a baby and it worked really well for us for 4 nights.

Nice large apartment for 8-10, canal view close to train
We rented this apartment to be on the canal for the water parade at opening of Carnevale. Perfect location for the show. Nice restaurants and cafe nearby, vaporetto (waterbus) stop just a few steps away. 1-2 stops on the Aliliguna traghetto (water transit) from the airport (orange line, Guglie stop). Nice fully equipped kitchen, 3 double bedrooms & 2 single rooms with a second bed available in each, very comfortable for up to 10 guests. There are 2 flights of stairs up to the apartment. 2 shared bathrooms & 1 ensuite. It was an easy walk to St marks square, took us about 45 minutes stopping to take photos all among the way, I recommend taking the vaporetto back, sit at the front to take pics & enjoy the view on the grand canal. Only a 5 minute walk to the train station. The original doorway to the Jewish ghetto is a few meters from the apartment. Take a tour & enjoy this unique piece of history.

Wonderful place for a group
Clean, well presented accommodation. Would recommend it to any groups. Would be happy to come back again. Kitchen was really well fitted out with large saucepans and new equipment. Near a canal stop. Quiet. Sophie met us at the boat stop and made sure we were all cared for. Assisted us with extra keys too. Felt sad to leave.

Longing to go back
The apartment was wonderful. The views of the canal were fabulous and so convenient to the vaporetto. The security buzzer and camera was really helpful. The facilities of the apartment were excellent and having a representative ( Gaia ) meet and great us was so good. Thank you for a fabulous time and hope to be back next year.

The apartment is very nicely decorated and located in a quiet neighbor along the canal, easy to reach with the vaporetto. Small shops, bars and restaurants very near.

Spacious, Modern, Clean Out of Main Tourist Area
Great apartment capable of accommodating a large group - modern kitchen, modern bathrooms, nice view over canal, great main room for group dining--all in a good location - not too far from the action but not in a main tourist part of town. Close to some very nice venetian restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores etc - Overall my group was very pleased with Caroline's apt and would definitely stay there again.

A beautiful apartment which we highly recommend.
A beautiful apartment which we highly recommend.
We booked the apartment on fewo-direct.de and from than on the whole reservation and booking went absolutely smooth and all our questions were answered within a few hours. Arriving in Venice, Gaia gave us a really warm welcome and showed us the whole apartment and explained everything to us without any rush. The location is the perfect starting point for daily exploration of Venice. Directly in front of the house there is the waterbus station Guglie from where all major places of Venice can be reached well. Main stations of train and bus are only a 10 minutes walk away and St. Mark's Square can be reached by foot in 30 minutes. The apartment is well equipped, furnished and decorated. The very large kitchen offers enough space for a large family and is also well equipped (there could just be a few more wine glasses). The rooms and bathrooms also offer a lot of space and all the rooms, the bathrooms and kitchen are very clean. We would not hesitate to come back!
Thank you for the nice stay in Venice. We can highly recommend the apartment to everybody!

A very nice place to stay in Venice
We've been 8 or 9 times in Venezia but it was the first time we rent a flat. We stayed each time in a different area. This is why we appreciated so much the situation of the flat: not to crowded and really in and near the areas where venezian people live, calm neighborhood, perfect to go everywhere, really good restaurants nearby such as anice stellato, vini da gigio, or trattoria alla palazzina. We were kindly welcomed by the manager and the place itself was really nice, practical, clean and well furnished. We strongly recommend this place.
