We had a great week enjoying summer in the alps. Great having an outdoor pool in the village as well as the indoor one at the Residence. Great, easy communications - everything exceeded our expectations

This was one of the most idyllic settings and vacations! Everything was seen to in terms of greeting, familiarization with the accommodation and the sheer beauty of the surrounding area, which was even more spectacular from the very large terrace! The 2 weeks we let this flat went by too quickly, and we hope to return again, soon. It was very easy to reach Chateau d’Oex by rail, and travel was easy to Interlaken, Bern, Gstaadt, Zermatt and Montreux. The hikes up the mountain were breathtaking. What a beautiful place: the flat, Chateau d’Oex and the people and country!

We, a family with two children, enjoyed our holiday in this apartment very much. The apartment is extremely well-equipped and very cosy. Absolutely fantastic is the view which we enjoyed every day on the amazing terrace. Additionally, it was great to use the swimming pool and the garden too, especially as it was very hot when we stayed in Chateaux d'Oex. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Kenneth, the owner, provided a lot of useful information about the apartment and the area beforehand. Joy, the lettings manager, was very kind and helpful too. We would definitely recommend this apartment!

We don't have enough wonderful things to say about this place! The apartment is gorgeous, the view is incredible, and the woman who greeted us (Joy) was truly a gift! We felt cared for and as if we were family. We were very sad to leave. You must stay here!

Lovely and immaculate apartment that was just perfect for two couples. Well supplied kitchen. We enjoyed our downtime just gazing at the view.

We have visited Chateau-d'Oex many times and this was our 3rd stay in this lovely apartment. Inside - it is well equipped, furnished and decorated to a high standard yet still very comfortable. Outside - the very large terrace is still a big attraction for us along with the breath-taking views that can be seen from it. It is lovely to have the use of the swimming pool, although we would suggest the hours between which it can be used are a little restrictive as they tend to be when we are out doing other things. It would therefore be nice to be able to have access both earlier in the morning and later in the evening. There is also a gym that appears well equipped but as we have only ever looked at it, never used it, we cannot say more. In the communal lounge area there are games, books and jigsaws for general use. We have added to the collection. Chateau-d'Oex itself remains as unspoilt now as it was all those years ago when I first started visiting, although it is sad that the de l'Ours Brasserie has now closed down. The Station buffet, however, seems to go from strength to strength and is still (in our opinion) one of the best eateries in town. Our thanks to the apartment owner, Kenneth Grant, for being so kind and accommodating and making the whole booking process very easy. Our thanks also to Joy de Dycker, the lettings manager, for her kindness and consideration during our stay. We will be back!

Stayed three nights in this beautiful apartment with fantastic views to pastures and mountains. Great service and information about the area. The apartment is located in a charming village and within easy driving access to so many interesting sights. Very recommendable.

We spent a week in Chateau d'Oex in this wonderful apartment. It was perfect for us, very well equipped with everything we could hope for. The apartment is beautifully decorated and the pool and gym were a bonus. To top it all off, a huge balcony with an absolutely amazing view... definitely the wow factor. Thank you to Joy for welcoming us so warmly, and to Kenneth for making the whole process so easy.

I already knew the area but from another valley .However, this apartment was beautifully appointed amongst glorious scenery and contained every home comfort one could need. We visited a selection of scenic and interesting places - Gruyere, Thun, Lake Geneva and Chateau de Chillon, Bern, Gstaad and Les Diablerets, Our entire trip was enhanced by glorious weather and meals both at the apartment and on our visits were eaten outside. The enormous terrace was a great bonus. A dip in the pool during such hot weather was very therapeutic. The tranquil surroundings did not put us in an isolated position as food supplies and fuel for the car were within easy reach.

This lovely apartment has everything you need for the perfect holiday, whether you want to be active (skiing/walking/etc) or simply chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet and gorgeous view. A huge attraction for us is this apartment’s fabulous terrace - far larger and better than the more usual balconies some apartments have. We’ve spent many happy hours just sitting with a glass of wine watching the birds and sunsets. Even when the weather isn’t so great, the big picture window still enables easy viewing of the idyllic scenery. There are only two very slight draw-backs as far as we are concerned and they are very minor indeed and certainly not the fault of apartment itself: 1. We find the swimming pool water too cool to be pleasant and we usually only manage one ‘dip’ per stay just to say we tried it. 2. Although the apartment block is only a short walk from the town centre and is all downhill going out, it’s quite a steep climb for the last few hundred yards on the way back. Helps to get us fit though! We’ve stayed here twice now and certainly hope to be back again, and again……need I say more?

We are a Swiss family with two kids and we all agreed it was the best ski holiday we'd ever taken! The apartment is very cosy, nicely decorated, with plenty of storage space and good beds. The bright living room and bedrooms are facing south overlooking a big terrace. It is situated in a residence with swimming pool, sauna, big inviting lobby with games and books, a business center, parking. It has the facilities of a good big hotel without crowd and inconveniences: it is very quite and private indeed. Guests can also use a ski room and a laundry room (it was very helpful for drying swimming suits and kids ski clothes). There are two managers, one welcoming the guests and the other taking care of the facility, both very nice and helpful. Mr Kenneth Grant, the owner, was also very kind and helpful during reservation. Thank you, Kenneth, we loved every minute of our stay! PS: Your will have to take the car to reach the ski lifts in the region. It can be 5 to 20 min long ride depending where you want to ski. The ski domain is big, but not always connecting on skis. Ski domain maps are available on gstaad.ch

We wanted to thank you so VERY much for our week in paradise - we had the most magical stay in your beautiful apartment. It was so spacious and welcoming, and the views from every room were absolutely stunning. The biggest ‘wow’ factor was the gigantic private terrace! We could have invited the entire village up for drinks, lol. We loved having breakfast every morning and dinner every night on the terrace, with the most magnificent views of the village and mountains all around us. And at sunset, we’d enjoy the views of the church all lit up over a glass of wine. We felt like we had the entire Résidence Rosat to ourselves! The tranquility and beauty of your place is out of a fairy tale. You are very lucky to own a piece of Heaven :-) Angelo and Patrick were extremely helpful and responsive. It was reassuring to know that they were there if we ever needed assistance with anything. Your apartment is in the perfect location for exploring the area, and there are so many incredible activities, especially for families. We were able to go to La Braye one day, Wispile and Gstaad, Schönreid and Rellerli (the toboggan run is a blast!), Gruyères, and Broc for the Maison Cailler chocolate factory (where I ate WAY too much chocolate, lol). We also loved just staying at 'home', and exploring the charming village of Château d'Œx (we went mini-golfing, played at the park, and also made the short walk to Le Berceau outdoor swimming pool – a must if you have kids!). We had the most incredible experiences - and over 5,000 photos filled with memories we will always cherish. Once we get a bit more organized here, we will send you some photos of our stay (don't worry, we'll narrow it down to just a handful, lol). This apartment had all we needed for a great stay -very clean, well presented with lots of space. The terrace was a great place to relax. We used the swimming pool a lot & generally had it to ourselves. If you have kids, it is useful to know that La Residence also has giant chess in the grounds & board games in the huge lounge area. There's lots to do in Chateau d'Oeux & the surrounding area - plenty of things to keep children entertained. In the town itself is the mini golf course with a couple of very challenging holes. The bowling alley is really clean & modern & has table tennis, air hockey etc - not busy but good fun. Eating out at the Richemont is recommended & they have a pool table. The outdoor pool at Le Berceau is heated & huge - only a 3 minute drive from the Apartment or an easy walk - a children's paddling pool, a shallower area for children, a huge main pool with spring board, a laned off section, a great water slide, restaurant, changing rooms & table tennis & spotless. We also got a discount on the entry fee when we mentioned we were staying in Chateau d'Oeux. Le Sentier des Fourmis (the Ant Walk) is a walk from the top of La Braye (at the top of the chair lift) - takes about 1 1/2 hours through fields & woods downhill back to the top of the cable car. There are information boards along the way about wood ants, picnic areas and a children's play area. It is easy for kids to complete and all for free! The next village, Rosseniere, was holding Le Royaume des Chats which seems to be an annual event in the summer. All around the village are cat sculptures made by children, professional artists etc & it is in honour of the artist Balthus who lived in the village. Armed with a map which marks the location of the statues you get to walk all round the village trying to spot all the cats which is not as easy as it sounds. Again all free & good fun. There are places further afield which are interesting for children and if you like castles we would recommend both the castle at Gruyeres and Chateau Chillon near Montreux - we took the train to Montreux, a boat on the lake to the castle and walked back along the lakeside. The salt mine at Bex is also worth a visit - a small train takes you right inside the mine & children get to do some mining at the end! It gets busy - we booked online the night before. We would really recommend this area & definitely this apartment - we hope to be back soon.

We returned to this apartment for a second visit as it provides everything one needs for a relaxing holiday. This is by far the most luxurious apartment we have discovered on our trips around Europe. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped with high quality appliances and very tastefully furnished. The owners excellent insight into the needs of their tenants is apparent in the well organised and informative information pack. Their attention to fine detail is in evidence throughout the apartment, even down to the provision of continental electrical plug adaptors for English three-pin appliances. The apartment's exceptionally quiet location coupled with the very comfortable, soft mattress in the double bedroom meant we slept well and awoke refreshed. The apartment, which affords splendid views over Chateau D'Oex, is situated on a hill in La Frasse, a one kilometre walk from the station. During our stay we covered most of the picturesque local walks and then explored further afield with the benefit of the good value Geneva Regional Pass. On hot days we cooled off on boat trips around Lake Thun and Lake Geneva, easily accessed by train from Chateau D'Oex. The local trains have panoramic carriages, even for 2nd class passengers, which enable one to fully appreciate the exceptional beauty of the Saanen Valley, between Chamby and Gstaad. And for nostalgics there are trains with 'Classic' carriages which depart from Chateau d'Oex around midday, which evoke memories of even more leisurely and luxurious rail travel. Our only disappointment was that the region's wide variety of cable cars and ski lifts, (which were included in our Geneva Regional Pass), undergo their annual maintenance during the month of June. Thus, we were unable to extend the scope for walks with great views on this visit. On our return from outings we looked forward to a relaxing swim & sauna before early evening drinks on the terrace. Perhaps the greatest compliment we can pay the owners is that we felt so utterly relaxed in their apartment, that we never even felt tempted to go out of an evening or to visit any of the, apparently excellent, local restaurants. All we wanted to do was to dine in, to maximise the time spent in the luxurious surroundings of our temporary 'Home'.

We spent a week in late May at this lovely apartment and would highly recommend it! The building has been beautifully restored and this ground floor apartment was perfect for us with my husband’s parents. It is very conveniently laid out with a bedroom and bath on either side of the salon, and the nice kitchen made it possible for us to eat many meals enjoying the lovely view from the terrace. The resident manager was very helpful and the building has lots of amenities, which add to a wonderful stay—indoor pool was beautiful! The apartment and shared facilities were very clean and nicely furnished. The apartment owner was extremely easy to work with and provided LOTS of helpful information including driving directions, suggestions for things to do in the area as well as information on shopping and parking. We rented a car and drove from the Geneva airport, and we found the car especially helpful for my in-laws, who have a bit of trouble walking on steep hills. We also had rail passes and found travel from Chateau d’Oex very easy by train, traveling to Montreaux, Lucerne and Wengen. We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment!

Ideal location on the Golden Pass rail line, Chateau d'Oex is a lovely typical Swiss village. The apartment is a pleasant (but partly uphill) 15 minute walk from the train station and 5 minute walk to the village making it a great base. The owner provided excellent information before the holiday which enabled us to properly plan our holiday, There was nothing we needed to know that we were not made aware of. We were met by Angelo who was professional but friendly and provided us all the necessary information about the apartment and facilities at the complex, The entire complex was as described and a bit more. Patrick the Manager was also very helpful and friendly and gave some good tips on days out. The apartment was spotless when we arrived and had everything you could need for a holiday. The Terrace was wonderful with great views and plenty of furniture (just as the picture suggests) and we saw almost daily hot air balloons drifting past. We will have no hesitation in recommending this property to Friends and family who want to experience the beauty of Switzerland with the comfort of home. Using the Swiss regional pass ticket (which saved a lot of money) rather than hiring a car enabled us to enjoy all the views as the efficient train, bus and boat systems could be relied on and were all very comfortable using the 2nd class ticket. The Swiss people are very friendly and even if they spoke as little English as we did French were able to provide good service. Recommended places to visit would be Gstaad, Gruyeres, Spiez, Montreaux and the Chillon castle, a boat trip on lake Geneva, but an absolute must is Rochers-de-Naye the views are breathtaking. We cant wait for another Swiss holiday in Chateau d'Oex

Just back from a perfect week in Chateau D'Oex. The appartment was ideal with great facilities (pool and sauna). This is the third time at the resort and would highly recommend it. The skiing was great and a sector 1 pass with a 5 min train journey to Rougemount opens up the skiing all the way to Gstaad. Found all the locals very friendly and the coop in the village proved very handy. The appartment is furnished to a very high standard and we will definately be heading back, winter or summer.

This is a superbly equipped apartment with magnificent views. It accommodates four adults comfortably and the outside balcony space is the best in the block, from where you can enjoy the scenery that is even better than expected. The apartment is situated about 1/2 mile from the centre of Chateau D'Oex, up a fairly steep hill, so if you don't take a car you need to be prepared for this. This was not a problem for us, as we went for some fresh air and exercise, both of which are in plentiful supply. The 'Gstaad Easy Access Pass' is worth looking at, especially if you fancy going up the half a dozen or so cable cars that operate in summer months. These passes are 12 SF per person per day, for a minimum of three days, and give you free access to the cable cars and (most) trains to get to them (some of the panoramic trains are excluded). When you consider that the cable car in Chateau D'Oex (for example) is 20 SF per person alone, the passes soon pay for themselves. Otherwise there are some fantastic walks to be enjoyed, limited only by fitness! The paths are very well signposted, giving a rough idea in hours / minutes of how far away your destination is. There is a leaflet that shows some of the popular routes, which is very useful. We walked to Rougemont, Rossiniere and down from La Braye, which is the local summit (if it's wet the lower parts are quite tricky as they become slippery). We also hired bikes and used similar 'off-road' routes to reach Gstaad, an activity which we'd also recommend. If you have any energy left, the gym and pool in the apartment block are both good. The outside pool in Chateau D'Oex is huge (50m x 25m) and also worth a visit on days where it's too hot to do much else. Entrance is cheap and the cafe / bar good value / quality. Switzerland is quite expensive, especially with the exchange rate as it is. However, Le Richemont at the bottom of the hill serves good quality food (especially pizzas) at very reasonable prices and has a lively atmosphere. Otherwise the local Co Op is well stocked, so eating at the apartment and enjoying the views was never a hardship. A holiday at the Rosat complex can be whatever you want to make it - relaxing in the sun, simply enjoying the views, walking, cycling and sightseeing - in any combination you wish. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and would have no hesitation recommending this apartment. We'll definitely be back. Evans family - August 2011

Apartment was great , photos do not do this place justice !!!. We never tired of looking at the views from the balcony and was wonderful waking up and looking out . The apartment has everything you need and was a pleasure to return to at the end of a tiring day - immaculate/clean . The village has lots of nice reataurants/cafes and a coop supermarket - make note of the closing times !! . The connections to Gruyere and Gstaad were easy to get to . I hope to return soon !!!
