Stunning apartment. The view is constantly changing and endlessly fascinating.
Affacciato su tutto il porto di Fowey, questo appartamento ben presentato offre una vista mozzafiato dal soggiorno e dalla cucina. Solo un paio di centinaia di metri dal Lugger Inn e il molo della città al centro di questo villaggio di pescatori della Cornovaglia per eccellenza. La cabina del capitano si trova al piano terra dell'edificio con accesso attraverso un ingresso comune. L'appartamento è tutto su un unico livello con il soggiorno sul davanti, godendo della fantastica vista del porto attraverso le enormi vetrate. C'è una stufa a legna accogliente nel soggiorno che rende l'appartamento super caldo durante la corsa. La cucina è in stile cambusa e gode anche dei panorami. La camera da letto sul retro beneficia di un letto matrimoniale da 6 'che può essere diviso in due singoli da 3', se questa è la vostra preferenza per la sistemazione per la notte. Questo rende l'appartamento ideale per solo un paio di amici che condividono così come le coppie.

What a great place!
Wonderful bay window view of the bay, Fowey, and sunset. Kitchen is well-appointed, shower excellent, bed excellent, everything was great. Owners gave good information about location and local things to do. This is an excellent choice, look no further.
A few things to be aware of about the town (Polruan): 1) the roads getting there are narrow (1-1.5 lanes), 2) the roads in town are too narrow for cars so you have to park above town and walk 7 minutes on paved lanes to get to the apartment (not a problem for us but worth noting) and 3) there's not a lot of grocery store options in town, so stock up before coming.

Captains cabin is lovely. Not just the location, but the owners care about their guests comfort and provide many essential basics. We were especially lucky with the weather, but come rain or come shine this property is a wonderful place to holiday and explore the surrounding area.

This apartment gave us the best short break holiday we have had to date. Everything was spot on but what made it was the location, and the simply amazing view from the lounge bay windows and kitchen - overlooking Fowey and the river estuary - better than watching TV - with the world going past on water. Coastal walks were fantastic and what a refreshing change to go out on the local town by water taxi. The whole experience was fabulous!

Absolutely amazing apartment, perfect base to explore either side of the river or just sit in the window seat for hours watching boats go by and people go about their business. Take away fish and chips from the Lugger are a must and if you get a sunny day then head back up to the carpark for sunset.

I really just wanted to move in and never leave. What a special, special, special home. Beautiful views inside and outside, and you felt very much part of a fishing village community. I especially liked how quiet it was and away from the tourist craze (even though I myself am a tourist!). Stay here, you won't want to leave either!

My husband and myself have not long returned from what can only be described as a perfect break …. The captains cabin was every bit as good as described and more …. We are already missing watching life out in the harbour through that wonderful bay window …

The view from the sitting room window was spectacular. We had a wonderful time exploring new places , including the Eden Project and the Hidden Hut in Portscatho. Visiting St. Mawes and the surrounding area was a day of reminiscing for me as I holidayed there as a child. The Lugger was a great place to eat at the end of the day. I just wish we had stayed longer as there were so many more places we wanted to see. We had such a lovely time, thank you

We loved our stay in Polruan. The apartment was great for us. The view is mesmerising. The host was easily contactable and a pleasure to deal with. Make sure to take the ferry to Fowey. Thoroughly enjoyable stay 😊.

We have just had the best long weekend at the Captain’s Cabin. Walking in, the view is exactly like the photos and it is so relaxing just taking it all in. The apartment was top class and we would re visit in a heartbeat!

Just watching the Fowey Estuary is so addictive - you can waste hours away
you do need to be reasonably fit - climbing the path to the car park is a good short workout

Harbour panorama
Lovely flat with views over the water towards Fowey .Frequent ferry crossings. Comfy bed everything you could need . Fantastic bakery close by with fresh bread and homemade jam. Parking at top of hill but can drop off luggage at quayside.

Fabulous property with exceptional views
All previous reviews were entirely accurate. This is wonderful and cared for property with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The views from the lounge window are wonderful looking across the estuary to Fowey. It is clear that the owners have a real love for this property as this is in evidence throughout the house. All communication was perfect, timely and more importantly accurate.
Thanks to Jeremy and Mel for letting us use their house. We were really grateful for the Prosecco, milk and nibbles - that was a very nice touch indeed!

Traumhafte Aussicht in wunderschöner Wohnung
Die "Captain Cabin" ist eine Wohnung zum wohlfühlen!!! Alles sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail! Willkommensgruß und gut ausgestattete Wohnung, in der es an nichts fehlt! Dank der guten Informationen im Vorfeld durch Jeremy hat alles unkompliziert geklappt. Das Highlight dieser Wohnung ist definitiv die Aussicht aus dem Wohnzimmer!!!! Wir würden jederzeit wieder in diese wunderschöne Unterbringung kommen!

Lovely apartment with stunning view
The Captains Cabin is as lovely as described. Everything you need for a stay in beautiful Polruan. The view is something else, such a lovely scene to look out on each morning, and the daily crossing over to Fowey was a bonus. The Prosecco was a great surprise, and our host Jeremy was really helpful. I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore this fantastic part of Cornwall.

Booked for wedding guests
Despite us having to cancel the booking twice due to Covid restrictions, the hosts were very accommodating.
We booked for guests attending our daughter's wedding, they loved the apartment and said the views were amazing. Will definitely look to book again next time we are in Cornwall.

What a find
A last minute booking as our trip abroad had been cancelled but how lucky were we. Beautiful apartment, fabulous location with stunning views across the estuary. The apartment was equipped to a very high standard and really welcoming. We enjoyed delicious meals in the local restaurants and found stunning coastal walks. A little gem.

Clean, bright, comfortable with views that demand your attention day or night. We loved the apartment last time and nothing has changed this time. We will definitely book again as the Captain’s Cabin and Polruan are amongst our favourite places to be.

Captain's Cabin...we unreservedly recommend this excellent apartment
From prelim calls to owner, to the welcoming prosecco, roses and basic supplies provided in kitchen, we knew this was going to be a happy stay. And so it proved. Lovely spacious, clean, light apartment. Well equipped. And the pleasure of the estuary and harbour panorama from the lounge window ! Top of the list of the many properties we have stayed in in Polruan

Work stay
Jeremey`s property is perfect for 2 people to get away to some peace and quiet. We worked from the lounge with glorious views over the river and in between times managed to walk the cliffs. The flat has everything that you need, the bed was very comfortable with lovely cotton linen and the brownies/prosecco /milk were all great homely touches. We have a copy of the brownie recipe from the "information " folder and will be making some at home!
The local neighbours were all very friendly and helpful as well, so many thanks to Jeremy and Mel for such a great break.

Just the best!
This is pretty well the nicest apartment we have ever stayed in. really well presented and a lovely view over Fowey harbour. Immaculate throughout, quiet and snug. Good galley kitchen. Great position for local pubs (good beer and grub) and the passenger ferry across to Fowey. Easy (uphill) access to lovely walks and beaches.

Perfect!
So pleased we chose this property for our short break in Polruan. As my review title states, everything was just perfect!!! Comfortable and warm , if it belonged to me I wouldn’t change a thing. Very happy that we had the opportunity to stay here, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Prosecco and biscuits which had been left on the table.
Will hopefully stay again sometime and sit looking out at the stunning view from the sitting room.

A really clean, well equipped appartment in a great location. I messed up the original booking and Jeremy couldn't have been more helpful in re arranging dates. We have stayed in Polruan previously and you'll have to look hard to beat this.
