Ideal location for exploring Florence/Mugello region. Property needs some work and professionalism.

- Excellent location for exploring Florence and the Mugello region. - The house is very spacious with a lot of mod cons. - There is a great restaurant a 10-minute walk away, which opens late. - The host was friendly and gave us several excellent insider's tips, and tried hard to solve problems. - I think the property could be absolutely stunning when it is properly finished (e.g. second bathroom installed, garden cleaned up).

- The house is a little "unfinished" and there was a lack of transparency about this. - Zero internet as advertised. A technician came on our second day to try and install internet but it didn't work for the duration of our stay. - The washing machine was located in a second bathroom which was still being built and contained some workmen's clothes, which was not very professional. The window here was newly installed and it was not possible to securely close it. - There are several instances of loose wires coming out of the walls - including by the children's bunk bed! In the children's room, there was also a non-functioning self-contained kitchen unit where a wardrobe should be - seemed very strange. - No air con. - A very untidy garden, full of junk - we didn't let the children play there. The sun loungers look old and unappealing. The owners could spend one day sorting this stuff out, and it would make a much better impression. They did come to mow the lawn half way through our stay.. - Some things lacking in the kitchen: kettle, sieve, wine glasses, cereal bowls. - Some of the pots and pans in the cupboards were very dirty. On arrival, the dishwasher was running - when I emptied it, one of the pans seemed to have white mould in it. - There was a large DVD collection but no DVD player, which was very frustrating for the kids! - No BBQ as advertised, but the host provided one on the second day. - We also needed better information concerning the waste separation and disposal - the host clarified this for us, but a nice info book for guests in different languages would be helpful.
