About this cabin rental
Weekday lake stays: quieter, lower rates Mon-Wed, Book now! The cabin sits in quiet Mokins Bay, a 25-minute drive from the town of Hayden. Beautiful views circle around you from every angle.
Mokins bay is a no-wake zone and remains extremely quiet during all seasons of the year. Because of the tranquility of the location, fish can be seen almost daily swimming near the beach or dock.
The location also has a private dock right off of your private beach, which is wonderful for swimming, sunbathing, boating, and fishing. The dock can be open and available for those travelers wishing to bring their boat or jet skis.
Just a short boat ride to the end of the bay, and you will be at the best swimming location on the lake. Known to many as the Sandbar, you will find white sand beneath the crystal clear water. The Sandbar is wonderful for swimming or just relaxing on your boat.
The hills behind the home are state-owned and great for wilderness hikes. Wildlife, such as deer, elk, moose, and turkey can often be seen here. There are also many trails close by for mountain biking.
For those looking for a more relaxing vacation, just step out onto the back deck and watch the birds sore over the water and the fish swim beneath it.
Inside the home, you will find two bedrooms and a bunk room. The main bedroom is located on the main floor with a queen bed. Wake up in this room to overlook the lake. The upstairs bedroom also has a queen bed, and the bunk room has a bunk bed ( twin on top and full bed on bottom.) There is a twin fold-out bed available upon request. In the bunk room, you will also find a TV with a DVD player.
On the main floor, you will find a living room with flat-screen TV ( local Chanel’s) and DVD player, a kitchen (with dishwasher) and an eating area. The deck has a propane fire table, chairs, an eating bar with stools, and propane BBQ. A great place to watch the sunset over dinner.
Everything you need from linens to towels and cooking utensils can be found here. Clothing, food and a camera should be all you will need to bring.
Things to know:
No wifi (internet) and limited cell service, not all providers will work. Verizon and AT&T calls and texting work most of the time with very little data streaming.
The rock path leading down to the lake/dock is semi-steep and may not be suitable for all.
Limited Parking - parking area is above the cabin 2 cars will fit angled, some additional off-road parking may be available on the opposite side of the road

We’re frequent visitors to Hayden Lake, first time at this property. The location was wonderful, nice sandy beach, tons of water craft for the family to enjoy, excellent fishing area, the sandbar is close and so fun for any age. Great place to relax, hike, fish, boat etc.

Great spot and host. Wasps were bad this year but is being addressed. Thanks Bill!

Property was as advertised. We showed up and didn't leave for the entire stay. Had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time. We brought our boat and the host provided some suggestions on parking the trailer that worked out great. The water temp was hitting 80F in the cove and the vegetation was growing in but kids still had a good time at the dock and the sand bar. had to clear the boat prop when we got out to deeper water. Not anything the host can do about that but something to be aware of. It was a hot week but with attention to the house and blinds and A/Cs we kept the house cool.

This is a great place to go somewhat off grid. The neighbors were mostly nice, but close. The road to get here is long and windy so be prepared for that. The parking is essentially street parking and fit our two SUVs tightly. Overall a good place to stay for fishing and canoeing

This was a really nice place. Very clean and the owner was very communicative. The view was amazing. They supplied all kinds of fun water toys for the family. Great place for the price.
A couple pointers:
The stairs to get to the property and down to the water are very steep so keep that in mind when booking.
The parking said 2-3 vehicles however we barely fit our truck and SUV.

Had a wonderfully relaxing time with our crew at this Hayden lake gem. Enjoyed all the provided watercrafts. Wishing the slough had a bit less aquatic grasses for swimming, but the clean sands of the sandbar is just a short kayak from the dock.

We vacation primarily using Vrbo and have done so for 15 years. This was one of the few places that provided more than was listed. We had a great time. The kids fished and swam and played on the kayaks. We saw turtle , an otter, turtle and bald eagle. Lots of fish and lots to do. From 9 to 71, everyone had a great week.

This was my first time booking through VRBO, and I wasn’t disappointed. My family had a great experience with Bill. He was a fabulous communicator, and he answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The lake house was exactly as shared in the listing. We loved the welcoming experience of help yourself to what is available in the kitchen and the lake toys. It felt like a home away from home. We will definitely book again. Thanks Bill!

Perfect getaway for our family
Our family really enjoyed our introduction to Idaho at Bill’s lake house . The house was perfect, Bill thought of everything that we would need for our stay including huckleberry syrup for our pancakes😊.
Bill kindly let us know the lake was a little low this year, but it did not take away from its beauty and peacefulness. Would highly recommend!! Thank you, Bill!

Great family summer vacation
The property owner was great to work with...a proactive communicator. The house was clean and well stocked with items a family would need to cook and clean with. The house came with several great water toys (kayaks, paddle boat, row boat, etc.). Beautify view! Our family / friends had a wonderful time hanging out on the huge dock, and taking the water toys to the nearby sandbar to hangout and play. Many wonderful memories were made at the property.

Great Lake House
The house was great with an updated patio that had a beautiful view! The patio and dock both had propane fire pits and outdoor furniture. It’s close to the sandbar which made for great swimming. Due to abnormally low water levels we could not swim off of the dock and fishing was not great. Overall beautiful property with an excellent host who was great to work with.

Wonderful lake property
Beautiful lake house perfect for a relaxing getaway with family. Location is superb. House is stocked with everything you need to enjoy Hayden Lake. Excellent host, quick to respond with any questions we had.

Amazing stay on the lake
We stayed here with two families, including two toddlers, an infant, and an older child. The house worked out well for our group. The lake is amazing and we spent most of the time at the sandbar, which is perfect for families as its shallow and warm. Adults can swim off the dock also, but the bottom of the lake in front of the house is very deep soft muck and isn't suitable for kids as they would sink in. One thing to note is that the bunk room does not have a door so we couldn't have our younger kids sleep there as we had hoped. It was during an extreme heat wave and the entire area had power cuts. We lost power briefly also. The owner was extremely responsive and offered to help or refund the stay in case we lost power for longer. We would love to stay again!

Lovely property for 4th of July getaway weekend. Everything we needed for a lovely retreat with friends and family. Our kids loved the kayaks and peddle boat and was just a short jaunt to the sandbar to get in on the boat tie ups and holiday festivities

Hidden Gem!
This place is a gem! We discovered this year year last minute during COVID and had such a great time we rebooked for this summer to celebrate the end of the school year.
Super private lot at the end of Mokins Slough, great fishing area (if your five year old has more patience than mine), plenty of water toys (3 kayaks, a pedal boat, and a rowboat), awesome new deck with a gas fireplace (and there's a gas fireplace down on the dock too). Very well stocked kitchen and bathroom and all the little things like laundry detergent, sunscreen, a puzzle, movies, cozy blankets, laundry hampers, etc.
We'll be coming back next year!

A perfect getaway
We loved this property and Bill was so friendly and helpful! He went the extra mile by emailing me about the fishing opportunities before our trip and letting me know when the cabin was ready before the scheduled check in time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could have wanted/needed. We would love to make it a yearly trip.

Relaxing lake retreat
What an enjoyable stay at this lake house! It definitely exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean, and we were left with plenty of extra water for the filter system. Washer and dryer are new, which was nice to have. We thoroughly enjoyed using all the water craft. There are plenty of adult life vests, so bring along one or buy one once you arrive to fit any younger kids. You can get one pretty cheaply. Fishing poles were made available with some basic lures. We stopped off and bought a few extras. We didn't have any luck catching anything, but the neighbor kid did, and it is clearly a good spot, as other fisherman came into the surrounding area from time to time. However, this did not interfere with any of our activities. There is also a small beach, which many properties on the lake do not have. Most just have a dock. Speaking of docks, the dock was larger than many others and enjoyable to sit out on while watching the kids or just having a drink. Great, great, great stay here. Oh, and the communication was phenomenal. We would definitely stay here again.

Greatl lake cabin
We had a wonderful time at Hayden Lake! The cabin was great! It had everything we needed. Everything was comfortable and thoughtfully done.
The dock was outstanding.! So spacious! Lots of seating. The umbrellas were nice in the middle of the day. The fire table was fun in the evening. We had two waterski boats with us and the dock easily accommodated them. It was so fun to use the kayaks as well. We swam from the dock some, but swimming was best at the sandbar area.
Thanks for the use of your cabin. We had a great week!

Great getaway!
This was a great getaway for our family. The location is amazing, at the end of Morins Bay, very very calm and quiet - there are no houses to the left hand side. Bill provided three kayaks, a row boat, a pedal boat, and fishing gear. We had three kids ages 4-8 and an infant with us. Plenty of room in the house. Very well stocked with supplies (even a bag of ice was in the freezer that let us keep some stuff in our cooler cold on the ride home). We rented a pontoon boat from Hayden Lake Marina one day and the kids had a blast tubing all day. The only thing to note is that the steps down to the lake are non-uniform stone and a little steep, with no handrail - which was fine, but wasn't obvious from the pictures. We will definitely be looking to come back here next year.

Best Last Minute Vacation!
Due to Coronavirus we had some plans change and scrambled to find something fun to do with the week off! Luckily for us this place was available!
The house was perfect! Great size, well kept, cute and simple. It was perfect for our family of 6. We loved the location. The calm waters made it easy to fish from the dock, use any of the water toys, or we could motor beyond the sandbar for more adventure. When the weather looked iffy, we'd take our dirt bikes and ride through the national forest. (Just be aware...There isn't a ton of designated parking so we ended up unloading bikes and storing our truck/trailer somewhere else that we had access to for the week.)
All in all, had we been planning for months I don't know that it would have been any better! It was a blast, and the property/owners were great! We'd love to stay here again!

Fun Getaway
We rented this property after having our Hawaii trip cancelled. The lake house was an escape that allowed us to relax at a Great Lake while Connecting with nature. It had everything we needed, was very clean and up to date. We made a lot of use of the kayaks and rowboat. Our teenagers were forced to do without their electronics and got a lot of exercise on the lake and going for long walks. The road getting there was long and windy, but the cove was peaceful and quiet. Would definitely do this again.

Beautiful Lakefront Vacation
We had a wonderful time! The lake house is way back on the lake, well appointed, and incredibly cozy. It felt like going to an uncle's house on the lake. Bill was wonderful and we loved being able to walk down the hill to the lake. If you can name it, Bill has thought of it in his home/cabin. I had previously asked if there was a baking set at the house and I noticed when we checked in that it was very easy to find and I can only assume that Bill make sure that it was available. We will be back!

Peaceful stay
We had a very relaxing weekend. We rented a pontoon boat from the Hayden Lake Marina and they delivered it right to the dock. It was the perfect spot to play on the boat all day - the sandbar just across the bay was great swimming for the kids.
The house is equipped well and stayed fairly cool despite 90 degree temps with two portable a/c units.
We watched a few movies from the selection of over 2000. We did a puzzle, and some fishing off the dock.
Bill was super responsive. The only negative was no WiFi or cell service from t-mobile, so be prepared to totally disconnect.

Cozy Getaway
My husband and I, along with our three grown children chose Hayden Lake as a convenient spot to meet for Labor Day weekend. Bill was upfront immediately and told me that the lake was the lowest it's been in years, but we did not have a boat, anyway. I appreciated his candor. This house indeed had everything that we needed. It is clean and comfortable. The view is fantastic! Be prepared for a curvy road from Coeur d'Alene, and make sure to bring all that you will need as you won't be able to run to the grocery store in a minute. But the solitude is wonderful if you want to kick back and relax. Of the many VRBO properties that we have rented over the years, this one was one of the best.

Lovely spot
The house is beautifully situated at one of the easternmost reaches of Hayden Lake, isolated from most of the boat noise of the rest of the lake. Between the deck, the private beach, and the kayaks, you'll have next to no reason to stay inside. We stayed for a few days midsummer—four adults and three frisky children—but I imagine it would be utterly beautiful early to mid autumn, as well.

Absolutely beautiful!
This cabin was amazing! There is plenty of room for 7 people. The house was loaded with things to do, including lots of movies, a fire pit, paddle boats, kayaks, and fishing. On top of that, the large windows gave a breathtaking view of the lake! The only downside was that we weren't able to get on the Internet on our phones, but it was well worth it! Definitely would love to come back!

Hayden lake cabin
We loved the cabin on Hayden lake. It was clean and comfortable with a great view. The only drawback was we could not swim at the beach below the cabin and about 3pm the west sun was blinding. Due to the close proximity to our daughter's house in Hayden the location was perfect.

Great Summer Vacation Spot
What an awesome cabin! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. The cabin is perfectly located on a quiet bay on Hayden Lake. The deck was so enjoyable in the evenings. Our teenagers loved the movie selections and the water sports. It was very quiet and clean. Such a great place to spend a few summer days/nights away from it all. We would highly recommend staying at this cabin. The owner was very helpful.

Hayden Lake getaway
My family had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful. Everything was there that we would need. We enjoyed the nice and quiet getaway. Hayden Lake Marina is awesome, i would definetely reccomend eating here. The owner made the process very simple. The pictures and decriptions were very accurate, so clean and comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful time.

LOVED IT! Gorgeous home, quiet location, great fishing. 10 out of 10!
As a regular VRBO renter, we have always had great experiences. But this one was the best ever. We will definitely be back!
OWNER: The owner has this home fully stocked - fishing poles, tackle, lots of food items (not just ketchup and mustard), comfy sheets and towels, hard drive full of movies (and lots of DVDs) for the flat screen TV....everything we needed was already there. The owner left us a hand written note, and when I called with questions was extremely helpful.
LOCATION: The quietest area on Hayden Lake, with some of the best fishing. Beautiful sand beach in front of home. Lots of wildlife, including Blue Heron and many other types of birds which can be viewed from deck of home, or dock. Entire area by house is a no wake zone. There are no houses to the left of this home, it has the rest of the bay to itself. I took my 9 year old son to the dock and he caught a fish on the first cast... literally as soon as the jig hit the water. My son and his friend caught 20 fish from the dock on the first day, including Crappie, Perch, and Smallmouth Bass.
HOME: Perfectly clean, and looks brand new. AC and Washer/Dryer. 2 Bedrooms upstairs, each with a bunk bed (double on bottom). Master bedroom on first floor. Perfect setup for a family.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
