They are both retired and completely respectful of your privacy. However, if you have questions about the home or area, your hosts are available. Please take your time reading through this site to become familiar with all the amenities.
Your lake vacation home sits on a little point in Carlin Bay and boasts wonderful views of the lake from almost every room. It has a southern exposure, so you can soak up the sunshine all day long on all the water toys we provide!
The house has central air conditioning. The ensuite master has a King Bed. The other two bedrooms have new Queen beds.Sleeping 6 comfortably. All Bedrooms are upstairs.
The country kitchen opens onto a spacious deck, just the right spot to enjoy a meal or watch the sunset with wine from our local winery that we have waiting for you. In the grassy front yard, sit in the shade of the pines and read a book or take a nap in the hammock. In the evening, roast marshmallows in the fire pit or BBQ up a yummy meal.
The house sits up on a hillside and has a maintained trail to the beach that includes a foot path and stairs. Please check out the photos to get a good idea of the walk down. The beach is in its natural state (basalt rock), a deck was built that leads out to the floating dock. This home is well stocked with spices, basic kitchen food items like olive oil, sugar, salt, flour & paper products as we want you to feel right at home. We had a phenomenal stay at Coeur D'Alene Lake in breath taking Carlin Bay.
Suanne and Mark have a beautiful home that is modern and clean with views of the lake from every room in the house.
Solid internet access.
Communicating with them was easy and they provided us with great ideas on places to visit and explore.
Their access to the lake below and their personal dock made going for a swim, kayaking, or just relaxing in the sun a pure joy.
The house is situated close to Coeur D'Alene and the quaint town of Harrison.
This home is a true taste of lake living and we had a fantastic stay.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy and relax on Coeur D'Alene Lake.
We will we be back!

We had a great time. The house is well stocked and comfortable. Some of the steps to the dock don’t have a handrail. It is steep and quite a climb but it does make for a gorgeous view.

We were returning to Carlin Bay for a family reunion. Having grown up there we were excited to have time on the lake again. Point Harnes and the hosts, Suanne and Mark, made us feel as if we had come home. A welcoming lakefront home for a perfect weekend! Thank you!

We had family staying just a half mile north, so this home offered us a great place to come to get some rest or some work done.
Nice, clean beds and home. Very well stocked kitchen and a lot of games to pass the time away.
Would love to come back again.

great location in lakeside position with excellent waterfront and "toys".
Somewhat spoilt as on our last afternoon owners and their family took over the dock area meaning we felt we couldn't access the canoes paddleboards etc, taking the edge off our enjoyment on our last day. Grandkids were especially looking forward to fishing but could not because of the owners young grandkids were in the fishing area,
Checkout processes were demanding - beds to be stripped, washer to be filled and dishwasher filled and started, and departure by 10:00am. We also had to take trash to the dumpster "up the road" (3 mile round trip) only to find somebody had locked it.
Did not meet current UK advertising campaign about property privacy.
In addition be aware that shopping for provisions requires round trip to Coeur d'Alene, facilities in Harrison extremely limited.

Overall the place was amazing.
Sleeping accommodation bed sizes were not ideal for adults. But there were plenty of blankets and pillows.
Lake toys and shaded area on the dock was fantastic! Kitchen was well equipped with seating for the whole family.
Host was on site and very accommodating to any adjustments that needed to be made during our stay.
We love the area and will be back next year!

My family really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views, amazing waterfront. Really appreciated all the books, games and water toys at the dock. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Pretty much all one could ask for in a lakefront property. Well built home. All three bedrooms upstairs. Air conditioning for the upstairs was entirely adequate on our 90+ degree weekend. Well stocked kitchen. The house was built on a hill so the hike to the dock was not trivial. On line pics show this well. My wife and I incorporated the hill into our CrossFit style WOD one day. Kids enjoyed the paddle board and floaties. I am partial to sunsets and this property did not disappoint.
Things to consider
1) this was our first time on this lake. The house is on highway 97 which is a windy narrow two lane road along the east side of the lake. If I were the owner I would include some pictures of the driveway.
2) if you have a boat of any size, do not attempt to park in the driveway. We have an Axis T22 surf boat and there is zero chance I could have driven in or backed in with the boat.
3) there is a marina at Carlin bay two miles to the south. Sketchy boat launch (one must pull across 97 before trying to back in. Pray for no trucks at this point of your life.
4) the food truck at the boat launch (Latitudes) is good. I spoke with the operations manager,David, who owns/manages the property to the NE of the boat launch. He has a bunch of trailers parked there. I offered to pay him to park my trailer for three nights and he said no charge, but please come and check out the food truck. So we did. There is a beautiful covered dock side dining area at the marina.
4) other than the he parking (which is surmountable), my only serious negative vibe is that the owners occupy the walkout basement of the three level house. They were only there one night and I did not see them but it was unexpected. Perhaps it said it in the listing, but I missed it.
All said, may wife and kids and I were very pleased. If available, we will definitely consider for a multi day stay summer 2023.

My family Really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, the location was amazing and the boat dock worked out really well with our boat rental.
The owner of the house does live below where you stay but they kept to themselves and were extremely kind.
We would stay there again!

Simply Lovely
I reread the other reviews before posting. This property is as lovely, if not more, than what the other reviewers have said. The home is incredibly clean and comfortable in every way. The pictures don’t do the view justice. I appreciated the do-Terra products and the washer and dryer (need to bring your own laundry soap). I had 2 hip replacements, one just 7 months ago. I am 62, my husband is 63. It is a steep descent down to the lake and a steep climb back up, but I made it once with my husband’s help. My husband had no problems. I would think that for a person that has knee problems that it would be a real challenge. The path is narrow, and I think a handrail in a spot or two along the path would be very helpful for those who might need it. The various sets of stairs on the way down had good, sturdy handrails. I read the reviews in the book left for guests to sign, and it seemed that people enjoyed the water the most, we were happy to simply enjoy the views from the deck. We went to Coeur D’Alene twice, once for an incredible anniversary dinner at Beverly’s and once for a 90 minute boat tour. We loved both. Harrison is about 22 minutes south. The Harrison creamery had AMAZING ice cream, big scoops, good price. The ride from Coeur D’Alene to the home takes about 33 minutes. It is a two lane road with many twists and turns, so just be aware of that. Coeur D’Alene has magnificent scenery everywhere you look. We caught a glimpse of the homeowners 3X. No problem there. My hobby is photography. I took some amazing photos, too bad there is no place here to post them. It was obvious to me that the homeowners went out of their way to make everything as lovely as possible for their guests. What more could you ask for?

The most beautiful property in Idaho!
We could not have asked for a more perfect place…the joy of being right on the water, with paddle boards, kayaks, fishing poles, and a dock was amazing!! We loved being outside of town and able to eat, read, play games, and gaze out at the water, the trees, the mountain, and the big sky. The home is worth every penny, and we LOVED our time together as a family on Point Harns. Perfection!

Fun on the lake without lines for renting equipment or crowds
This property is a great value in my opinion. It is right on the lake and away from the crowds of CDA. Make sure to stop in CDA to stock up on groceries etc before you arrive as it is about 30 minutes away CDA. We did go to CDA one day for lunch and sight seeing. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking and standup paddle boarding from the deck. We also liked hanging out on the "lilly pad" that floats in the on the water. I rented a wave runner from a business just a mile south on 97 which was great fun and very few boats or other watercraft were on the lake when we were there from June 28 to July 1st. We caught some nice small mouth bass for the dock using fishing poles at the property. No lines or rental fees for all the water toys or time spent rushing around and returning equipment. The wave runner can be delivered to the dock at the house but the dock is not ideal for a wave runner because of the height of the dock. I did manage to tie it up to the end of dock on a very calm day but would not recommend docking the wave runner there if it is windy and waves kick up. Even so, the rental place is SO close you can always just dock it there if you want a break. I saw an eagle fly right by the upper deck and a really cool rainbow in the clouds on a day where there was no rain. The scenery is great! There was a nice food truck at the boat rental dock about 1 mile south of the house. Lots of nice board games at the house and a hammock for laying around. My girls (14 and 11) had a great time and loved the cat who would greet us in the morning and lead us down the hill to the dock. The hosts are very nice and stay on site in the bottom floor of the house (completely separate). Given the more remote location this was actually a real positive in my book as they were very helpful and mostly out of sight while we were there. I thought it was a great place for a family of 4 or 5 to stay.

A much needed getaway.
For all of us, this has been a hectic year and a half for sure. I am a first responder and needed a distraction.
We decided to splurge. Our ultimate plan was to bike the Hiawatha trail. We stayed here and the home itself was the best part of the trip.
We biked the CDA river and lake trail which are super convenient to both.
The BEST supply of kitchen and BBQ supplies.
A bonus was the kitty, Willow. She usually hid but sometimes stopped by to say hi.
Suzanne was very responsive, even navigated when we got lost.
We kayaked and though we are both over 60 had no issues with the path to the dock. We even saw an eagle!
Great location!!!

Annual lake trip with family w/ adult children
This place was clean and had a ton of little things about it that made it a stand out. The amount of seating on the deck, yard and patios was not truly appreciated with our fairly large group. The views and sounds of the lake were fantastic and I can’t explain how much fun and time we had on the dock with that Lilly pad and of course getting to have our ski boat parked on our own dock is always a major plus. We brought a ton of food and there was plenty of cookware in the kitchen. All in all this is our third year doing this and probably our favorite so far.

Spectacular vacation!
We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The location is great, we felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves! We especially enjoyed just being together on the dock and hopping into the water to play and cool off. Suanne provided lots of water toys and the SUPs and kayaks, and we especially loved hanging out on the aqua lily pad! We rented a boat one day too and it was delivered to our dock, so easy! The house was super clean and cozy, great for playing games, lots of table and chair space for eating out on the deck plus well-stocked kitchen supplies/essentials and a great grill for cooking our meals at home. The house stayed cool even when it started to get pretty hot outside. Suanne was a great host and answered all of our questions. Our teenage girls also loved meeting their kitty Willow too! We hope to come back next summer--perfectly fabulous time had by all!

Great Water Front Vacation
We had a great time on this property. We loved the seclusion and privacy as well as easy access to the water. Like it says in the other reviews it is a bit of a climb down to the water but nothing real strenuous. We had two older than 60 and 1 under 10 and none of us had a problem with the climb.
The water toys and the dock were a blast. The property and house were clean and the views amazing. We took some early morning and late evening swims and the water was refreshing.
Thank you Suanne!!

Beautiful property
This was a beautiful property with everything you could ask for. Pantry was the most well stocked pantry I have ever seen in a VRBO. The house had AC in the bedrooms which was also wonderful. The dock was great and so many fun toys to play with. We loved our stay and would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful location on the lake
We loved this rental property. The waterfront gazebo and dock were great. We spent hours in and around the water. Two kayaks, two paddle boards, noodles, Lilly pad, life jackets of all sizes made for a great time.
The house stayed cool enough despite the high temps outside because of the top floor air conditioning. The house was well appointed and very comfortable.
It is worth noting that the path down to the water involves a narrow section and some stairs.

Peaceful and relaxing
Beautiful house! The house is completely stocked with everything that one would need. We enjoyed the paddle boards, kayaks and especially the evenings on the deck! The view is spectacular. The only advice as mentioned in previous reviews is to stock up with food/supplies before arrival. The ride into town takes about 30 minutes.

2nd Stay
This is our 2nd time staying at Suanne and Mark’s. We will come back again in a few years. Her house and location don’t disappoint. If you are looking for peacefulness and fun wIth relaxing dock-time on the lake (which includes provided paddle boards and kayaks) then this is the place for you. They provide a nice grill wIth charcoal To use, and have a punching bag And dart board in the garage. There are two hammocks for lounging and endless board games they have in stock. They also provided a complimentary bottle of wine.
The only thing I would remind folks of is the treck down to the lake/dock can be a little steep And going back up to her house takes some physicality.
Otherwise you are all by yourself with privacy and total relaxation.
Enjoy!

Summer Grandkid Retreat
Every year, we reserve a home on one of our local lakes to spend with our 4 young grandsons. This year, we were lucky enough to find the Harns' home for our summer grandkid retreat. Their home was cozy, perfectly appointed and equipped, with terrific water access, lots of toys for the kids inside and lots of toys outside on the deck. Our favorite was the aqua water lily! We lucked out with great weather and spent most of the time in the water. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Everything about out stay was perfect and we had another summer of wonderful memories with our grandkids. We appreciate the Harn's making it all possible for us!

Everything wonderful!
Great house, super clean, great furnishings and decor, movies, games, dart board, lovely master suite, very well-stocked kitchen and toiletries. Suanne was wonderful to communicate with and really has thought of everything to make their lake house a wonderful getaway. Lots of fun was had on the Aqua Lilypad, kayaks, and paddle boards. There is always shade available down by the water! Just be prepared for many stairs from the house to the lake. Highly recommend this house and know that we will stay here again for sure!!
