The manager was extra gracious with extending the car park and allowing my extra son to share our breakfast
The 3rd bed could be more comfy. The price was on the high side but with the location and extra service it was great.

It was a convenient location. It has an interesting history. It looked appealing.
The bedroom. The shower was unusable. Having a medical condition requiring shower facilities - was a major setback. The window in the room could not be opened as it was broken. The room itself was tiny for two to share.
The reception staff showed little concern for the room situation.
Not somewhere I could recommend- the hotel refused any refund

Very central, comfortable and clean. A bit quirky.

The location is exceptional. Next to the oldest pub (but no noise problem) and mere metres to the heart of the university section of Oxford. I easily walked to see the sights and it was great to be able to pop back to my room to recharge my phone and myself with a cuppa.
The price was a little more than I wanted to pay but the location made it a worthwhile treat.

It’s an old, cute building with narrow staircases. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic. It’s a historic building with quirks. People are friendly.
The bathroom has a sink with the old British separate faucets for hot & cold water which are uncomfortable and the bathtub had no curtains so taking a shower without splashing was a challenge. The bathtub had spots on it that repelled any desire to take a bath. The breakfast included in the price was unsatisfactory (a basket of bread and pastries, juice, jam, and butter replacement & coffee/tea). I paid for extras today: 2 poached eggs and they looked & felt like they were microwaved.

Location.
Grim, damp and airless. A two-star hotel charging five-star prices.
1.5 / 5.0
Location. Very accessible to where my work was: high street
1. Access to upstairs is via ‘ dangerous’ stair case.
High health hazard. Not for anyone who is not very very fit.
2. Very tiny space. Hardly any room even for one person
3. Bath room: is a joke. No room. Wash basin is cramped under a mirror with no room for your head! Not mixer taps. So you will have to try your own methods.
4. Shower is not provided. I do not take bath. So it’s a mismatch. I just managed to keep my hygiene somehow for three days.
Not recommended. My friends who stayed else where were happy although for just a little more money. I didn’t pay less either compared to London or anywhere else.
I rarely ever wanted to give a feed back about the hotels and b&b all these years( I am old!): so it must be something!

The location is fantastic and the quaintness of the hotel really gorgeous. The pub next door is lovely and made for an excellent overall experience.
The check in was superb. The guy was super helpful and so friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure we had all we needed. The room was sweet and the bed very soft, yet comfortable.
The room and hotel in general was clean.
Out of London I always expect less from hotels by way of decor and upkeep, but this hotel needs an overhaul in areas. Our bathroom definitely needed attention, with paint peeling etc. The decor was very dated, not in keeping with the age of the property really, just outdated.
This room was very expensive. Prices were crazy in Oxford the night we stayed and I would never usually pay so much for an overnight stay anywhere other than in Central London, so I did expect more.
Breakfast was very strange indeed. What was provided was coffee/tea/juice and a very large basket of bread and croissants - carbohydrate overload! Not even a yoghurt, or continental buffet was included. If you wanted any protein (cooked items etc.) that was all 'extra' to the already very steep cost. £17.50 for a full English was not tempting! I have never seen this in a hotel before. Pretty odd.

Room was clean. Location was very good.
There was a loud noise in the room coming from the hot water tank which was very unpleasant and woke me up at 7.30am on Sunday as well as disturbing me at other times. I reported it to the staff including the assistant manager who did not seem concerned and offered no compensation and only a half-hearted apology.

Prepare to stay in 17th century hotel!
Of course it means no wi-fi. The walls are so thick that there is also almost no cellular signal inside. As it’s a bath place, there is no wall mount for shower, nor shower curtain. Don't be deluded that breakfast included – its only coffee and bread, full English breakfast costs £18 extra. I observed people trying to approach a buffet table at breakfast and staff rushing to them telling that you are not allowed to eat here as its for an extra cost. Interestingly, paying just £30 more you can book a wonderful 5* hotel nearby.

Very charming, 17th century building

A hotel with a long history, ancient keys, as if back to the 17th century. Close to attractions such as museums
wifi is weak.

The location was very central.
The room description promised a ‘wardrobe/closet’ and ‘clothes rack’, but there was no wardrobe or cupboard for hanging clothes in and only one old double hook and wire coat hanger in the en-suite bathroom. There was nowhere to safely hang smart clothes overnight (which I had needed to be able to do). Some of the limited space available in the room had instead been given to an unnecessarily noisy mini-bar fridge that continued to switch itself on and off throughout the night.
There was a general lack of attention to detail as regards cleanliness, with lots of cobwebs in corners, marks/stains on soft furnishings, and a dubious brown stain on the bath near the toilet that I removed myself with a wet-wipe. The newel staircase leading up the room was also very steep and dangerous, with inadequate handrailing (I understand that this is a 17th century property, but I have experience staying in properties of similar age and the stairs at Bath Place Hotel were particularly steep, uneven, and poorly railed)
A ‘continental breakfast’ was promised but the breakfast offered turned out to be simply a small basket containing a bread roll, croissant, pain au chocolat and two triangles of toast, with a small selection of marmalades/honey and fruit juice on the side. Tea and coffee were also available. This was certainly the lightest continental breakfast I’ve ever had, and was extremely disappointing.

Good location and friendly staff
The facilities were a bit old and price rather high for this standard

The location was perfect in the heart of Oxford. The check in process was not only efficient but super welcoming. I was a relatively last minute booking but it was lovely to be shown to my room, with checks that the temperature was ambient. I was also provided with some really useful information for my dining options in the local area - which was very much appreciated.
As a general rule I thought the room price was a little high for what I got but then I do balance that Oxford is a very popular destination and the hotel was basically fully occupied. The included breakfast, continental only (cooked items could be ordered and paid for), was a little one note a delightful basket of croissant, pain au chocolat, toast and granary roll but rather but very bread/pastry heavy.

The location and friendliness of staff was excellent. The rooms need to have more work done on them. It is the most wonderful place but the rooms were very poor. The bed was comfortable but the furniture was poor and not of a great standard
You need to enhance the age of the property rather than filling it with cheap tat.

central location with everything in walking distance. Lovely quirky old building’s with beams and wonky floors. Room and beds very comfortable.
The furniture and decor is a little dated (out of fashion rather than antique, which would match the period of the building better). The included breakfast is very basic (croissant, toast and jam) with drinks. Anything else is extra.

Charmingly cosy hotel in genuinely old cottages tucked away in an alley that offers a quiet retreat while being in the very middle of town. The rooms are out of at least a couple of centuries ago but warm and comfortable. There is a generous and good quality continental breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
We loved the place but it is an old building inside and out and might not suit everyone. If you want mega power showers, lifts etc, you might want to pick somewhere else.

The staff at the front were friendly and the rooms were clean and warm. The bathroom was lovely with all you could need towel, soap, shampoo ect all provided. The water in the shower was nice and warm. The hotel could accomodate our request for our rooms to be placed together.
No iron in the room, had to get it from reception and carry the ironing board up the stairs too. A cooked breakfast was an additonal cost, at the pricepoint for the room, this could have been included in the price.

Absolutely delightful staff, helpful and knowledgeable, excellent breakfast, great location.
A bit tired rooms, a bit too expensive. Should invest in some fluffy new pillows as a starter.

Adored this place! This was my second time staying here, but this time, I decided to stay a week instead of two days, and it was even better than my first stay. The great location, cute historic building, and absolutely lovely, kind, and attentive staff all contributed to a wonderful experience. It was also very cosy, which was great since I came in January. I also loved the pub right next door, Turf Tavern, which was a great place to grab dinner or a drink at the end of the day. All in all a great place. I will definitely be back!

it’s a beautiful little gem of a hotel in the heart of Oxford.
No shower in the room I was in. Only a hand held shower head over the bath.
