The convenience to the Badlands.
The room was not very clean and there was NO HOT WATER!

This is a no-frills stay, only 10min away from the Visitor Center and the most popular trails in the Badlands. We drove in from Custer, entering the park from the south along Sage Creek Road, stopping at all of the overlooks before staying here for the night. The next day, we left early to do all the hikes before driving to Wall.
As a short stopover between days of exploring the Badlands, it was perfect. Because I booked early, I got a room with 2 queen beds for a song. It was basic 2- star accommodation - what you get near most national parks whether you pay more or not.
Check-in was inside the store. The friendly cashier gave me info about the store and food served there, as well as 2 recommendations in the town of Interior for late night eats. We ate at the Wagon Wheel and it was decent. Basic menu with foods you really can't mess up. We ordered a pizza.
The motel building was single level and quiet. There was plenty of parking in the giant gravel lot and we parked right in front of our room.
The room was a good size and clean. The beds were the same as all the beds we'd slept in throughout Wyoming and Montana - a little worn and hard, but not uncomfortable.
The A/C and Wi-Fi worked well. There was a mini fridge.
The bathroom sink was small and old, but it, the shower, and the toilet worked and had decent pressure. No problem with hot water.
In the morning, we ordered breakfast at the store. There is one cook and one cashier who also busses the 4 or 5 tables.
When we first came in, the area was busy and all of the tables were full. 10 minutes later, it was empty. If it's busy, you can order the food to go or simply browse the gift store while your order is prepared. By the time it's ready, the large families will have vanished.
I had an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich, and my buddy had a breakfast burrito. At $6-$8 each, the food was tasty and cheaper than anywhere in California, so we were happy.
Check-out was easy and friendly.
The furniture was old. No microwave.
The "porch with a view" was more like a long concrete walkway that ran the length of the building. It was covered and had chairs, but faced the parked cars in the gravel lot. Not a big deal, but it's a little stretch to call it a porch.
The pool was a shallow above-ground pool. We arrived late and left early, so we didn't see anyone use it.
This place is advertised as a motel & campground. As such, I expected the rooms to be small, dingy, even a bit ...disappointing, but I was pleasantly surprised with the very adequate room. The on-site store and food corner were convenient, and overall, it was a great value for a basic room SO close to the Badlands!

We loved our little 2 bedroom apartment. We felt like we could have lived there comfortably for weeks or longer ... We made use of the available laundry facilities. A small store downstairs offered sundries such as water, toiletries, and ice cream bars. There was a full kitchen with a large refrigerator in the apartment and a cozy sitting room but we spent most of our time sitting on the balcony enjoying the gorgeous views of the Badlands. There is a small hiking trail that loops beyond the property and it was beautiful to walk at sunset, misty rainbows in the distance, the rock faces turning pastel colored in the background. There are a couple of bars down the street that serve drinks and food and we had a great time hanging out with the locals & eating excellent Indian Tacos!
We enjoyed our stay. The place has a little bit of a worn, lived in quality that we didn't mind at all but if you were expecting something more glamorous perhaps it wouldn't be for you? They do keep it very clean.

This motel so close to Badlands NP was just what we wanted. It was basic but it delivered a good room, bed, air con , good shower. Nothing fancy but had all we needed.
It was exactly what we expected and needed for a good price.

Location was perfect for us
The shower was very very small--hardly room to maneuver. And the faucet in the shower was very hard to pull on.

Fabulous place to stay. Nice, clean rooms with laundry facilities and small store/restaurant on site. The views of the Badlands from your room are fabulous!
Loved everything about this place!

Love older motels! It was clean and had a small store. It also has camping grounds with a pool and bathhouse. Close to Badlands and trailheads.

Super convenient location for the park
They don’t offer breakfast everyday and there aren’t many other options in the area for food

The location and price were fantastic. Located right outside the Badlands it made trips into the park easy. The room was clean and had a mini fridge.
Dated and worn. There was no iron or ironing board and i didn't see a hair dryer. Only one chair meant someone having to lie on the bed to watch tv. Breakfast was advertised for an additional cost but upon arrival we were informed it was not available as the motel was closing in three days for the season. There was no microwave and no other places to eat breakfast within several hours south of the park, the direction we were headed. The outlets in the room were placed high up on the walls and would not hold a plug, phone chargers kept falling out

The staff was so friendly and nice. Breakfast was great.

The location. Walkable to the only place in Interior for food and drink. 5 mins drive to get to Badlands park.
We did not feel comfortable in the room as it was not clean enough. Room smelt musty, bathroom was clean, but bath did not drain well. Bedsheets were clean but rest of the bedding and furniture was very dusty (even for the Badlands) and there were a number of dead flies round the window. Carpet was grubby (would have been better with a hard floor). Overall the whole place was dated, dark, dusty and dreary. Unfortunately we had prebooked for 2 nights and according to our booking contact there was no refund for early checkout (even if dissatisfied).

We arrived in the morning, way before check in time and they kept our luggage for the day so it doesn't have to stay in hot car. We enjoyed the pool very much at the end of the day

Close to Badlands National Park. In the little town nearby is a bar with excellent food and friendly service.
Despite the high rates breakfast comes at aan extra cost.
