Pleasant location but description of property needs updating
The host was overall quite pleasant. Even gave some of her dog’s food for the first night to tide me over till I went to the store. Cozy space. Comfortable bed. Good storage for clothes, has a hairdryer. Great Bathroom and Shower, new well equipped and maintained. Soap, shampoo and clean towels provided. Daily cleaning (whether you want it or not). Location is very nice in itself. Quaint village and nice restaurants, lovely walks along the dyke with the dog leading up to a small beach but around a 20 min drive to De Koog beaches.
The description of the property on the site needs to be more clear. There is no microwave or a proper stove for cooking. The host offered a small camp stove that worked ok and also offered to use her microwave but it’s not convenient. The chairs are convenient but a small couch would work better. I felt that the host had too many do’s and don’ts. I was told several times that I must keep the mesh door closed in the evening ( not convenient when you have a small space and a big dog) or else she had to chase any bugs out when I left ( I did most nights but there were zero bugs anyways), on bonfire night ( Maierblis) I was told repeatedly that I should keep the door closed all evening/ night or she’ll never get the smoke out, I finally said let’s first see the situation and turned out there was zero smoke that night, the camp stove and cook pan had to be stored after use every-time, also the mandatory daily cleaning should be at the guests discretion, if they don’t want it. On the day of check out we had agreed that I would leave at 12 but she came back home at 11.15 and said she had to clean. I rushed out of there. My biggest inconvenience was that the terrace is shared with the host, so there’s less privacy than the property description indicates. Initially, the host said that they use their back entrance when there’s guests and don’t cross the terrace but turned out her adult son returns home late in the night and uses the terrace to enter, so if you are lounging with the door open or have a slightly anxious dog, this is not pleasant. At my request they did start using the back but I don’t think her son was very happy about it. I also didn’t appreciate her comments that they didn’t realize I’d keep my door open so late ( it was 10.30 pm on a warm night!) and about teaching my young dog to not bark at strangers, when they enter “his” area (meanwhile her dogs barked for no reason at all in her house, including at mine, which you can hear in the room).

I just wait to go there back and to stay more time PS Amsterdam's hotels management should visit this place and to take lessons about hospitality!

It’s been a lovely, relaxing time with a very kind hostess.
The hostess exceeded our expectations with her hospitality and her willingness to prepare an amazing vegan breakfast for us every day. Facilities are lovely, everything works perfectly. Overall had a great stay!
