We had a lovely time at this property. We had everything we needed and being on the lake was incredible. The views were immaculate and would love to come back next summer.

We had a wonderful week. The lake is perfect for swimming, great hanging out on the front deck and playing games inside at night. Great launching point for hikes in Desolation Wilderness. An ideal spot!

Had a lovely time celebrating Father’s Day weekend with the family. There’s an awesome view of the lake and easy access to the dock. The house itself was very clean, and the beds were comfortable! Super cool fireplace that we enjoyed on the chilly nights. We did see a bear, so the instructions to lock everything up before going out for the day should be taken seriously! Thanks for letting us stay!

We had a great stay in this spacious home . Loved waking up to see beautiful lake Tahoe right outside your living room window. Everything you need right there

Great location. Close to DL Bliss, Emerald Bay, Meeks Bay. Extremely expensive but so is everything lakefront in Tahoe. Clean and rustic. Owner was responsive to questions. The dock is a fantastic place to lounge but it is shared with the neighbor.

This is a lovely place. We have been back 3 years in a row! There is nothing better than swimming in Lake Tahoe (right in front of you!) and hiking in Desolation Wilderness. It's just beautiful. Thank you Haglers!

This property was exactly as described and we loved the rustic Tahoe cabin vibe! We had adults and kids. The kitchen was better than I was expecting, I always bring our own non-stick pans for eggs etc to a VRBO and I would suggest that to anyone who wants a non stick pan. The fridge was new, not the one in the picture (it was large and perfect). The dock is shared and the neighbors are lovely. Beds are comfortable but if you are driving bring what makes you happy (pillow blanket etc) but they are fully stocked with linen. Bring your own life vest if need them. Loved it thanks for having us ❤️!

We spent a relaxing week at the cabin. There was more than enough room for me, my wife, and our four kids. Being right on the water was great, we spent mornings and evenings on the deck, and several afternoons kayaking or paddle boarding from the dock. Being right in between South Tahoe and Tahoe City gave us plenty of options for days when we wanted to go out to eat out other activities. We also very much enjoyed the selection of board games that were in the house. We'd definitely stay again.

Stunning View
Could not have asked for a more amazing view to wake up and fall asleep to. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Having 2 bunk rooms upstairs was definitely a huge plus for the kids. Jack was very responsive with our questions. Hoping to return again.

Tahoe 2021
Our family trip was very nice in spite of the smoke from the fires.
The rustic cabin has a lot of room and an outstanding view of the lake. The water level was high so we did not have much of a beach, but the neighbors were very nice and allowed us to use their beach. It was great to have the use of the kayaks, but difficult to carry them from the lower level, up and down to the water. We found the stairs to the dock, lake, beach quite a climb and a bit of a challenge.
The furnishings, rugs, dishes and pans are all very old and shabby, but OK. There were clean towels and extra blankets. We were not able to get the TV to work, the downstairs bath/shower did not work correctly. The patio furniture is worn out plastic with beat up cushions.
We were warned of the bears and did encounter one when we were sitting outside at lunch time. He was about 10 yards away and ran up a tree when he saw us. He stayed in the tree for the day and was gone the next morning. It is important to follow the owners instructions about bear safety.
. Even though the cabin definitely needs updating, it worked out fine for our family. All of this being said, we enjoyed our trip

Great neighborhood and location
Special place on Rubicon Bay. The neighbors on each side are very nice and the views from the deck are fantastic. This isn't one of those new palaces on Lake Tahoe, it's a modest home but clean and well kept. The host Jack is a gentleman and easy to work with. My family loves the place.

Great Stay!
An amazing property! We absolutely loved our stay. The kayaks were a huge hit, we used them everyday. We were at Tahoe with 2 fires nearby. First few days were smoky, but the skies cleared and we were able to enjoy the fabulous view. It was really great. We hiked Rubicon Peak. Trailhead is very close to the property. The view from the top was totally worth the strenuous hike. The grill was awesome and we cooked up the fish we caught on a fishing trip. Great game selection, we played games every evening. We only had one question for Jack and he was very responsive. Overall fantastic stay and would return.

Great getaway on the lake
We had a great time at this home! Perfectly situated, right on the lake and close to all the fun things you'd like to experience. Very clean and rustic. The house hasn't been updated and that's honestly the way I like it!

Perfect Getaway
Jack’s place was amazing. Simple cabin style interior, but the location was unbeatable. With horseshoes out front, a dock, beach, and kayaks, there’s no need to even leave the house!

Lovely escape
Really lovely cozy home great for all of us to spend time together after a year of pandemic separation. The home was great for a grandma and two small families of 4 each. Thanks for sharing such a special place.

Hidden Gem!
We loved out stay at this cabin! The location was amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. Everything you needed for the stay was provided and everything was incredibly clean. We were thankful for the use of the kayaks - our two sons had such a great time! We hope you visit again. Thank you for sharing this lovely home with us!

Relaxing get away.
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin. It is exactly as portrayed in the photos. When we rent a place, we don't stray far. Being able to walk out the back and get in the water or just enjoy the view of the lake from the house & deck was what we wanted. We were not disappointed! The house was clean. There were a couple items under the beds and items left in the refrigerator and freezer, which I let Jack know so he can tell his cleaning crew, but otherwise good. Beds were OK- not the best, but not the worst either. Kitchen was fine. As a previous review said, if you like to cook, you may want to bring some stuff. Cutting knives were scarce and very dull. My husband sharpened them as best he could, but the cabin could use a new set of knives. The only real disappointment was not being able to use the grill. We knew it was a charcoal grill which is what my father in law uses and had a special birthday dinner planned. However, once we arrived, we found out we could not use it due to the fire danger. Had we known, we would have planned a different meal. I contacted Jack and he said he had just been made aware of the new regulation. Hopefully Jack will get a gas grill which is allowed even with the fire danger. Overall, we were happy with our stay. We brought our paddle boards and took them and Jack’s Kayaks out every day. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets (made even more pretty due to the smoke). We would definitely stay again. Thanks Jack!

Another great year
This was our second year at this property. We again had a great time with our family. We all loved access to the pier and not having to go to an over crowded beach.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The house is so comfortable, the water & views are gorgeous and our host is the best. We hope to be back every year.

Beautiful location
Meeks Bay is a special close knit enclave with lakefront views. Neighbors are nice and location is ideal.
We had a wonderful stay. Owner provided kayaks which was terrific. House is vintage 70’s. No cable for television and a rustic bbq. Very basic kitchenware (we are big cooks). Glad we brought our own knives! No non stick cookware so eggs are difficult...We will bring our own pan next time. Everything is as it was in the 70’s but, we didn’t mind. The view and dock more than make up for the lack of amenities. It really is ideally situated. It’s a charming very rustic set up. We will definitely come back!

Great Lake Front home
Our family throughly enjoyed this cabin and it’s accessibility to the lake. The kids loved jumping off the pier and having the buoy for our waverunners. House was clean and everything worked.

Relaxing
We enjoyed our stay here. The weather was perfect for outdoor activities like hiking in the nearby state parks and kayaking on the lake. We grilled on the deck most nights, and relaxed on the pier most days. Our only complaint with the house was the mattress, but everything else was great. It's about a 20 minute drive to any restaurants and shops, but we were looking for a place that would be quiet. There were a few houses under construction in the neighborhood during our stay in June 2019, so there was some noise from people working during the day. Overall we had a great time.

Lakefront beauty
We were very pleased with the property, it suited us very well. The view is actually awesome. My kids enjoyed the kayaks and my elderly mother enjoyed the view. A good time was had by all.

Very lovely home!
We had a lovely time getting away for the weekend. The home was cozy and felt like a family cabin. We discovered an issue with the upstairs bathroom within the first ten minutes of our stay which rendered it unusable for the weekend. We had a 9 adult and 2 children group so it made the trip a little bit more tricky. Parking is kind of limited as the property is very narrow and unmarked. The neighbor kindly requested us to move 1 of our 4 cars because it was parked a little bit in their yard. We would stay here again for the view and lake access alone. There was minimal house hold amenities in the home and we were requested bring our own toilet paper and to start the laundry however there was no detergent so we had to purchase some in town. The Kyaks and the Zodiac row boat made up for the missing household items.
Jack was easy enough to get ahold of the first day when we discovered the bathroom issue; he attempted to get a plumber out but no one was able to service the property until Monday. Even with the set backs we still enjoyed our stay.

Loved our stay!
We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary there with our daughter and her family. There was more than adequate room, facilities, and activities for everyone, including the dock, private beach, and kayaks that were kindly provided. Kitchen and living areas are clean and spacious; location is beautiful with the calm, clear lake, and view of mountains. Owner, Jack, was easy to reach, altho we had no issues. Vacation time flew by all too quickly. Thank you for opening your home for visitors! We look forward to returning for another vacation there.

Ideal location and fun for the whole family
We were extremely pleased with this rental--The pictures really don't do it justice. The decor is just a bit dated, but even that just gives it old Tahoe charm. The house is clean and there is room at the table and couches for everyone to eat and play games together. But the best part is the location. As soon as you open the door, you can see the lake. The deck has a spectacular view and it's just a few stairs down to the water. Our whole family had a fabulous time swimming, kayaking and jumping off the pier. We definitely hope to come back next year.

Best Place on Tahoe
This home is situated on the west shore in a beautiful location. The sunrises from the front deck are amazing, and so are the sunsets. The large deck overlooks the lake with one of the best views in the world (not exaggerating) and actually the best view in Tahoe. Nothing is better than sitting out on that deck in the afternoon with the blue green lake spread out right in front of you. It is close enough to Tahoe City for groceries, restaurants, and fishing charters. The home was big enough to comfortably accommodate the eight adults for a forty year college reunion. We all fit at the large dining table with no problem. I would come back to this spot in a minute.

Great Hideaway Location
Highly recommend this cabin as a nice get away. Though the property itself is small, the location is quiet, and everything is in great working condition. The balcony view and private dock is a big bonus!

Tahoe Getaway
Great week at this cabin. Comfortable accommodations and the deck offers fantastic views. Lake is low, so the beach area offers plenty of room to lounge and play. Private beach and dock with buoy. Can't wait to come back.

Had a great time. Plenty of space as bedrooms were larger than expected. Great views from the deck and the dining area. Kayaks were great fun. Nice private beach and dock. Hope to rent again.

Great Location!
This cabin has amazing views with the use of a private beach. It is an older cabin with an excellent layout. The towels and bedding were of good quality. It was very clean, and we loved being able to use the kayaks. You couldn't ask for a better lakefront location. I would definitely stay here again.

A bit of heaven on earth!
I have been coming to Tahoe since the early 60s and I can say from experience that this is one of the best stays I have ever had. From waking up to the sun streaming across the lake to watching the last sun rays on the mountain tops across the lake, the location of this cabin is absolutely perfect. It is also very quiet and you don't hear any road noise. We loved the accessibility to our favorite hikes at Rubicon, Sugar Pine, and Emerald Bay. The space inside is great for either small or larger groups (we were just three and didn't need the upstairs) and everything you might need is provided. One thing we always look for in a vacation rental is comfortable seating and this cabin has it in spades! If you come to this cabin you will not be disappointed!

Great house in perfect location
We loved our stay. Plenty of space and things to do for 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 very active boys. The views on the lake are wonderful and we enjoyed eating on the deck even though it was still a little cool. The access to the little beach, pier and the boats were also very special. We like the western shore and enjoyed the proximity to Emerald Bay, Rubicon Trail and great hiking.

Great Lakefront Cabin!
This mountain cabin with great deck brings us back each year to experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe. My family has been vacationing at the lake for over 50 years and this is the place to come to experience the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The cabin has all the amenities to enjoy and accommodate small or large families, comfortably. Kitchen and living room and deck are perfect for dining and offer great views of the lake and mountains. You can sit out early morning with a cup of coffee and watch the air balloons
land on the lake and spend and evening grilling with cocktails viewing the sunset. A buoy is always available for a boat and the lower decks can accommodate kayaks or paddle boards, etc..

Absolutely love this place!
We had a fantastic time in this lakefront property. Your own private beach, the water was clear and calm and it felt like swimming in a massive pool. We spent hours kayaking, swimming, sun bathing and enjoying the Lake Tahoe view from the livingroom and the deck of the house. The house is spacious, it accomodate my large family (siblings and their spouses). Everyone enjoyed their stay and already planning to go back next year or this winter. It was a memorable vacation and amazing photos taken in this beautiful lake/property. One of the calmest water in Lake Tahoe!
