About this house rental
Villa Tamarindo is located high on a ridge bordering the VI National park. We have private access to the Caneel Hill Trail which leads to a nearby overlook and on to the North Shore beaches. The villa is only one mile from the shops and restaurants of Cruz Bay yet is tucked away in a private area. The road is paved all the way to your large flat parking area and does not require 4WD. Villa Tamarindo is managed and maintained by the owners and we can assure you everything in the house will be clean and in perfect working condition. We constantly upgrade the house and this year in November replaced the beds, great room furniture, dishwasher and much more. In addition to the main house we have a garden apartment with a queen bed spacious bathroom full kitchen with bar seating area. The apartment has a living room breakfast nook and patio seating area. The apartment is available as an additional room or on its own with separate parking and entrance
The villa has two master bedrooms with king size beds making it perfect for two couples or a family with the twin option in one room. The stunning views from every room and the secluded garden pool deck give you a reason to return home early from the beach every day. The ridge top location is almost always breezy and bug free. Individually controlled air conditioning in the bedrooms give you comfort year round.
The villa has a central great room and kitchen with the master suites off to each side. Walk through closets lead into the baths with their stone and tile showers. The terrace deck runs the length of the home with private entries from each room. This deck has a covered dining area with fans off the great room and plenty of room off each side for sunning on the lounge chairs.
The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and corian counters. All appliances are state of the art and you will find every whisk, spatula, and knife you need including service for 12, plenty of glasses and cloth napkins. Villa Tamarindo is truly a 5 star facility.
Our great room has Wireless Internet, Satellite TV DVD CD with speakers for the pool deck. The house also has a full laundry.
The antique bricked pool deck has hardwood furniture round a teak ships hatch style table under a thatched palapa for al fresco dining. A large Weber grill will assure the biggest BBQs go off with out a hitch. Or relax in the sun or under the umbrella on the lounge chairs.
Villa Tamarindo comes with all the amenities you will need for your vacation including beach chairs, towels, coolers, and pool floats. Don’t even worry about bringing shampoo, soaps, hairdryers or an iron. There is also a bocce court on the grounds for some afternoon competition between guests.
Perhaps our biggest draw is the proximity of the National Park. Our own spur trail leads 20 yards to the Caneel Hill Trail and the Caneel gut trail. A five minute walk leads you up to the observation platform on Caneel hill and a 360 degree panorama. Another twenty minutes and you are on Soloman or Honeymoon beaches reachable only by boat or trail. Or stroll down the gut trail amidst trees almost as old and impressive as our own giant tamarind tree.

We enjoyed everything about our stay and location. Perfect to access the hiking trials. We enjoy the off the beaten path beaches on the east side for snorkeling but like the restaurants near Cruz Bay to enjoy in the evenings and this spot is perfect for that. Really has everything needed, laundry, A/C for the really warm nights, solar power if the power grid is down, perfect pool, and amazing views. Mike met us at the car ferry and showed us around the home when we first arrived. We have stayed all over the Caribbean and this home is clean and up to date with all the amenities!

The house is just perfect for two couples. The attention to detail is second to none it was lovely to arrive after a long day of travel to have snacks and wine for the evening and breakfast items and coffee for the next morning. THe kitchen is fully equipped and a washer and dryer is such a wonderful addition. We could have packed much less. We will definitely share this property with friends.

Everything about this villa was 5/5 inside & out. VERY clean..private..fully equipped with everything you would need..pool area was great..big patio with table to enjoy…bedrooms/bathrooms are spacious..beautiful landscape & so much more.. This lovely property is secluded enough but near enough to be a dream. If you want a private pool, quiet at night, hiking trails literally out the back door you’ve got it. There’s no real need to ever leave this wonderful house but it’s minutes -a mile or two down the hill to Cruz bay and all the dinner, bars and fun nightlife you may desire. The distance to Coral Bay is also very near. We had a great vacation. Quality space better than the pictures look. It’s an ideal situation!!! We loved it

Everything about the property exceeded our highest expectations. Better than any high end hotel we have ever stayed in - immaculately clean, well equipped, private. Path to National Park trail only steps away. A beautiful property inside and out. Loved the shower wall (a work of art) and the compass rose set in the pool deck!

Good location, private and clean. Perfect for anyone looking to get out during the day, come back and relax in/and around the pool. The two bedrooms were comfortable and each had their own bathroom. Everything in the house worked. Only thing to note was living room furniture is not comfortable and there are no TV's in the bedrooms so house is not set up to spend a lot of time relaxing indoors. However, that was just fine with us because we were usually tired by the time we got back there, and had the pool area and deck with the great view for winding down.

Wonderful house very close to town and beaches. Had everything we needed for a peaceful 10 day vacation. Very private location, felt like our own little oasis coming back to after a day at the beach.
Bocce court was a lot of fun and a great bonus to a great Villa.
If we come back to St. John’s …. We will try to stay her again.

What a great experience from check in where Mike escorted us from the ferry and had fruit, drinks and breakfast for the next day all ready for us to the well stocked kitchen and beach chairs and coolers….Pool was refreshing after a day at the beach and the views from the villa were inspiring especially on the front deck overlooking the water in the distance … beautiful mornings drinking coffee and watching the parrots, hummingbirds and iguanas !

What a great experience from check in where Mike escorted us from the ferry and had fruit, drinks and breakfast for the next day all ready for us to the well stocked kitchen and beach chairs and coolers….Pool was refreshing after a day at the beach and the views from the villa were inspiring especially on the front deck overlooking the water in the distance … beautiful mornings drinking coffee and watching the parrots, hummingbirds and iguanas !

My husband and I had the most amazing week at Villa Tamarindo. The second we stepped into the villa we felt immediately relaxed. It's open, the view is incredible, and the kitchen is fully stocked.
Mike had everything ready for us - from meeting us to get to the house from Cruz Bay to sharing any and all details we would need to know about the house.
The patio is spacious with a big table to enjoy your coffee at in the morning or happy hour in the evening - with lounge chairs to read a book. The patio has a nice breeze since it is set up on the hill and has barely any bugs which is a huge plus.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, with great decor. Shampoo, soap, and lotion was all provided as well as plenty of towels.
Fully equipped with everything you need for the beach - chairs, cooler, umbrella, etc. - you don't need to bring anything as the villa has you covered!
Make sure you hike up the path in the back of the house that leads to the national park where you can watch the sunset at the lookout point. It's unforgettable.
We were so sad to leave the villa, but are already planning our trip back and can't wait to experience villa tamarindo again.

The exceptional experience at this property contributed to one of our very best family vacations. Perfectly sized for our group of four, with separate spaces both inside and out to gather or spread out as our needs changed throughout the day/week.
The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen (and gas grill) are fully stocked, no shortage of utensils, dishes, condiments and spices too!
Our host Mike met us at the ferry and assisted us with luggage and check-in; a very welcoming and kind gesture that set the tone for our stay.
The direct access to the park trails is great. We hiked many days, sometimes a quick jaunt to an overlook, other days for hours-all from the villa directly.
The pool area was a big hit with our teen girls, who lounged and read books or studied while still relaxing and enjoying the wonderful weather.
With increased road repair activities on Centerline, the truck noise was noticeable (they sound the horns as a safety measure while navigating blind turns). We understand this is an indication of progress and improvement for both locals commuting and tourists exploring different parts of St. John; the noise wasn’t offensive - it was the only annoyance we experienced.
We look forward to visiting St. John again and staying at this property.

The flat parking next to a foot shower was perfect for cleaning our snorkling gear after our daily trips to check out the undewater wildlife (WOW!). And the fully stocked kitchen helped us cook at home when we did not want to join the crowds in cruz bay for dinner. We especially apprecaited the food left for us upon arrival. It really made a difference after the day of travel. Thanks for everything! We can't wait to come back!

The property was exactly as pictured, but even better! We have rented many houses over the last 16 years, and never stayed in one so well-equipped. It was a delightful surprise to find snacks and drinks waiting for us, as well as a well-stocked pantry (oils, spices, etc.), the absence of which makes cooking in while on vacation onerous. From suntan lotion to beach chairs, abundant towels and bocce, this house has it all! Mike was very gracious about speedily fixing the slight problems we encountered, too (one our fault, one random). We appreciated it!!

If you're coming to St. John with a family, I can't imagine a better place to stay. It's quiet, private, close to Cruz Bay, and stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beach. Tent, beach chairs, snorkel kits, pool noodles, coolers, etc. Great place, will be back for sure.

This house has a great location. The house is perfect. Everything is extremely well maintained and like new. The pool area is everything you would want. We were long over due for a trip, and literally we hit the jackpot. Everything about this home is perfect. From the grounds, which are immaculate by the way. The pool, the views, the location, truly for the price you just cant beat it. With covid and our toddler it was easiest cooking meals at the house, which we absolutely loved. Every morning we would wake up and hit a different location on the island for a Hike, or a beach. Just can't say enough about how great this home is. Thanks so much guys, we will absolutely be back !!!
