Pretty was well maintained and comfortable. Listening to the river is very relaxing.

Great property. Loved the view of the river. Unit had everything we needed except a box of Kleenex. We enjoyed our lunch and wine tasting at Chez Josephine. It is a bit remote so not the location for you if you’re looking for nightlife or don’t want to drive a bit to a restaurant for dinner.

I have always loved Roaring River Winery for dining and the wines for over 5 years. The owners are the loveliest couple and I wanted to come back and stay but with Covid and my 102 year old mom being moved back to Florida I just now found the chance to stay in their cabins. Opening the back door and sitting on the patio to listen and view the river brings peace to ones soul.

Would stay there again. However, we were surprised and disappointed that the restaurant was not open on Monday & Tuesday, and the menu was rather limited.

We went to celebrate our 38th anniversary. Checkin was simple and our unit was just as advertised. We had everything we needed.
Roaring River property was absolutely beautiful. The river was fun to walk in and peaceful to listen to. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant overlooking the river.
Josephine and Tom were perfect hosts.
Couldn’t have had a better weekend.

I have never given a less than favorable review for anything but we were very disappointed when we arrived. Although the river is beautiful, there is not much else appealing about this place. If the restaurant is not open I suggest you bring everything you will need with you as there is almost nothing in the area to provide food and supplies. The website suggested bring a swim suit for the hot tub and the river side beach. The hot tub was “for owner use only” and there is no beach. Be aware that there is no cell service either. We left sadly disappointed.

We came during the week and we pretty much had the grounds to ourselves. Tom showed us the beech for swimming, the clubhouse, the trails on the property, the views from the top of the vineyard. It was great! The restaurant staff was warm and friendly and the pesto fettuccini was delicious! Of course, we had to try the wine flight and we loved it! We had the opportunity to socialize with the folks working and other guests as the weekend approached but pretty much kept to ourselves and relaxed. There are many places to be right on the river and feel solitude but never unsafe. The owner’s dogs roaming was a nice homey touch, too. We really loved our stay and will be coming back!

While out-of-the-way, Roaring River was handy central location for visiting vineyards, antiquing, hiking, and scenic drives. The lodging was clean, comfortable and quiet. The only downside was that the restaurant was not open more days. Highly recommend.

We spent the weekend here for Merlefest. The place clean, quiet & beautiful. The back porch by the creek & fire pit was perfect to end our nights. Thanks to the owners for making our stay perfect!

Great location, found all that was necessary to split some wood and build a fire in the pit outside the back door.
Rain began first evening and unfortunately was too cold to sleep with the doors open to the river lullaby but next morning we were treated to the river really roaring. It is always a pleasure to be so close to the river view and sounds but after a rain the river is truly spectacular.
The facility is well thought out to provide the feeling of privacy with comfort and all the little things that Tom and Josephine provide behind the scenes add much to make it a pleasant experience.

Good for those who REALLY want to get away. No Verizon cell service what so ever. No Directv with premium channels as advertised. Roku tv without premium and very spotty Wi-Fi for streaming on one very small tv. Wasn’t aware of “winter hours” in April therefore vineyard and restaurant were closed. Nothing for attractions in area. Owners had big list of expectations of renters and don’t want to be bothered except in emergencies. Which we had (major water leak) but they were very apologetic about and refunded us last night that we weren’t able to stay. Better for those who are seeking solace then an active vacation.

Mom really enjoyed staying in the cabin. Very comfortable and relaxing for her while Elizabeth and I enjoyed roughing it in our camper. Always a pleasure being there a RR and the restaurant staff always makes us feel like we are home!

Enjoyed river and patio. Quiet. Firepit and grill available. Close to Stone Mountain Park! They had lots of kitchen items available that I didn't have to bring/buy.

The staff at the vineyards us absolama, ing! Everyone is friendly and makes you feel like pRt of the family. The cottages are very clean and well stocked. The restaurant has amazing food and staff. The owners are the sweetest couple and ensure a tranquil stay. My favorite part is the hot tub as you listen to the river flow!

We absolutely loved our stay! The property and location was very relaxing. The food at the restaurant next door was truly amazing. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. The owners of the property were so courteous and attentive! We are already planning to return in the spring. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in this quaint, rustic lodge along the river. The vineyard property was quiet and clean. It is a short drive to Stone Mountain State Park. This is not a luxury property but it is a good value for the price. One thing to note is that the Heat/AC are not central. the AC is a wall unit, and the Heat is small portable unit. We were a little worried about being cold in the winter, but as long as we rolled the heater into the bedroom at night we were comfortable.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life this little jewel will do the trick. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. The river and scenery were beautiful. We plan on this being a yearly thing.

It’s a nice quiet place for adults. I don’t think kids would enjoy the area.

This beautiful property is well-maintained and the host was wonderful. He even brought over a load of firewood for our fire pit! We will return again.

Relaxing place to stay but internet was spotty, no cell service and Roku TV was in and out. Owner was quick to come to fix problems.

This is a beautiful place to visit if you are wanting away from the everyday hustle of the busy world we live in. Listening to nature is something I love about this place, the birds and the sounds of the river. The host Josephine and Tom were very quick to address the issue we had with the air conditioner on our first night stay. They put in a new unit first thing the next morning. We enjoyed fishing and using the hot tub. The unit was well equipped with everything in the kitchen. My only suggestion to anyone who hasn’t been here before is to make sure you bring your own food being the restaurant wasn’t open while we were there, the closest store is about 15 minutes away. Just check before you go to see the hours the restaurant is open. It wasn’t an issue with me at all.

My second stay on this property. Had the upstairs unit for a girls trip last Fall. Everything is so clean and such a beautiful, restful location. My husband is ready to sign up for a return trip.

We enjoyed the grounds and visiting with the owner.

Perfect getaway.
We could not have asked for a better place to have a short vacation from "regular" life. The host/owner of the vineyard was definitely the star of the show. He could not have been more helpful and pleasant. I really can not say enough great things about this place. The pictures do not do it justice.

Lovely quiet get away
Host answered messages promptly. Kitchen nicely stocked and great view of the river from the patio. Also enjoyed the fire in our fire pit with the wood left for us to use.

Weekend escape
Such a beautiful and relaxing weekend. The Aspen overlooks the Roaring River and has a great patio to relax and it's own firepit to listen to river at night by the fire. We enjoyed a wine and beer flight and great casual dinner on the deck of the restaurant next door. Will definitely visit again.
