Our time at Villa Gaeta was just magical. We had been to Puerto Vallarta before and stayed at an all-inclusive which was lovely but it couldn't even come close to the charm and care of our stay at Villa Gaeta. The villa itself is just enchanting with all of its traditional architectural flair and the location was very convenient to the Zona Romantica. (The hill you have to walk is a workout, to be sure, but we did it everyday.) The thing that really set Villa Gaeta apart was the service – top notch! Both the owners and Mary, the house manager, were superb in their communication and always quick to reply both before and during our stay. Doria made us delicious breakfasts – we're all craving her Chilaquiles now that we're home! And the rest of the team – Tony and Eduardo – were just great. Honestly, we felt like family. And does it get better than that? There is a large condominium building being constructed which, sadly, obstructs part of the view. But you still get some fantastic views, to be sure! And none of us ever felt bothered in the slightest by the construction. Oh, and around the corner from the house is Serrano's Grill. For convenience one night, we opted to try it for dinner. We were completely surprised by the beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food & service, and stunning views. We'd highly suggest the Rib Eye Burger and the Short Ribs! All in all, we cannot wait to come back to Villa Gaeta!”

We were a group of four adults staying at Villa Gaeta.
We loved the layout of the home and the open space kitchen/pool area was awesome.
There was plenty of both sun and shade seating options by the pool.
Bedrooms were all lovely with king sized beds and views.
Staff and communication with house manager was excellent.
Close walk to shops and restaurants.

Our stay at Villa Gaeta was amazing! From the onset, we received a warm welcome from answering questions pre-arrival to our actual stay. The property and amenities are top notch. Upon arrival, Mary and Tony greeted us and walked us through the home and explained in great detail how to navigate the home and guidance on the surrounding area. The view from the main area is stunning, even with the condo building which obstructed the view (NOT the owners fault). The staff was friendly and extremely attentive. Having fresh breakfast in the morning is a very refreshing touch and is something we definitely enjoyed. (Thank you Doria, Tony, and Lalo!) Honestly, could not ask for better assistance with maintaining the upkeep. I would highly recommend staying here if you are traveling with family or large group of friends. This place is truly a gem.

Villa Gaeta was just as beautiful as advertised in the listing. The location was perfect and allowed us to easily walk back and forth from ZR. As other reviewers have stated, the hill back is no joke and we sometimes took a cab back at night. Mary was very helpful and was nice enough to get us some provisions to have on hand prior to our arrival. I would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Gaeta! It was immaculately clean upon arrival and maintained throughout the week. Doria’s breakfasts were amazing and a lovely start to each morning. The pool was great to return to every day and Mary was super helpful in arranging taxis for us. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend-better than expected!!

We have been coming to PV for 10 years and love the old town and getting into the neighborhoods, Villa Gaeta has a great location, and old PV-style open living. The beds were great, very clean, and maintained. The staff was exceptional. Be prepared to walk some stairs. We will be going back soon.

The villa was beautiful! Perfect for my little family! The staff was so nice to us. They made us feel at home. Can’t wait to go back! The only bad thing is the walk it’s to steep. If you’re in good shape you can walk but if not it’s better for you to Uber.

Mary and the rest of the staff were incredible. They made this staff extra special with the amount of detail, hard work, and care they put into the property and accommodating the guests.
The property was beautiful. My 5 friends and I loved staying here. It had a beautiful view and we loved swimming in the pool whiling taking in that view.
The location is pretty close to the bars and restaurants. We ubered mostly because we didn’t want to walk up the hill to get to the place but if you’re more physically fit, go for it! It was a little difficult to find initially but Mary was very communicative in helping us find the place when we go there.
I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this place!

Four of us (2 couples over 50) stayed at this property for seven nights in February 2023. The location was perfect & although the property is located up hill from downtown, it was far more walkable than other areas we have stayed in the area; however, if you are not into walking or out of shape, please plan to take a taxi or Uber to/from the house. The property manager, Mary, was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our questions and issues. The staff (two) was there every day except for Sunday from about 9:00 am until 1:00pm. Doria prepared a continental breakfast each day which included fruit, danish from a local bakery, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. The villa offered a menu of other breakfast options which we had prepared twice but found the prices significantly higher than going downtown to eat. We did not opt to have any prepared dinners at the house as there was a cost to prepare, a cost to shop and the cost of the food — again, much cheaper to go out to explore the many amazing and extremely affordable restaurants PV offers! Having stayed in other staffed villas in PV for the past 15+ years, this one did not offer the level of service we have received in the past, so if you are looking for pampering or service beyond a continental breakfast and bed making, this is not the villa for you. The house is a lovely, older authentic Mexican home. It has not been updated and could use some refreshing (bedding, towels, furniture, etc.).Overall, just fine!

This place is absolutely incredible!!!!! All the reviews are amazing for a good reason. My friends and I had the most amazing time. The villa it’s so so beautiful, even more in person than in the photos. The staff is soooo kind and they gave us space but were also so helpful. It was my birthday and my friends surprised me with decorations and the staff helped put them up :) Mary is so awesome especially, so kind and helpful and understanding. I cannot say enough positive things about this space and my birthday was really amazing because of it. I definitely plan to come back in the future!!!!!!

This is a great property. Three large bedrooms each with a king size bed and full bathroom. The bedrooms are all very large. The living areas were wonderful with a fully equipped kitchen, nice sized pool and sitting area. The villa is a short walk to the main area in Zona Romantica and a cheap Uber ride to anywhere. All of the staff were wonderful and made us feel welcome. Daily housekeeping and breakfast was a great perk that we all loved. I would highly recommend and we will stay here again when returning to Puerto Vallarta.

The staff was fantastic. Doria prepared 4 great meals for us. Antonio and Eduardo were very helpful. Mary the owner checked us in the first night and was very accommodating.
The villa is very close to the Romantic Zone as long as you exit out of the bottom of the villa. When you get dropped off and picked up by taxis and Ubers only give them the bottom address which is different from the top address. They will get lost because the numbers aren’t even close to going in order.
If you rent this villa in the first part of 2023 keep in mind there is active building construction every day on a high rise very nearby. Music echoes through the valley on the weekends. There are no glass windows so you can hear everything nearby including the waves surprisingly. Two bedrooms are on one floor and the 3rd is up a very narrow circular staircase. The villa is nice but on the old side. My toilet was leaking and had a bucket placed underneath. They advise putting all toilet paper into the trash instead of flushing which is kinda gross. The shower pressure and hot water take some time to get to the top bathroom. The biggest negative for me and my group was that the beds are some of the hardest I’ve ever tried to sleep on, and I travel internationally a lot.
Rent this villa if you want a great staff with a great small pool that is very close to town.

It doesn't get much better than Villa Gaeta! The property is lovely and the staff was outstanding. Mary, the property manager and her staff made the entire process effortless. The property is so beautiful and comfortable, that the six of us wanted to spend all our time enjoying the Villa. It is convenient to old town PV with a bit of a hike downwards (and upwards). The view was gorgeous despite the new high-rise building blocking some of the original view. We especially enjoyed the private pool. Doria's delicious breakfasts each morning and dinner on our last night were to die for. All outstanding!!! We can't wait to return. The ONLY thing lacking was a hairdryer....

Lakeville, MN Neighbors Vacation
Excellent stay! Everything was just like the photos showed. Perfect for 3 couples as we all had king sized beds & our own full bathroom 3rd bedroom requires agility to climb a few more stairs. We didn’t realize the 3rd bedroom was not on the same level as the others. Staff and services were excellent.
Doria’s cooking was authentic & fabulous. Doria was always packaging our leftovers so we could snack later. Mary & staff were wonderful with stocking the kitchen as we flew in later Saturday knowing we had no staff on Sunday. They were ready w/ chips, salsa, guacamole & refreshments. Also Mary helped with all plans for Covid testing & transportation making everything less stressful. Thank you Mary for always checking in on us. Reading the guest book gave us great tips for restaurants etc. We had an unforgettable time & hope to return. I recommend Villa Gaeta with no hesitation!!! Regarding construction, we have never stayed at Villa Gaeta before so we don’t know what we were missing but the bay was still visible on both sides of the new building. Construction was low key & was a pass time & free entertainment for our guys.

Stayed here for 5 days with my wife and a few friends. We planned our trip only about a month in advance so by the time we reserved our VRBO there weren't a lot of options left. This may not have been our first choice had we booked further out but Mary and her team honestly turned us around with their exemplary service and hospitality.
You can order breakfast to be made for you there in the morning. We did twice and Doria made us the chicken with chiliquiles which was super good and the Machaca beef dish. The fresh squeezed oj was such a nice touch. If you don't want to order breakfast there is still coffee you can make yourself.
Eduardo was very friendly and ready to assist whenever he was around in the morning. We appreciate him getting a taxi for us and he recommended a great beach spot for us one day.
The only downside is something that could not be helped by Mary and team and that is unfortunately the construction of a very large building that we endured every morning starting at 8am. This giant ear and eye sore obstructs what used to be a gorgeous panoramic view over the town towards the ocean. We spent quite a bit of down time at the house so the view was a bummer. The noise projects right into the bedrooms, so ear plugs may be required for late sleepers.
Still, we enjoyed our stay and are very thankful to Mary, Doria and Eduardo for their hospitality.

Exceptional Staff and Service, Interrupted Views
We had an amazing time at Villa Gaeta. Mary, Doria, Tony and everyone was so accommodating and helpful. Mary was easily available to reach via WhatsApp to respond to questions and she arranged many things for us including groceries, meals, COVID tests, transportation and recommendations. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Truly exceptional!!
The home and pool area are very relaxing, but keep in mind that the view of the city and bay is now interrupted by the building of a massive new condo complex. It's a shame the city of PVR has allowed such a massive building to obscure the view of so many homeowners in that area. The construction noise was tolerable though, just bring earplugs if you want to sleep in. This is absolutely no fault of the villa operators. They did an amazing job of making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Very pleasant stay at Villa Gaeta
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Gaeta, located in Zona Romantica , very much. Everything was accurately described, and Mary was very responsive before and during our stay. No complaints at all.

We booked this property to celebrate a 70th birthday cancelled cruise. We decided it would be smart to stay in our own bubble and are thrilled that we booked Villa Gaeta. The villa sits high on a hill overlooking Puerto Vallarta and the view was stunning. However, a new building is being constructed right in front of the villa so you are missing a chunk of the view. Fireworks were still visible every night. The house staff was incredible and we took advantage of Doria cooking us breakfast daily, and it was amazing. Also, the taxi company run by Francisco was easily accessible and his drivers were accommodating. We were able to organize a 5 hour tour of the area with one of his drivers and were not disappointed. Although we were only 5-10 minutes from old town the walk would have been incredibly hard. Remember it was high on a hill! You also need to be aware of the amount of stairs involved in the visit. The villa from the road to pool level was about 30 stairs and anyone with mobility issues would find it hard. You could also continue down another 69 steps to get you to the lower road. If you can do that many stairs this villa would be an excellent choice. Definitely on our list to visit again.
