About this house rental

This is our second of three Lake Hamilton vacation properties. We additionally offer two three-bedroom lakefront homes (another main channel and one quiet cove) nearby. We have been hosting since 2006, during which time we have worked to make each year better than the last for not only our returning guests but our new guests as well.

Be sure to ask about last minute specials or off season discounts!

We also have two kayaks and a stand up paddle board for guests to enjoy on the beautiful Main Channel of Lake Hamilton!

Please contact Stan with any questions whatsoever, regarding minimum stays or rates.

Lake levels on Lake Hamilton are lower from November until March, but we are on the main channel and have year round water.

This lakefront private home can provide accommodation for up to six people in three bedrooms with two full bathrooms. Additional guests can sleep on two double sofa beds. It is a two-story home, and upstairs there is a full kitchen. Downstairs we've added a kitchenette for your convenience just off the lake.

There is a large swimming dock, and flagstone walk which leads you from the home down to the private lakefront access.

As you enter the home on the upper level, there are two bedrooms and one full bathroom with shower. There is a fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen opens onto the dining area and adjacent living room with Dish Satellite. From there the home's amazing views can be appreciated from a large outdoor deck with table and seating for four. There is a propane barbecue grill on the deck.

The downstairs level has one bedroom. There is a full bathroom with shower and also a smaller kitchenette with refrigerator and stove. The room opens up to another large deck from which you can head down to the lake or just enjoy the view.

Bath towels and linens are provided, but we ask that you bring your own beach towels for use at the lake. No Smoking, please.

Here are some of our favorite activities when visiting Lake Hamilton and Hot Springs National Park:

• Since our home is lakefront, you can enjoy Lake Hamilton just steps from the back door!

• You can use our boat dock for docking your boat! We are on the main channel, so there is no shortage of action! Swim right off the boat dock, too!

• You can enjoy water skiing, tubing, wake boarding and all the fun that time on the lake in a boat brings!

• Many of our guests love to fish right off the boat dock.

• Try out the Belle of Hot Springs River Boat. The Belle offers cruises for either lunch or dinner. Treat yourself to beautiful Lake Hamilton and let someone else steer you around the lake!

• National Park Duck tours are another option for getting out on the water and exploring Lake Hamilton if you don't have your own boat. It's an amphibious vehicle which will take you on a tour of town before splashing into the water and cruising around the lake.

Garvan Woodland Gardens

• Garvan Gardens is a year-round attraction

• No matter what time of the year you visit, the gardeners have made sure that the flowers and landscaping make the most of that season's local shrubs, flowers and trees.

• Bring your family and bring the camera for some spectacular photography backdrops!

• At Christmastime, don't miss the extensive light display!

• Hidden Gem: The Anthony Chapel.

What do Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, and Bella Vista have in common? Yes, two of them have “Springs” in their names, and they’re excellent towns to visit, of course, but there’s something else they have in common. All three are home to similar chapels. The facades of these chapels are all slightly different, and the interiors are not identical, but what they have in common is that they successfully unite the beauty of the outdoors with the details of man-made ingenuity and focus on giving visitors a peaceful nondenominational experience in a setting that exalts both the wider natural world and the inner spirituality of their visitors. Not to be missed!

Oaklawn Racing and Gaming

• Oaklawn Park is a world-class thoroughbred racing course which hosts live racing from January to May. Don't miss the Racing Festival of the South, with the Grade I Arkansas Derby (known for producing various Kentucky Derby winners). You can now also head to Oaklawn to watch and bet on the Kentucky Derby the first weekend in May!

• If you're not able to visit in the spring, don't fret as you can still wager in comfort and style at the Oaklawn Gaming Casino, which often features local live music.

Historic Downtown Hot Springs (P.S., take Blacksnake road back into town from our home and you'll not only go through the National Park to get there, but you'll miss all the traffic!):

• By far the most popular attraction in Hot Springs is the National Park (which by the way was designated as a reserve by the federal government in 1832!! That's 40 years before Yellowstone!) Be sure to walk down world famous Bathhouse Row. The Fordyce bathhouse has been beautifully restored and serves as the Visitor Center for the National Park.

• Relax and take your mind off your worries with a bath from the natural hot mineral waters that seep to the ground and give the area its name. The Quapaw Baths as well as the Buckstaff Baths give you the opportunity to treat yourself and step back in time to a world of luxury and pampering.

• While downtown, you'll find a various shops, restaurants and art galleries when you want to take a break from all the sightseeing.

• When you're downtown you'll see the steam rising from the water as it bubbles up from the ground. Yes, it's really really hot!

Activities for the children:

• Just down from the National Park on Whittington Avenue you'll find the Arkansas Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo.

• Our lake home is only minutes away from Mid-America Science Museum. It's another hidden gem of Hot Springs and the kids will love it. There are lots of interactive displays which teach science at the same time!

• It wouldn't be a town for tourists with out some good old fashioned mini-golf!! Our home is minutes from Volcano Falls Mini Golf. Other themed options include Pirates Cove Adventure Golf and T-Rex Indoor Mini Golf (they've got you covered if you need to escape the hot summer weather).

• Magic Springs Theme and Water Park has been a mainstay in Hot Springs since 1977 (they did have a brief hiatus) but it's back and as popular as ever. Take the kids to all the amusement park rides, or enjoy the water park to beat the heat. Check the Magic Springs website to read about the summer concert series at the Timberwood Amphitheater throughout the summer. With genres ranging from classic rock, country, Christian to contemporary, park visitors are sure to find music to their liking this summer at Magic Springs!

Nightlife:

• Hot Springs has no shortage of entertainment spots for the adults in your group.

• For those theater fans, Hot Springs also has you covered! Try Maxwell Blade's Theatre of Magic & Comedy, Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre, Hot Springs Central Theater or the Pocket Theatre.

Annual Events:

• If you're visit coincides with March 17, check out the Worlds Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Head down to Bridge Street downtown and try to get a good viewing spot! I hear they are hard to come by!

• The Hot Springs Motorcycle Rally roars into town in early September. Visitors from all over come for a parade and various concerts.

Yes, Even More Fun Things to Do:

• Various wineries operate downtown for all the wine lovers who visit. Check out the Winery of Hot Springs, Bath House Row Winery or Spa City Tropical Winery and Gifts.

• Did you bring your jacked up Jeep? Head straight to Superlift Off Road Vehicle Park and get muddy! (Send us pictures, please)

There was good and bad with this stay. Starting with the good. The location is fantastic, the water and dock was nice. Overall the house was nice with comfortable beds and included everything we needed. However there were some unexpected drawbacks. First the stairs to the bed room below are very narrow and steep. My elder parents were planning to stay down there but had to relocate them upstairs as it was too steep for them to climb. As far as WiFi.., forget about it. It’s in and out and weak. There is also only 1 tv in the entire house. The stove downstairs did not work. The listing said there were 2 kayaks and a paddle board which our teens were excited about. However there wasn’t a paddle board and there were no paddles for the kayaks to use them. When I attempted to take a shower that evening after arrival, the upstairs. shower handle was broken and would not turn on hot water. I took a shower downstairs, and notified the property owners. They thankfully had someone come by the next morning to fix it. Finally, we paid a cleaning fee and pet fee of $300 total. Yet the house was still full of dust, hair, and dirt. We had to sweep under several rugs as it obviously was not swept. There is dust piled in several places throughout the house including the window seals and coffee table which had magazines covered with pet hair and dust. One of the upstairs bedrooms sheets had stains. If I’m paying that much money for cleaning, I expect it to be clean.

The property was lovely and well equipped. The proximity to 3 parks (Hot Springs, Lake Catherine, and Lake Ouachita) was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

Great location. 2 miles from grocery store. Nice dock, shaded in afternoon/evening. Saved much renting pontoon boat from owner vs. renting from Marina! Only minor issue we had Internet connection is weak. Overall, great stay!

We stayed for 6 days and had a great time. We had a great view of the eclipse, that was awesome! Then I celebrated my birthday there. My husband & 1 other couple stayed there & we very comfortable & enjoyed our visit. The home has steps down to get into the house then some steep steps down to the lower level so be sure you can handle steps before renting

Not a bad place beautiful view, but couches cou ld be updated (have stains and just nasty looking) it is not a clean place can really really use a good deep cleaning. Floors left the bottom of your feet black Bring socks! Hair in the shower. Not properly maintained. Cleaning lady looked like she took the year off. Had to at less sweep the floor on our vacation which wasn’t what we was anticipating. The house is everything we wanted and needed but Needs to be cleaned and sprayed for bugs we had a kill a few while there. There a trailer across the street that is ran down and was a bit sketchy at first but never once bothered or talked to us. Would rent again if it’s properly cleaned! Stan was very easy to accommodating to communicate to!

We loved the upper deck and the view of the lake. Our toddler grandson loved being able to go in and out and watching for "boat!" The dogwoods and redbuds were in full bloom and the setting was lovely. The communication with the host was easy and responsive, check in was a breeze and the house had everything you could need. We were disappointed with the cleanliness, especially since previous reviews had all given high marks for it being clean. This is a dog friendly rental, but the furniture is stained badly as are the rugs. We put blankets down on the couch and loveseat upstairs. There were still coffee grounds in the pot from the last renter and our toddler grandson found quite a bit of trash, wrappers and used tissues that were not ours. Several dishes had to be washed before we could use them. The linens were clean and the beds were comfortable and we just cleaned and went on with our stay. We would stay again if the furniture was updated and we hope the cleaning was just a one off. Overall we had a great four days.
