This tranquil retreat is located in Carlsbad Village, right across the street from Carlsbad’s best beach, making it the perfect getaway. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the historic Monterey-Gage condo complex, you can literally walk to everything: the beach, the shops, restaurants, services, night spots, the train station, the lagoons, and parks. You will enjoy the beach life in this relaxing one bedroom condo which boasts spacious front and back patios which add to your enjoyment of the great Carlsbad weather. Inside enjoy a new 42-inch flat screen tv and a comfortable queen-size sofa bed. The master bedroom features a California king bed with an ultra quiet split air-conditioning unit to keep you cool and comfortable as well as a new 32-inch flat screen smart tv. French doors lead to the brick-paved patio. This ground-level condo also has a covered carport just steps away as well as a common BBQ/patio area. Beach toys, boogie boards, and beach chairs are provided for your time at the beach. Come and enjoy the beach life and the charm of Carlsbad at a location you cannot beat. We offer no contact check-in. If booking in summer, we only rent weekly - Saturday to Saturday.

Unit wasn’t very clean, very messy dirty kitchen cupboards. Bathroom had long black hair in tub (we both have short gray hair so it wasn’t ours!) the whole room smells of mold. Bathroom door doesn’t close. We have been vacationing in Carlsbad for 30+ years and stayed in many VRBO units , this was by far the worst ever!!! It needs a deep cleaning and extensive maintenance.

We've stayed in Pam's condo numerous times and always look forward to our next stay. Location is great as we prefer to walk or take the Coaster rather than driving. Occasional sounds from the upstairs unit can be heard. We do enjoy the sounds of the trains going by. We like to relax on the patio early morning and late evenings. The complex is generally quiet as most tenants are respectful of others.

In the heart of Carlsbad village, just a short walk from the Coaster station to take you up to Oceanside or even all the way down to San Diego. Very cozy and clean place in a quiet yet beautiful neighborhood!

In spite of heavy rain (atmospheric river) twice during stay, earthquakes close by and tornado warnings for San Diego (which never materialized) we had a wonderful three weeks in Carlsbad. The condo was so very comfortable, very clean and location was excellent. Quick walk to the fantastic beach was definitely a plus. After a day of being out we always loved coming back to the serenity of the complex. Checkin was uneventful and it was definitely a plus to have parking so close and be on ground level. We wished we could have spent more time out in the patio, but enjoyed the time we did. Absolutely would recommend this accommodation!

Pam’s condo was adorable, clean, well-equipped, and could not have been in a better location: steps from great coffee, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and the beach. Pam warned me about the possibility of ants in the bathroom, and we did see a few – but she had laid traps out, and it really didn’t affect us that much. Aside from that, everything was perfect!

Great as always! This was our 3rd visit. Close to great restaurants, shopping and beach. Parking space is wonderful. Apartment has a casual beach vibe and love the front patio area for morning coffee or evening cocktail. We will be back again in May 2024.

This was our 7th stay at this property. We keep returning because the condo is unbeatable. It's within walking distance to various quality restaurants, interesting shops, and a great beach. The condo is comfortable and has two outdoor patio areas, WiFi, a TV with all the channels you could want, and a well-equipped kitchen if you choose to do some cooking. The covered off-street parking is a real plus. What's not to like about this property?

The property was fine. Not our style but adequate and well supplied and located. Unfortunately it was quite cold so we were unable to enjoy the beach as much as we would have liked. The mexican and chinese restaurants that we went to were wonderful. We did enjoy our stay but would have liked it a little warmer.

The condo was just perfect for the two of us. Located walking distance to Carlsbad beach, literally steps to several delicious restaurants in the heart of Carlsbad. An expansive grassy common area welcomed on arrival and everything you would want was provided by our host, Pam, who was readily available, and made communication so simple. A super comfortable bed, everything functioned perfectly, covered sitting areas in front and another off the bedroom offered great space for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Everything was so easy and inviting, and cozy. Can't ask for more than this in the beach atmosphere we all crave.

We've always enjoyed our stays in Carlsbad and especially in Pam's VRBO. We're an active couple in our early 70's and the central location of this first floor condo is perfect.. it's just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, convience store, shopping and coaster train station. We enjoy the 'comings and goings' within the condo complex during the day...and quietness at night (albeit for the occasional train whistle and 'city sounds') . The covered parking , private patio for morning coffee and evening night cap, comfortable interior, air conditioned bedroom, the operable sliding doors and windows for light and breezes, provided beach chairs / umbrellas/ boogie boards plus onsite coin operated laundry facility..... are unique from other places we've stayed in Carlsbad. It's just different from what we are used to in Arizona. We will be back.

Great location to enjoy carlsbad village by foot. Close to beach, shopping and food. Lots of night life for my 21 year old daughter too. Condo is set in quiet courtyard and loved patio in front and parking for car. Perfect for two adults. Plan on coming to stay again.

Location, location, location!

Everything was easy from booking to arriving. The owner had great communication with great directions. This location is perfect for walking everywhere. The place is as cute as the photos and was very comfortable. We had everything we needed and it was great to use the beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella. We had everything for a perfect day at the beach! Having our own covered parking spot was even better although we didn’t have to drive anywhere. We felt very safe in this little complex and everyone we met were very nice. My husband and I will definitely come back and stay here again. Thank you!

This property was in the perfect location. Walking distance to all that Carlsbad Village has to offer and about a block or so from the beach. The property owner was easily reachable by phone at check in when I had some difficulty with the keypad, and promptly lined up a plumber to address a clogged bathtub drain. Would absolutely stay at this property again!

Comfortable and well equipped, enjoyed the front patio and the proximity to the beach as well as the village shops and restaurants. The train station is only a few blocks away too. I have stayed at Monterrey Gage complex several times and this unit is the best one so far.
