We really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Pines! The beautiful wood inside and peaceful deck out back would make you think you are on a secluded lake and not just outside the city.
We enjoyed all of our stay and will definitely be back again!

Overall our stay was great. The cabin has everything you need including towels which is rare for a cabin in WI. We loved the classic log cabin feel and gas fireplace. We used the canoe that is included with the stay. We were missing oars but the property manager was wonderful and provided them right away. Only two things that I’ll note. There is no privacy outside this cabin. Your front door is on a board walk that leads to another cabin, the office, and shops. The back does have the lake but you can see the lumberjack show from the dock and the office is right next door as the other cabin is on the other side. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have young ones, this may not be the cabin for you. The floor creaking is LOUD. There is no sneaking around and you can hear everything. Even from upstairs. But overall we enjoyed our stay and these things didn’t bother us!

The cabin was clean and check in was easy. On arrival there was no where to park our boat so we could check in. This location has the lumberjack show literally right there. My kids (as well as myself and my husband) were so disappointed on arrival Pictures represent a different scenario along with description. We ended up having to find another place to stay to have an up north fishing vacation feel. This cabin is great for a different type of vacation such as spending a few days in town shopping/visiting the city of Hayward. Not for relaxing, fishing etc………

The cabin was spacious and cabin-y -- log construction, rustic decor, etc. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms (it was GREAT to have the extra half bath), and Michelle, the manager, made sure we had everything to make our stay comfortable. The floors are REALLY creaky - no sneaking around in this place - but that's a quibble. Being on a finger of Hayward Lake was also nice. We used the provided canoe for a morning paddle. Tickets to mini-golf and the Lumberjack show were a nice bonus. The cabin is close to everything, so if you're looking for a secluded getaway far from the "action," this isn't it. But if you want to be minutes away from downtown and next door to the fabulous River Deck restaurant, it's a great choice. Would definitely book again.

While the property was as advertised, we were very disappointed in the fact that any movement in the cabin could be heard on both floors. So if someone woke, everyone woke. We left a day early because of lack of sleep.

We had a nice stay with our family! We ran into problems with the smoke alarm going off a few times when trying to cook a frozen pizza due to there not being a vent fan in the kitchen. And the shower and bathroom had a very low ceiling and that should be stated on the listing. My father hit his head pretty hard. There is a nail sticking out on the kitchen floor that needs to be addressed. And I called Rhonda to get a black garbage bag and found out she no longer works there, she should pry be taken off the papers hanging up. These are all minor complaints. We really enjoyed our time at the Village. We will be looking into coming back possibly next year. Thank you for the hospitality.

The location was perfect for our purposes. I used to live in Hayward WI and I wanted a place close to town to eliminate travel time to town to see friends, but with the cabin feeling like I was on an UpNorth Wisconsin lake. This place had both. The cabin was very woodsy, We were given 4 free tickets to the Lumberjack Show and the miniature golf as well.It was a great vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin, it was very clean with plenty of room. Rhonda was very quick in responding to any questions. The Hayward festival was going on so we walked the town, since it was late in the season some things were not open. We had a lot of rain overnight but it didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. We will stay again when we can bring our grandchildren.

The best of both worlds- quiet lakefront property with plenty to do. We didn’t have neighbors in cabin B so that was amazing. Might be a little tight with unfamiliar neighbors next door

We could not have been any happier with our stay at Lumberjack Village! The cabin was immaculate and very cozy. It had all of the amenities one would need or want. The five of us had plenty of space of our own. The indoor elements of the cabin are comfortable, but the outdoor elements really shine. The back porch is a great size, and the property backs up to Lake Hayward. There is a pier that my wife and I had coffee on every morning, and watched the sun go down every afternoon. The lake water is pristine, and we were also given a canoe and paddle boat to use during our stay. We all loved the canoe especially. The backyard was always quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a fire every night in the backyard fire pit.
The two rental cabins are located in a very unique spot in the village, steps away from a great ice cream shop and a fantastic, upscale restaurant, also adjacent to the lake. The lumberjack show was an amazing spectacle, one we won’t soon forget. Make sure you go!! The mini-golf across the street is also a fun track. Main Street in Hayward has great shops, bars, and restaurants, and is an easy walk from Lumberjack Village. The small, private beach in Hayward is about half a mile, very walkable even in summer shoes, and was clean and well-maintained.
Rhonda, Fred, Kenny, and anyone who was a part of Lumberjack Village were wonderful, so kind, approachable, and welcoming. The Northwoods are special, and the cabins at the Village are equally great.

We had a very good stay love the luxe and the aesthetics of the cabin. Very close to everything however timing wasn’t great on our part as lots of things were closed close by. The floors were creaky and loud and we happen to have a mouse join us for our last visit. However the person that took care of us did come over and bring mouse traps. I would definitely recommend it to people

Clean cabin, but misleading pictures
The cabin is very clean inside, nothing fancy but good enough if your just there to sleep. Had some communication with the property manager Rhonda before staying that was very unsettling and not handled in the correct way. The pictures look like the cabin is more off the beaten path, but definitely in a commercial, very busy parking lot. Cars flying in constantly and not any privacy. We would try and relax on the front porch and constantly had people walking right on our porch, through our chairs to go to the lumberjack show. Rent if you want a clean location located in town

Nice and clean
My husband and I recently spent the weekend here and had a great time. Although it was in town and there are cabins and a shop next door, it was quiet and peaceful. I think if Covid wasn’t going on and it was during the busy season it wouldn’t have been quite so peaceful. If you’re looking for a remote cabin, this one probably wouldn’t be for you. It’s perfect though if you want the scenic lake view and want to still be close to everything. It was clean and perfect for what we needed.

Quilters getaway
My daughter, friend and I decided to get away for the weekend to sew and enjoy the fall weather. Perfect spot for a quilters retreat and fun to head out and check out the area.

Nice little get away.
I loved the cabin, very cute and very clean! It was perfect for a quiet little get away. I didn't realize how close it was to the road and traffic though. Walking distance to several things but due to everything going on this year a lot was closed. Loved that we could walk out the back and fish a little. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful Cabin for a family getaway!
What a great find! Rustic and charming! It had everything we needed and more! It was nice to be able to sit on the back deck and watch the kids fish from the dock! They caught quite a few and had a blast! The paddle boat and canoe were a big hit too! Walking distance to many things and a very short drive to others! We would definitely recommend to others and will keep Lazy Pine in mind for future trips! Rhonda was a delight to converse with and answered all our questions quickly and efficient. Check in and check out was a breeze and went very well!

Nice log cabin feel on a lake
Beautiful natural wood cabin with lots of space and nice back porch/lawn abutting the water. Also with nice front porch with Adirondack chairs. Very clean and professionally managed. Some difficulty in getting consistent internet/WiFI connection.

Nice fully stocked cabin
Great property with everything you need. Nice canoe and paddle boat and even air conditioning. Nice to fish from dock. Just know you are very close to town and two other cabins. Nice for getting groceries and going into town but not your remote up north experience. Located on a narrow channel vs the main lake. Enjoyed our stay!

Cool Cabin with an scenic but shallow lake
The cabin was perfect for our family. Everything worked great. Nice shower and bath, with a good functioning kitchen. Loved the canoe and paddle boat. Back deck was nice to sit and relax. The lake was nice to take an evening cruise on our boat, but fishing was limited and the lack was a bit shallow for our motor. Very nice for swimming, public beach was excellent.

Quaint place for a get away. We had 2 adults, three kids (15,17,20)
Our place is right next to the property office and a couple shops, it was very quiet the wknd we were there but I could imagine it gets pretty busy at times. We slept 3 comfortably in beds, the pull out couch needs a mattress replacement-we ended up buying an air mattress for the other kids. The cot was also very thin-fine for one night for a small child but not great. Other than that the place had everything you needed for a little get away! We rented paddle boards from the boat shop around the corner!

Lovely stay at Lazy Pines
This was our first trip to Hayward and we were very happy to pull up to the Lazy Pines Cabin for an 8-night stay. The location was perfect for all that Hayward has to offer and the free tickets to the Lumberjack Show and the miniature golf within walking distance was an added bonus. Rhonda was wonderful to work with and answered all our questions prior to and during our stay. The cabin was perfect for the four of us, and we enjoyed fishing off the pier and gathering around the fire pit almost every night. The free firewood was plentiful and the weather was perfect to sit out either on the front porch or the back porch. You can't go wrong with having the ice cream shop and Mainstream Boutique two doors down. If I had to change anything, it would be a more comfy couch in the living room, but being that it's a pullout that might be why it's not firm throughout. The kitchen could use a few more utensils, but we got by with what they had and you could also run to the Dollar General or Dollar Tree if needed. If you're looking for a wonderful buffet for lunch or dinner, stop in at the Sevenwinds Casino only four minutes away. Overall, we were very happy with the cabin and made it our home away from home for eight days.

Getaway
We stayed at the property for 4 nights and enjoyed the cabin in the lumberjack village. We were able to walk to dinner and mini golf. You are on a channel that leads to Lake Hayward. We had a nice time but visited during the lumberjack world championship which made the area pretty busy. We were gone most of the day so it did not bother us but if you want a quite weekend getaway you might want to stay away from that weekend in August. However, we were instructed that this was a busy time for the area ahead of our visit. We enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous, Clean Cabin Right in Town
The cabin was extremely clean, had every amenity we needed, excellent air conditioning, and comfy beds/ pillows. Tons of towels, games, puzzles, cable, and DVD player, etc. The cabin was right on the lake and came with a paddleboat and a canoe. The swimming in front of the cabin is not great, but there is an awesome swim beach with a playground that we paddleboated to (like 2 minutes) every day. There wasn't a lot of noise from the Lumberjack show, and we got to see it - it was a hoot! We caught some fish in the lake but had more luck bringing the boat to Nelson Lake (10 minute drive). It was great being in town, just a couple of minutes to the grocery store, Walmart, Main Street, anywhere. The rest if our family stayed on Nelson Lake, which was beautiful, but they were all jealous of our cabin. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!
