Not what I hoped

So I didn't have the best room. There was a bee hive on my deck. First day I was stung by multiple bees. The hive was never removed so I couldn't enjoy the deck the entire stay. The room had a empty box and gold fish and cheese puffs on floor upon arrival. Coffee maker was very outdated and frig took a day and a half to cool. Kitchen ceiling panel fell on my head while cooking. Wifi never worked while there. The beach was further then told. Staff was very polite and friendly however.

We had a great time and were comfortable and happy with our place.

The location was good. we had a nice balcony overlooking the lake. The balcony was a bit small for our group of 6 so we mostly cooked and hung out at another condo close by that is a family time share. Each room had their own bathroom, including an extra downstairs and that was a bonus.

The toilets all were very sluggish flushers. We did not know the condo required walking upstairs since the number was 108. That was a slight problem for one of our family members. We did like being upstairs, but handicap access would be nice.

Pretty good other than the bed!

The king bed was SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE we had to buy an egg crate for the bed just to get sleep. I would not stay there again until bed is updated! Other than that which is a big deal, the place was clean and nice!

Expectations were not met for the price paid for our stay.

Loved the pickleball courts and how close the beach was to the condo

Our condo was dirty, the shower curtain was covered with mold (which they replaced). I sent photos of the dusty tables, garbage under the bed, the last visitors clothes were still in the dresser drawers, none of the clocks had been changed to Daylight savings time. I reached out to Jacqueline Runyan from Vacasa, who I assume was head of housekeeping, with phone calls and emails and received no response. Very disappointed with the cleanliness. I asked for a partial refund on the cleaning fee, again received no response. I will give great thought to renting through Vacasa again.

Can't wait to come back.

We liked that there was a lot to do, close to the beach, and the condo was a perfect size for our family. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The kids were able to fish in the lagoon, which they loved and we learned how to play Pickleball.

The only thing we were bummed about was that the pool was closed but it ended up being a little chilly for the pool.

It was fine.

I love Island. I’ve had a timeshare in another building for years. We needed an extra unit this year.

We couldn’t get in our condo because the keypad on the door didn’t work. It took several calls to get the code for the lock box to get the backup keys. The property manager told us she was going to fix the keypad but never did and was uncommunicative. The kitchen was not setup to actually make meals. With minimal effort the kitchen could be so much more functional.

Great apartment and grounds except for closed pool and second floor apt. with no elevator.

Access to beach, amenities in apartment

The unit was #107 yet when we arrived we found it was on the second floor with NO elevator access. Not a big deal except that I had a knee injury, crutches. Plus, the bedrooms were on the second floor! And the pool was closed for reno! None of this was stated on the website info.

Very good

We enjoyed the pools and hot tub. Also, it was an easy, short walking distance to the beach, which was very peaceful and quiet.

Nice location, didn’t like the bugs in the condo and no response from property manager

BEACH (5 STARS): The main walkway to the beach does have several stairs, up a couple, walk a little, up a couple more, walk a little, down a couple, walk a little, up a couple- you get the point. We don't have a stroller/wagon or wheelchair, but it's worth noting for others that do. However, we did see signs for those with wheels to take a different route- so check that out before going through here! Once you get to the sand, it's a quick quick walk. Google earth will give you a good view. The area to rinse off has great water pressure. Also, the walk there is beautiful. ISLAND CLUB (5+ STARS): The plants, the grounds, the ponds- BEAUTIFUL!! They were constantly trimming and cleaning it all. They do a wonderful job! We asked if there were any resident alligators and they told us they remove them when one does stumble upon the waters here. CONDO (4 STARS): We stayed in the 107 in the building to the left. The unit is as described. Photos were accurate. It was spacious. It didn't come with any garbage bags, but thankfully we were prepared with our own. Also, we didn't see an elevator, but it only took us 3 trips in total to bring in the stuff up the two half bits of stairs. If you order from DoorDash or similar, specify with your driver that it’s the building on the left. Our driver took it to the other building. Beds (5 stars): The best part of the whole stay. The beds/mattresses (Ikea) and pillows (Ralph Lauren) were VERY comfortable. I slept really well. Privacy/Sound (5 stars): We could not hear people next to us, except when they closed their balcony door. It was awesome!!! Normally walls are very thin in condo/hotel buildings, but this was sound proof.

Cleanliness (2 STARS): Let me explain. I did rate it 4 stars and edited it. It's fine overall. It needs a good hard cleaning of floors/tiles, carpets, shower, chairs (see photos) etc. But it does feel clean enough to live in for a week. It felt vacuumed and linens cleaned. A good cleaning and a grout paint pen would do wonders!! Also, I did find food and water bottle under dressers and on guest room balcony (we left them there, we never used this balcony). The reason I rated it 2 is because we found roach like bugs the 3rd day. I contacted Vacasa and kept getting told “we will get back to you”. I did this via chat and email so I could have everything in writing with a timeline. We found 3 alive and 3 dead. The dead ones were in corners. The live ones were in the middle of the rug we had been playing on. We found them one day when we came back from the beach. We had to wash all of our clothes and pack our suitcases on day 3 to combat the fear of bringing home a roach (most likely). It was uncomfortable and I had a lot of anxiety the last two days. ‍POOL (1 STAR): The one area we were truly disappointed. From the photos and from a distance it's wonderful and one of the reasons we CHOSE this place. We loved the idea of the waterfall wall, but that wasn’t on at all. The pool is cloudy. So dirty. Not at first, but when you get close and especially if you have goggles. You can’t see your foot when you’re standing in the pool. We lasted about 10 minutes and left to rush to the shower. It's as if there's limited filtering. It was the warmest pool we've ever been in, and without the cloudy color it would have been wonderful, but the color plus the warmth made us feel gross. The baby pool did feel much cleaner. It was too small for my kids, but they ended up playing there a few times since they couldn’t get in the dirty pool. We didn't try the hot tub or tanning shelf.

Not applicable. No breakfast offered. We had our own kitchen and fixed our own meals and went out to restaurants.

The beds need to be replaced. Caused us to have back aches. There were no placemats for the table so we had to use paper towels under our plates. Ants crawled out from under the coffee pot the first time we used it. The refrigerator needs to be replaced, the front door is rusted and dented. The side as well. The master sink did not drain well.

Hard to access but once in was good

The location, the layout, the decor, access to the beach

The check in was too complicated. Did not fully realize I needed to go to the Vacasa app versus Bookings. could not find the 3 digit code easily to access the condo. had to call the staff only to get the security guide. The security guide was most helpful who came to the condo and gave us the code to access the condo since there were no keys also the footfalls from the above condo were very loud.
