Wat een prachtige ligging en relaxte locatie om Bacalar mee te maken.

De ligging is fantastisch, het restaurant is goed voor ontbijt en lunch, de staf is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De steiger is een geweldige plek om lekker te zwemmen en te zonnen. Er is yoga, een prachtige zonsopgang en je kan er ideaal kayaks en subs huren of meegaan met een van de tours.

Op woensdag hebben ze een feestavond. Dan heb je tot 2 uur 's nachts muziek. Dus houd daar rekening mee.

Hôtel donnant sur la lagoon et propose des activités sympathiques (cours de guacamole pour nous), extérieur incroyable.

Le plus gros problème est la Clim, impossible de la modifier, j’ai des migraines et mal à la gorge depuis la première nuit… Ensuite la lumière du jour entre dans la chambre comme s’il n’y avait pas de rideaux. Le prix reste élevé pour la qualité de l’auberge, les lits ne sont pas très confortables, deux lumières sur quatre ne fonctionnaient pas, la salle de bain se salit beaucoup trop rapidement et sûrement manque de chance mais les personnes dans notre dortoirs n’étaient vraiment pas respectueuses des autres (bruits et lumières en pleine nuit).

It was nice to meet other travelers and a good location from where you could do the activities you want to do

Paying this amount of money, I would expect your bed is ready to sleep in, instead you have to put up the sheets yourself

The Yak Lake House is located beautifully at the lagoon, but the best part about the place is not the location, but the vibe at this place. Additionally, the staff is just outstanding! Imara helped me with so many requests and always does so with a smile on her face!! Definitely gonna stay here again if I ever get the chance

Good and clean place, at the lake with entrance, a place to do water activities at the hostel. Different activities every night, and real nice staff, especially Imara from the reception, very welcoming and more than happy to help any moment.

Superb

Fun, sociable hostel in a beautiful lakeside location and a short walk to downtown. The 4-bed dorm was spacious and there’s big lockers to keep bags out of the way. Good to have an en-suite (the shower is ‘refreshing’) and you get a towel. There’s strong AC from 8pm-11am.

great location, good facilities, great dorms rooms which are cleaned constantly

we didn’t feel this was great value for money - prices were very high for our stay, overall the hostel is very expensive for just a dorm room plus also the bar is overpriced. should offer guests a discount on drinks with wristband vs visitors

the place is really nice, they have a good restaurant if you don’t want to cook, they have a bar, activities at the hostal and the company of activities water is in their dock and they have special prices for the guests

Not sure where to start from...staff were simply amazing helpful, fun and always willing to chat with guests. The hostel is super clean and there are always free activities organised by the staff..I went for a mojito class and yoga. This is not a party hostel even if there is music until 12am you can peaceful sleep. They organise a big party every Wednesday which was super nice. Travellers here were super super friendly and very respectful... Location is very convenient...10 min from the city centre. Bacalar is easy walkable ..

couples or solo travelers- stay here!

it was my first experience staying in a hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised, we stayed in a private room and the room was very clean with comfortable bed. I really enjoyed the morning yoga and the smoothies at the bar, the breakfast (not included) was also very delicious. The location is perfect, you have access to the lagoon and various activities, for an additional fee you can go on a boat trip, you can rent sup board etc. And there are s lot of restaurants and bars around. you can meet nice people there, unfortunately we had only one night stay there,but I bet that evening activities there are also fun. Complimentary welcome drink was a nice surprise :)

The weather was bad... but not a minus for the hostel of course. Except that I would have expected some more activities, cause everybody was hanging around doing nothing during Christmas.

Great hostel with everything you need in one place

The location is great if you just want to chill in one place - you can order breakfast, lunch and dinner here from the kitchen and there’s a bar. There’s filtered water and free coffee available too. There’s social activities everyday organised from 6.30am like sunset paddle boarding, yoga, workouts, and things like beer bong and salsa dancing in the evenings. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks from the hostel and there’s a company which runs boat trips too. You can access the lagoon from the end of the hostel’s pontoon for swimming. It is also really close to the town centre and other restaurants along the lagoon. Beds and lockers were spacious and had curtains (bottom bunks only). Lagoon views from each room was amazing especially sunrise. It’s definitely a social hostel.

There’s only 1 bathroom per dorm room which isn’t that many compared to how many people in each room. It was quite noisy in the evenings from the social events if you wanted an earlier night, I can imagine the neon party on Wednesdays would be really noisy - so I’d avoid staying then if you’re not into party hostels or you could ask for a quieter room. The shared kitchen was quite small if there were lots of you cooking in it.

Absolute paradise

I think this was the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Amazing location, nice staff, clean, spacious rooms. It felt like paradise. The hostel had tons of free events, which were so fun, especially if traveling alone! Examples were free cocktail making lessons (and yes, you drank them afterwards), free Spanish lessons, live music around a fireplace, as well as yoga and workout sessions in the morning. You could also book activities at the hostel such as Kayaking or Stand up Padeling and leave right from the jetty of the hostel. The city centre was a short 5 minute walk away and had loads of small shops and restaurants. The hostel also has its own restaurant and it always tasted great. People of all ages were staying there, so it's perfect for a holiday with friends, on your own, or a family trip! Everything looks exactly like on the property pictures! I really urge you to go here if you visit Bacalar.

The hostel has its own bar, therefore you were not allowed to bring your own alcohol. But the bar was unfortunately quite expensive for young people who are simply traveling.
