The food was excellent - so fresh and beautifully presented - we were 8 vegetarians - all left very pleased! Best food in fiaerland!
Staff was great! And amazing ambiance - the location was incredible - so beautiful!
A must do is the floating sauna nearby

The room was small but cozy. Amazing view. The breakfast was delicious.
The shower was tiny, smallest I've ever seen.
4.1
Beautiful historical house. With charm and character. Restaurant was exceptional. Staff very friendly and attentive.
The rooms are a bit small and you have to walk through the shower to go to the toilet. Everything gets soaked!
4.1
View, staff, cosy room, dinner tasty
Portion sizes of food could have been a little bigger!! But very tasty

Breakfast was wonderful!
Extremely welcoming and helpful!

Breakfast was great
Beds and floors in our room were very squeaky and the room itself was tiny.
4.1
Extremely beautiful view over lake.
Food is good.
Hotel is very charming
This hotel does not live up to the premium price per night that it is charging.
The hotel is to some extent worn down and could use a renovation here and there.
Rooms are very small and beds are not very comfortable.
Service level and professionalism of hotel personnel is much better in other historical hotels that Dalen Hotel or Hotel Union in Geiranger.
4.1
Charming room with much character and fjord views. Delicious home cooked dinner.

The property was absolutely stunning and such a cozy tucked away gem. Every staff member we met was incredibly kind and welcoming and made us feel like they could grant our every wish. It was raining most of our visit however we hardly noticed as the living spaces were so welcoming.

great dinner, friendly staff, historic hotel
4.1
The dinner was expensive but delicious and unique. The lobby is nice and peaceful. The view of the fiord.
Everything. The room was extremely small and dirty. We booked a bigger room and payed extra for it but got the cheaper room and a smaller one. We tried to fix it with the manager but with no success. There were no toiletry or a cattle to make coffee or tea. The bathroom and the shower were impossible to use. Hair dryer had no socket near the mirror. In total, the place is badly managed. It is a nice house but a terrible hotel. I deeply recommend to find somewhere else to stay in the area.

Nice breakfast, nice view from the room, large parking next to the hotel.
Friendly staff.
Delicious dinner, vegetarian dinner could have been more special.
Quiet.
A dog is allowed.
I didn’t like the carpet and the rugs in the room.
The double bed under the roof doesn’t look inviting, the person close to the roof has to climb over the other iin order to get out.
The stairs to the second flloor are so steep that my dog refused to walk down and had to be carried.
The speech before dinner was a bit awkward and forced.

Location / view and lovely communal seating areas. Staff were friendly. Hotel has a n interesting history.
Very expensive, hotel needs an update and thorough clean. Bathroom quite tight. A bit loud at night when locals come for drinks.

This is a very special place. From an American perspective it’s more like a boutique B&B. the rooms are all unique. You can sauna just down from the hotel and plunge into the glacial water of the fjord. Our room was a family room on the road side, so a bit nosy with a tractor at work in the afternoon and a couple of morning trucks moving through for the start of a work day… fjord views probably quieter. Fjærland is so lovely and super peaceful.
The bathrooms are small and if you are on the third floor the staircase is super narrow so a big bag is not easy to bring to your room. We could have had another table in our room, we had a family room and for all of us there was just one small bedside table.

Beautiful setting with an interesting history and super friendly staff!
My friend and I got really bad food poisoning from the dinner here, so I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, but the staff were so kind and helpful when we were sick and let us check out a couple of hours late.

The 3 course dinner was amazing! The breakfast was phenomenal and itʻs special attention to providing our meal with products from the village. The view of the fjord topped off our perfect stay!

Great staff. Homely feeling. well-integrated with the thriving local community. Location at the fjord was great. Many options for hikes. Direct bus to the glacier museum and glacier. Food was better than any we had on our trip.

The bathroom--the bath/shower was a hazard.

location of the hotel is superb. on the fjord with amazing view
we did hot have hot water in the room and the heat did not work. it took some hours for them to fix it.
dinner was expensive and not so tasty. Salad had live warm in it and we were told that it because food is organic...
no TV anywhere and breakfast was very modest and in very small portions...

Patio has the best views of the fjord and also the glacier. really chill vibes. like staying in a lovely library/sitting room. vintage and antique furniture everywhere but well cared for and well maintained. the meals are sourced locally can they have beer, wine and cider. we kayaked and went to the glacier after our stay it was one our most relaxed days in Norway. recommend the glacier museum as well. so happy we stayed here.

Many times we are all looking for an “authentic experience”. Fjaerland Fjordstove hotel is a rare manifestation of an authentic home and staff called an hotel. It’s a real gem. Beautiful house located a few meters from the fjord, decorated with restored local furniture sets the ambiance and Inna and her staff fill it with stories that made our stay a perfect one. Don’t miss the talk just before dinner. It’s both amusing and enlightening.
Nothing. We were made aware while booking that it’s an old building without elevators so we were not surprised. However guests should pay attention to this fact.

Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel is a whole experience from the magnificent and picturesque location, to the quirkiness of the accommodation, to the storytelling in the lounge, dinner and staff. Would highly recommend 😊

Incredibly charming hotel in a gorgeous location. We had dinner at the hotel both nights that we stayed. The food was delicious, albeit quite pricey. But, this is Norway, and we didn't expect cheap eats.
You must request the cleaning service. It is not automatic. They do tell you this at check-in.
