Magnifique Riad

Tout , magnifique, super bien placer dans la médina , le déjeuner au top , la chambre grande et trop belle , la terrasse très sympa, le personnel , plein de resto autour , je recommande

Le personnel et la direction sont aux petits soins. Tout est mis en oeuvre pour nous satisfaire. La suite proposée pour 5 était super. La situation au coeur de la ville était au top. proche de tout ! Le petit déjeuner était parfait tout comme le repas pris sur place. Merci à l'équipe !

Really strongly recommend

Excellent Riad, you can expect an incredible welcome with tea and biscuits, water in the room very helpful staff. During our stay in Marrakech we were at one other Riad and this one was far better! Especially because it's so quiet during the night and how charming the entire decorations are.

Riad parfait pour un séjour de 4 nuits. Très très bien placé au cœur de la médina.

Excellent petit déjeuner avec des pâtisseries variées chaque matin. Personnel très attentif. Zakaria est un hôte à notre écoute .Très chaleureux. Très bon dîner aussi.

Là qualité des serviettes de toilettes. Certes très épaisses, mais elles n essuyaient pas du tout. Heureusement qu’il y avait un peignoir , bien apprécié.

Good Location Kindness of the staff Tranquillity (probably one of the main reasons why one chooses this type of establishment) Traditional ornamentation of the building Good overall value for money

Mattresses and bedding need updating Damp feeling towels Some paid services, which in good Riads are traditionally included free of charge, at least for long stays. Lack of plugs in the rooftop terrace area

Very charming, good location, quite. Great staff. If you compare other prices in the area, very good value for money. We tried a room in the upper floor and some days later one at the ground floor… Maybe slight preference for the latter.

Excellent! I would definitely come back when we will travel again to Marrakech

The team was very helpful, always smiling, kind and doing their best to answer our request. They gave us good tips for restaurants and real prices. The Riad is well mantained, well aired, and the terrace is quiet , a great place to relax after strolling around in the souks.

Absolutely amazing place in the heart of Medina. Welcome tea, birds singing while having breakfast on the Riad's roof - just perfect. Zakaria and Oussama (hopefully my spelling is correct) are very friendly and open hosts, looking after every detail. E.g. they adjusted breakfast time for us when we had an early event planned out of the city. The owner must be happy to have such competent stuff on board. Congratulations! We will be back soon 😊 Thank you for your hospitality.

The service, the willingness to oblige, the location, the simple tasty efficient breakfast made at the moment! Simply wonderful and for sure value for money!

Our family likes to travel to immerse ourselves in the local culture for the most authentic experience possible. We were not disappointed. Riad Dar Al Kounouz is very beautiful and provides all the inside to the traditional Medina livestyle. When you visit Marrakech for the first time, it only makes sense to stay in the heart of Medina, with a short stroll to the Souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square (experience on its own, for another story). It is close to everything. The Riad is located in narrow little streets only accessible by foot. There is a need for approx. 10min. walk to the nearest street where a taxi or activity provider can pick you up. Luggage handlers are available to assist at arrival and departure. The place is clean and tidy, well managed. Staff are very nice and extremally helpful. Breakfast is beautiful. There is a rooftop to relax at. We stayed in winter so it was great up there, not sure how it would be in a hot summer day. I guess someone else needs to write about that. It is like an Oasis hidden from the hectic Marrakech streets, where you can hide and enjoy peaceful moment. Ohh! and if you love cats, there is millions of them everywhere.

Really couldn't find anything negative, other than too many cats for my liking..., I am a dog person :)

The main host, Zachariah, is very pleasant and resourceful, as are the other workers. They were discrete, but ready to help at the mere hint of a need or a question.The riad is lovely, a haven of peace in a riotous and exciting city. We particularly liked the rooftop in the late afternoon after hours of exploration and discovery. The house is also centrally located. There are many restaurants, boutiques, hammams and other amenities in the neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast in a warm and quiet atmosphere.

Very good location and all meals were excellent. Great staff who were very helpful. Ideal for couples and family. Thr family room has two bedrooms interconnecting and a bathroom and was very spacious and can accommodate up to 6 people.

Perfect

Zakaria and his staff were absolutely fantastic. The riad is gorgeous and the breakfast was excellent: assorted breads, jams, coffee, madelines, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and a plain omelet. The riad is a quiet oasis in the wonderful chaos of the medina. Zakaria arranged for a porter and taxi to riad for arrival and to the airport on departure. Housekeeping even washed my clothes!

I appreciated the two things that I'll discuss below but other travelers might not like them. First, the riad is located on Derb Snane off of Rue Sidi el Yamani. The path to the riad requires several turns off of Rue Sidi el Yamani. The riad will send a porter to take you there, so getting there the first time is easy. Those with a poor sense of direction might struggle with this. For me, it was great since you can't hear any of the medina's clamor. Second, my bed was very firm. For me, it was great. My old bones demand a firm bed but that isn't for everyone. In the end, my visit could not have been more perfect.

It's such a great place, stayed here a few times over the years, I'll always come back when in Marrakech, It's just peaceful and beautiful and super helpful staff

There's nothing to say bad, I just hope they don't do any works to remove the fountain and trees, yes a pool seems like a nice idea, but it would remove the serenity of the place, I feel other users of the ground floor rooms wouldn't be at peace with pool users and also it might represent a hazard for children

Nice and calm place to stay in Marrakech

The house is a typical traditional Morrocan Riad probably founded by weathy merchanents. Nice original decoration on walls and the house is nicely kept from the owners. This riad is distanced from main streets and nearby a closed park therefore calm and brids are singing from morning to evening. ...No noises of cars or motorbikes.

The ground rooms tend to be a little humid. (but this might be because thy closed the top of the internal patio to protect against rain, as we went there in April). The Hammam was not operational.

Exceptional

Arrival was well organized and simple, the shuttle from and to the airport was on time and flexible. The riad is beautiful and peaceful, yet perfectly located at 5min walk from the main square. Breakfast was delicious and copious and staff is super friendly : it was a real pleasure coming back to their tea after a day of visiting. Dominique and Marie are kind hearted and fun people and their riad ended up becoming a significant part of our trip. Recommend 1000%.

Exceptional

The place was nice and the location was good but what really made my stay easy and comfortable was the staff. Zakaria went above and beyond to help me with everything from arrival and departure to organizing a Covid test and arranging breakfast earlier when I had to leave for the airport at 3:30am. He was always available for questions and to help in any way he could to make my stay seamless and enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone and personally return if I find myself in Marrakech again.

A good choice for us and I would have liked to stay longer than the one night. Hope to be back!

Attractive Riad tucked away in the old part of Marrakesh, tastefully decorated and furnished and with a pleasant terrace for relaxing. Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel arranged for a porter to meet our driver at the nearest drop off point and he was there to meet us and guide us to the front door. The pick up on departure also went like clockwork.

The downside of being tucked away in the Medina is that it is not the best location for travellers new to Morocco and Marrakech, especially if arriving in the dark.

Great place to stay in Marrakech

The staff were excellent, very helpful with everything. The place itself is quaint and clean and in a good location within the old city but out the way. The roof terrace and the breakfasts were the highlights.
