Superbe séjour dans cet établissement, une magnifique terrace où prendre le petit déjeuner, les hôtes sont hyper accueillants et disponibles et la localisation du Riad est parfaite (en plein cœur de la Medina)
8.0
The place is very central, great breakfast, great rooftop sitting area.
I really think this place is overrated, I mean is good but is advertised as a Riad, but it's not, it looks more like a bed and breakfast. Very little privacy and other rooms and the workers can clearly listen to all your business and vice versa. The alley to reach the place smells like cat pee and is dark, there was always dodgy people smoking and drinking and didn't feel safe. Also you can't move freely between toilet and bedroom as there is just a curtain to close the place. the set up of the rooms is weird.

Really loved the location, the outdoor spaces (the top level had an incredible view of plenty of seating area), the breakfast, and the service. My favorite part of the day way having breakfast served on the outdoor terrace.
The room we had was a bit on the cozy side, but we also had our own balcony area.

We stayed for 1 night. Property is really nice, an old house beautifully transformed by Simo and his brother. You can easily see how much work they put into it. The stayed was lovely. Bed is very comfortable. The best is the terrace with it’s view and the breakfast. These 2 combined makes the perfect combo. Simo was very helpful, giving us directions and advices of what to visit and where to eat. thank you and good luck!

The hospitality was exceptional, Simo was very helpful and kind, breakfast was delicious traditional Moroccan food, very happy about the experience.

Very friendly staff and owners!
More like a guest house than a riad. Limited privacy when out of bedroom area. Many areas petitioned by curtains. Cleanliness was lacking for my tastes. I got a suite which it wasn’t.

I really appreciated staying in a 500 year old house in the centre of a fascinating old town. Despite the age of the house, everything worked. Bed was comfortable. The owners run the business. They are charming and were very helpful. I enjoyed the Moroccan breakfast with fresh orange juice, pastry, egg, bread, good coffee. Lots of real shops, not just tourist stuff. I liked the very active fishing port. I had some very good meals which were not expensive. Fish was delicious. Much enjoyed a scrub and a massage in a hammam
The main beach is beautiful but I was surprised that the seawater was cold…comparable with Cornwall.

A home stay is a better way to describe this riad although we had a private room and bathroom. Very clean, furnished with African flare, great breakfast and a rooftop terrace.
Rooms cleaned daily, Simo our host was contactable via What's App for any queries. Location in a quiet area of the medina and walkable everywhere with a good choice of restaurants close by. Simo met us at the bus station which was a nice touch and provided us with a map which we found helpful until we had our bearings.
For senior travellers the stairs were a challenge but we managed.

I loved the breakfast and the friendliness and kindness of the host ! Simo was very helpful with all, he even helped me organizing an hammam appointment and a camel ride trip. Awesome!

Plenty of "private" space with good view from top terrace. Nice breakfast and good recommendation for dinner.
Some people with children may consider the room protected by simply a curtain a little less secure for their child than they would like. Need to be taken to property as would be impossible to find although okay when aware of location.

Amazing host - nothing was too much trouble. He organised quad biking for us (AMAZING) and also helped us find car rental companies (so easy - would recommend doing this). The breakfast is amazing. Would stay here again.
Nothing!

The proprietor, Simo, couldn’t be nicer, even doing a load of laundry for us for free. Our room was small but comfortable and had a private terrace. The breakfast was very good, and can be taken on the terrace if desired. The riad is located within the Medina, close to everything, although it’s not really beachfront as described on booking.com.
The bathroom and shower are very small, and may be a bit of a squeeze for larger adults.

The tiny Riad is in the heart of the medina. The owners are very nice and give good recommendations.

Said & Simo have a beautiful, peaceful riad in a quiet neighborhood inside the Medina. The house is comfortable and a lovely oasis from the busy streets of Essaouira. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options, and my room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. My stay was perfect, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, and I would happily stay here again!

Simo was super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Location central but down a few dark and unlit alleys.ok for the money.
Room a bit dark during the day and too ɓright during the night. Bathroom very small. There was a musty smell on and off.

A friendly staff in a riad where lifestyle is based on peace and relax. The room was clean and has a little space outside the door where you can chill out. Good breakfast and nice rooftop.
Hope we'll have a chance to come back.
Keep going Simo!

Simo the host was so helpful and welcoming, he couldn't do more to make you welcome. The room was very clean, the bedding and towels were changed daily. The Riad is small but right in the middle of the medina.
The location, although very central, is down a small alley. Once you're inside the Riad though, it's good and very quiet.

Great location, great roof terrace, great host. NY stay was short and day was windy and little bit chilly but I still loved every second of it. I can highly recommend this charming riad.

Superb! I spent 7 wonderful nights at Riad Bab (23 Feb-2 March), the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, courteous and professional. The Riad is located inside the Medina, minutes away from the seafront, in a surprisingly quiet street. My room was very large, with a lounge area which I used as office space (excellent WiFi by the way)
The view from the rooftop terrace at dawn and dusk is simply magical.
Superb location, superb staff, superb value for money.

The staff was excellent! Simo is the best! Communication was rapid and excellent from booking to departure! He came to meet us at the bus station and along the way to the Riad he pointed out good restaurants and other sites to see. I was sick and he went to buy something to help me feel better and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasted good. We even had our own living room space to chill! The beautiful artwork all over the riad is really beautiful. There is a rooftop space with sofas and the view is amazing! The location is great and there are many restaurants close by!
The only thing we found a bit difficult about this place were the stairs. There are many to climb and they are a bit steep for old folks like us.
2.0
1. Entrance to building via dark, dirty road. Impossible to find without a guide
2. Zero sound isolation in rooms. You can easily hear people talking on the top floor while you're on the ground one.
Bathroom is small and nasty with bad drainage.
3. Microwaved coffee for breakfast (((

Very stylish, boutique and well considered furnishings. breakfast was exceptional and the welcome very warm and genuine
Only thing I could fault was the pillows! need a firmer option for those of us with neck/back issues

Simon was very nice from the beginning and helpful with whatever we needed. The place is beautifully decorated and although small, very comfortable. Location is also great, walkable distance from historic places to visit
Nothing noteworthy

We were made to feel right at home, with a welcome from our bus, comfy room and excellent, generous breakfast on the roof terrace. Essaouria is a must-visit location in Morocco.
Nothing negative to say.

The owner was super friendly and helpful and the room was quite nice. It's located in the center of medina, so it's close to main tourist attractions. They have a terrace with nice view over the city. It was a very pleasant stay.
We got a private bedroom and a detached private bath with a semi private living room in between separated from the public space by a curtain. It wasn't fully comfortable for privacy reasons.

The rRiad is well located. Bars, restaurants and the hammam were within easy reach. Simo and his colleague did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you again for this beautiful experience.

We loved the views, the breakfast, the central location, and most of all the care we received while in Essaouira. Everything we asked for was immediately done for us, and any arrangements made for us…they were SO helpful.

Fantastic location! Simo and Kalima were tremendous hosts. The breakfast was sumptuous. Simo was waiting at our bus when we arrived and showed us the way to the Riad. He went above and beyond the call of duty and even arranged our onward travel.
The “king suite” is misnamed. It is not actually a suite but a private bedroom and a detached private bath with a semi private living room in between separated from the public space by a curtain. For us, the curtained space did not provide sufficient privacy to use as a sleeping space.
10.0
Unique riad and a great host! Simo was in contact with us from the start and welcomed us with tea at the roof terrace with a view to the ocean waves. The riad is decorated with Simos own art which makes it an unique experience. We loved our stay and would come back again. Simos tips for places to go and eat or drink were also perfect - make sure to ask him.

this spot is super cool with all the African art and vibes. The rooftop is awesome to get a feel for the area and overlook the Medina. I recommend this place!

Superb. Simo is an incredible host. He is very thoughtful, discret and helpful.
The house is so well located in this beautiful town.
Breakfast was great .. everything was extremely plaisant.
We 100% recommend this place to stay in Essaouira!

Simo was very kind and the place is beautiful, especially the tiny rooftop terrace

The staff, especially the manager, who was excellent and went out of his way to look after us. He also made breakfast for us each morning, which were delicious.
The rooms were dark and they lacked privacy in the seating area because it was only separated from the communal stairs by a curtain. The bathrooms were small but very clean. The hotel has lots of steep stairs, and is situated down a very dark lane.

location .. the host is very friendly…
1.0
Location, breakfast.
This was the most expensive and the least comfortable stay in a 15 days trip in Marocco. I would not recommend it.
At our arrival, we almost didn’t manage to get in the property at night if it wasn’t for a couple of guests that we randomly met in the street of essasouira. I later found the host sleeping on the couch, after having tried numerous WhatsApp calls. The arrival hour had been arranged at booking time. Very unprofessional.
Secondly, this property is not a riad as claimed.
I also don’t understand how it’s possible that this property is so highly rated.
The bathroom was inconveniently small, even to be in a standing position in front of the toilet. The shower door didn’t slide properly. Also some essential amenities were missing (e.g. hairdryer)
The room was very humid at night and was uncomfortably cold during the night. The absence of an A/C system made things worse.
I suggest the host to be more honest and transparent with the photos and description of the place. I would have avoided booking this property entirely.
The positive aspect was the breakfast and the helpfulness of the host the next day in suggesting activities.
I think this is still a decent accommodation but at a lower price tag. I don’t think the cost justifies the value.
