An enjoyable time spent at a warm and welcoming guesthouse!

I stayed at the Guesthouse with my sister and mother for 4 days. Cláudia and Luís welcomed us with open arms. They were very warm, friendly and welcoming and gave us a lot of recommendations for places to visit. It felt as if we were staying at a family member's place. Each morning, Cláudia served us a full breakfast with local food (bread, meat, milk, coffee, fruit, and cake), which allowed us to skip lunch. Everything was also extremely clean. One day we didn't have warm water, but Cláudia quickly took charge of it. In any case, I would definitely come back again.

We stayed in the room that has a private bathroom on the ground floor. The only negative aspect that we can say about our stay is that the bedroom and the bathroom are slightly damp. While the dampness quickly dispersed with the AC, we couldn't change much in the bathroom. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse.

Exceptional

The house is located 1km far from the city center so it is possible to walk back and forth without using the car. However, it can be difficult to find a parking lot in the evening since the house is located in a residential neighborhood. Breakfast is also super (try the tomatoes marmalade!!) as well as how the host welcomed us.

A lovely stay in Olhão with excellent service

A fantastic stay in Olhão. Cláudia and the team made us feel very welcome and she gave us some incredible recommendations for local restaurants and traditional dishes. The breakfast was excellent and included local produce and home-made jams. We had an early departure, and Cláudia made us a packed breakfast and arranged a taxi to the airport. Thanks so much and we'll be happy to stay here again!

My only suggestion would be a slightly earlier breakfast would be preferable. I understand that the breakfast is freshly made and we really appreciated the service, but even 8:30am could make a big difference

Wonderful and enjoyable stay.

Hosts were wonderful and welcoming. Great help in guiding for attractions and places to visit. Breakfast was very good. Keeps you for the whole day. Peaceful location. A short 15 min walk down to center town. Recommend.

Great stay! Olhao is great, along Claudia's tips we had a nice stay & experience.

Claudia and her husband are the most proactive hosts that I've ever met. Claudia took care of giving us all the tricks & trips related to Olhao, local places to eat & visit. During our stay, she made her best to make us feel comfortable. Even though that check in was after 16:00, she could arrange for us bringing our luggage earlier (11:30), so we could enjoy the day in Olhao. She even put our stuff in the rooms. When we left, we couldn't stay for the breakfast, so again she did the extra mile and prepared us a lovely breakfast to take on the road with juice and cake. Overall, we felt like Claudia was having the attention to us like a loving mother!

We didn't knew what "External private bathroom" really means. But it's exactly what it sais... a bathroom next door to your room, but it was quite funny sometimes to get out of the bathroom and meet other guests. Maybe the bed&mattress can receive an upgrade in the close future.

Quaint little place with very friendly hosts, perfect for a few days in Olhao.

Cláudia & Luís, the hosts, were very friendly and welcoming. Luís gave comprehensive information and advice about Olhao - we found this really useful because we were only there for three days, so had to make the most out of the short time we had. The breakfast was also amazing: very considered in terms of the actual food items and the order they are served in (local breads, homemade jams, local hams and cheeses, variety of fruits, and a luxury cake each day) but also because it is kindly served to table by Cláudia & Luís. Location is nice as it’s away from the front and generally quiet.

Perfect and wonderful stay.

Very good location, closes to the train station and the seaside. The house is very quite and clean. The breakfast is wonderful. The hosts are very kind and helpful, especially Claudia gave us very helpful suggestions on how to spend time in Olhao. Our nervous spirit got a real relax in Claudia’s house. Will definitely recommend to friends and will come back again.

Great place to stay for a few days and enjoy the area!

We liked everything there: Cláudia and Luis were great hosts (giving us very useful advice on where to go), the breakfast was incredible, the patio in the house was extremely pleasant and refreshing and our room was clean and confortable!

Good, clean and central accommodation with great breakfast provided.

Clean, comfortable Guest House accommodation in a city location. Excellent breakfast served each morning by friendly and pleasant hosts. Air conditioning in room much appreciated.

There could have been more storage in the room for our length of stay. Shower rather slow to drain and difficult to maintain temperature...but these are small points. Be aware that you can't walk from here to a swimming beach.

We had a wonderful time!

We had a great experience at the Roaz de Bandeira Guesthouse. Our hosts, Claudia and Luis were very kind and helpful and made us feel comfortable throughout our whole stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The location of the Guesthouse was highly convenient and close to our points of interest. We will always remember this vacation and hope to be back in the future.

Our room was very pretty and clean. Even if it is true that we had some extra luggage, a bigger room would have been covenient.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

The welcoming and attentive hosts made us feel at home. They provided useful advise about the area, restaurants and possible activities. They provided free use of beach towels and umbrellas, and they prepared a delicious breakfast every morning, as well as a bagged breakfast for our early morning departure.

Excellent stay

Very clean and well-organized. Easy walking from the old center, the docks and the great mercados. Friendly, generous and kind hosts, with a lot of valuable information about the area, good advice about the special places to visit, where to have a nice tasty dinner. Nice breakfast. And as we had to leave very early on our last day, they kindly prepared a nice takeaway breakfast for us. Free parking was very easy, right in front, on our first day. On another day, we had to look a little further away for a parking place, but that was not a big problem.

I highly recommend this place!

Claudia and Luis are doing their work with their heart and it is visible on their approach which is above average. They will provide you with many recommendations regarding exploring the area that is really helpful. I highly recommend to stay at their place to everyone - The breakfasts are amazing, with local products, juice made from fresh oranges, everything great. :-)

Only negative thing was that my room was situated to the street with a little noise at night, but not influenced my great experience there.

Very good

The hosts are very friendly and helpful with anything you need, wether it’s tips about the city or arranging taxi etc. We had to leave early our last day before breakfast and a packed breakfast was ready for us to take with us. Very clean accomodation, breakfast was well cared for.

Lovely guest house with great service

The rooms are lovely- really nicely decorated and super clean. Luis and Claudia are great hosts who look after their guests and take the time to explain the local area and recommend places to visit. The breakfast in the beautiful courtyard garden is really lovely. One day we went on an early trip and they made us a packed lunch to take with us.

Can’t fault this- really good value for money and a great place to stay.

Amazing hosts

Luis and Claudia are amazing hosts that take pride in their establishment and are always ready to help with anything you need. Their guesthouse is extremely clean and is in an amazing location linking you to cozy restaurants and cafés near by.

Great place to stay! Heartwarming experience. Super breakfast and nice rooms. Top 10.

Claudia and Luis are absolute super hosts. This place is run with a lot of love and care. No problem if you have special requests, they will do everything in order to help and fulfil your needs. The breakfast is very, very good (how can you beat freshly pressed orange juice from the Algarve and some self made cakes that accompany every breakfast?) and everything was served by them at the table, so no need to jump up every 5 minutes in order to go to the buffet... This makes it so much more relaxing. The little guest house has facilities for cooking, space in the fridge if you want to store sth and a nice and calm courtyard with lemon and orange trees and comfy sofas to relax. The walk into the historical city center takes around ten minutes, no need to use a car at all. Free parking facilities are in front of the house. Thank you Claudia and Luis for the outstanding hospitality and the nice chats we had. Will recommend your place to everyone who wants to visit Olhão and the beautiful surroundings.

Perfect stay

We were welcomed very warmly by Luís and Cláudia. They gave us tips about the area and were very helpful. They even made us a breakfast package 'to go' when we had to leave early in the morning. The room had everything we needed and was within walking distance of the center and restaurants of Olhao. Moreover, a nice breakfast in the quiet patio!

Close to the city center

Small and simple but very clean room, the hosts very kind. A little bit difficult to find a place to park but finally we dit it. Good breakfast with fresh products. I recommend.

Too many rules and interdictions

- Breakfast is good value for money - Nice outdoor area (but you can't walk bare feet) - Room and bathroom are cleaned

- The bathroom's transparent door makes you share everything with your loved one - Very thin walls that makes you hear everything happening around - Kitchen is not available until 11am which kind of push you to pay for their breakfast - You don't feel at ease with the many rules and signs you need to follow. We felt watched the entire duration of our stay to make sure we were complying with everything - They take your credit card's number on a piece of paper which is not a safe practice at all
