Exceptional

I had a lovely stay, the room was really clean and the food was delicious. Above all the hosts were so kind, i got to do some birdwatching and some animal watching at night. I 100% recommend this guesthouse!

everything was perfect. Very quiet, clean and we can rent a bicycle to go to see the temples. Perfect!

The wifi was broken at the moment but we just need to walk not far away to get the 4g. it was under repair (wifi)

Do not hesitate

The host is really welcoming. Everything is high quality (meals, room, wifi..) Just at the hide exit of the sacred city to come back easily. He rents bikes too! He can drop you at the bus station if you ask. I recommend a lot.

One of the highlights of our whole trip! Opali and his family are pretty much the nicest, most welcoming people we ever met. Food was amazing and the room very spacious. We had great talks and Opali told us a lot about his life and Sri Lankas situation. He even did a night walk with us where we saw lots of animals. Also, the place is perfectly located if you want to visit the ancient city, you can even rent bikes directly at the house. In Polonnaruwa I would go there again any time. Highly recommended!!

This place is made with love, this is a real home outside of your own home, where you are a valued guest. when you meet the host, you’d definitely like to stay more. The room is the same as on the photos, Wi-Fi connection was good. The wild life around the property is great - we have seen deers, fireflies, monkeys, lizards, birds and their nest. In the evening we enjoyed the talks about everything with our host as he is a great companion. the special thanks to home made breakfast and dinner!!! During the dinner the first time I found the difference between spicy (when it is about taste of different spices) and enjoyed it vs spicy that I tried before and it was only about a fire in your mouth). I would really wish this place to flourish and attract new guests. Whenever I need a time for myself in nature I will definitely come back here again!

very nice place for 2-3 nights

We had a delicious vegetable curry for dinner. We got some bicycles for free. The place ist very quiet and nice. The owner is very kind.

HOT SHOWERS! this place was great for so many reasons - hot showers, super kind host, surrounded by nature (host took us on a night walk around the property to see animals), great wifi, delicious food, cold beer, clean room, bicycle hire, great value for money, located at the exit point of the ruins so it’s really convenient after a long day of wandering around the ruins to just pop out at the end and be at the accommodation.

I had such an amazing time here, the owner is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, he is very friendly and easy to get a long with and will sort any travel, food or general needs you have. There is an option to go on a night walk where he shows you local wildlife which is well worth your time! This was one of my favourite places in Sri Lanka (food was as excellent too!)

An amazing place to enjoy and make the most of Polonnaruwa

Everything was great, but most of all, you couldn’t imagine a kinder host than Upali ! He goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good stay : pick-up at the bus station; clear explanations on how to get around the ruins, a walk through the rice fields and looking around for animals after dark (we saw about 10 deer!) also the dinner and breakfast were great.

Beautiful, quiet location with pond next to the house. Many deer and birds. Big terrace. Rooms are clean and spacious. Delicious food. Excellent bicycles with which we made several tours in the beautiful surroundings. The place is next to the ancient city. The owner Upali is very helpful and dropped us at the bus station. We had many interesting talks with him. Great place to stay for a few days.

The host is very helpfull. He is really there for you. You can rent a bike and eat diner at the place. I highly recommend you to eat there. It is the best. The breakfast is great. In the evening he walks with his guest to spot wild animals!

Amazing place ! Right to the temple exit ! Amazing diner and breakfast ! We also enjoyed the owner who is very welcoming ! Bike hire and wild animal night walk ... awesome ! Great value , authentic Sri Lanka !!!!!
