The house and grounds are splendid. It is a beautiful, peaceful place, with a fascinating history. We were made very welcome, and breakfasts were prepared just to our liking. Our room was extremely comfortable, and we also loved the sitting room for guests. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
Everything was perfect.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. Being able to stay there was a real experience in and of itself. It was very authentic and felt like time traveling.
The location is not super close many attractions/restaurants. If you are planning to explore the countryside it is still a good location.

Misrepresented on booking.com.
House and grounds in disrepair.
Old musty smell throughout, entry dirty with cobwebs, dogs 3 in house and not identified on booking- my daughter has allergies and immediately became affected with facial swelling; exposed wires; toilets not working. Guest areas dusty…
Left and booked other place to stay
In disrepair, not safe, in partial building repairs, allergy with pets.

Absolutely magical stay in Ash Hill. The property is a historic house, that has been renovated inside for all the comfort one needs. We had an amazing stay, with a huge bedroom and a bathroom. Mountain view was a bonus surrounded by a beautiful garden. Host was amazing and went out of their way to look after us. Loved our morning and evening walks throughout the stay admiring nature and the peace and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Beautifully decorated, spacious bedroom and bath in a lovely, historic, countryside manor house located only 50 minutes drive from Shannon Airport. The prearranged dinner was bountiful and absolutely delicious, and visiting with our delightful hosts and their son made the evening even more special. Breakfast the next morning included honey from their own beehives, a selection of breads including freshly baked croissants, yogurt and fruit, and a full-Irish breakfast if desired. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and highly recommend Ash Hill B&B.
Nothing.

This property drops you into an enchanting experience of timeless elegance.
Every amenity was provided against a backdrop of another era. The exceptional attention to detail in the mansion was enhanced by the beautiful gardens and surrounding lands.

The home was spectacular! So much history.
We loved that the owner Nicky was more than happy to chat and share the history of the home with us.
Our room was perfect, comfortable with a view over the fields. Breakfast was cooked fresh and was plentiful.
A treat to stay in such a beautiful home!

Great breakfast and great location and Simon was an excellent host.

Very charming estate with a lot of character. Absolutely great hosts. Wonderful views for taking walks. Garden and fields. They are doing a little bit of renovations but there isn't any disruption to the guests. The rooms are huge and the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner at Deerburt hotel that was recommended by the owners. Excellent food for breakfast. Hot coffee or tea, fresh fruit, toast and a variety of pastries. The owner cooks breakfast to order.

The history. Could only imagine what it was like to live in its prime
It needed work but tha was expected. Very happy with the stay

This place is a jewel of a guest house. We were made to feel like part of the family and treated in a first class manner worthy of the finest hotels. Simon and Nicky were great from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was better than any other place we stayed at during our tour.
The four poster bed was worthy of a palace, and the bedroom bigger than the ground floor of some houses!
We had to leave, we wanted to stay! It was so good and so friendly we can’t think of any negatives.

Friendly host who provided lots of information about the location and it's history.
Would have liked a lock on the room door.

Best ever place to stay Nothing

The house is magnificent, rich in history with large spacious rooms and original features and we were warmly welcomed by Nicky. Our room was enormous with a huge comfortable four poster bed and we had the downstairs drawing room to ourselves, complete with complimentary bottle of wine.
We stayed during a period of dreadful weather and can appreciate how difficult it is to keep these houses warm, but we were very cold. There was no heat in the bathroom and just a tiny plug-in radiator in our vast bedroom. The hot water was also very limited.

Nothing!
Every aspect of Ash Hill fires the imagination...it's so easy to get lost in the remarkable history of this splendid venue. And Nikki and family have done so much to evoke the romance of Ash Hill's singular swashbuckling past....so, dream on in your four poster canopy bed!

Big room, very comfy bed, quiet and lovely countryside view with a nice 8k circular walk.
Turn right outside the gate. Take the next right down Green Road and keep turning right and you arrive back into the village to walk around the ancient walls.
Overall a very nice stay in a house with a real history and the owner will provide a fascinating potted history tour of the property.
The WIFI didn’t really work, there’s no TV which is a personal choice and the plumbing is a bit antiquated.

This place is steeped in history and it’s so full of character! We had the Gothic room and I loved all the details - the beautiful wooden bed and gorgeous detailing on the ceiling and the claw footed bath. We will definitely return. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived.
