Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Eigentümer, die Deutsch, Spanisch und Englisch sprechen. Unser Zimmer war vor einer großen Dachterrasse gelegen, die Möglichkeiten bietet, Wäsche aufzuhängen, sich in einer Hängematte zu entspannen oder die Fernsicht auf das Meer und das Städtchen zu genießen. Dort wird auch das frisch zubereitete und abwechslungsreiche, ausgezeichnete Frühstück serviert, auf Wunsch auch sehr früh. Die Unterkunft ist ruhig gelegen (natürlich hört man gelegentlich die unvermeidlichen Äußerungen der Seelöwen), aber man ist zu Fuß am Meer entlang sehr schnell in der City. Die liebenswerten Eigentümer haben vor unserer Ankunft Kontakt mit uns aufgenommen und uns später hervorragend bei unsrer Unternehmungen beraten. Für einen mehrtägigen Aufenthalt auf San Cristóbal sehr zu empfehlen.

Responsiveness of staff; easy to find and walk to ferry; spacious; clean and loved the shared fridge and kettle just outside our room. Was nice to grab a beer / cold drink at store nearby and then chill in evening at top floor patio in hammock. They also had a big map of town and beaches available to reference in the common area. Was also walking distance to airport the day we flew out. Took 15 minutes but would have taken 5-8 minutes but the gravel road made it difficult to drag roller suitcase so we had to take the “long way around”.
Could have used a couple of extra towels. Face cloth not available - but I don’t think those are a thing in Ecuador.

Very good location being close to the airport and the pier. The host is very helpful and welcoming. They accommodated us with very early breakfasts for our tours and our flight schedule. Breakfasts were delicious with fresh fruit.

We loved our stay at Hostal Cattleya. We had a room on the upper floor and there is a terrace in front of the room with hammocks and sofas and a beautiful view. The breakfast is also on this terrace and it is prepared by Ivan at the time you want. We loved that, because on 2 days we had to leave before 7 am to dive and breakfast was ready for us before 6:30. It is a simple but very tasty breakfast with fruit, eggs or omelet, fresh warm bread, jam, fresh juice. You can also use the fridge on the terrace to store drinks or other things you want. There is water for the guests to refill the water bottles and you can also make a tea anytime. Ivan even leaves a binoculars there, so you can spot the sea lions at the beach. He was a fisher and has so many stories to tell about San Cristobal. It is so nice to talk to him, it is like talking to someone from your family. His wife Trudy belongs to a pioneer family from Floreana island, so interesting, we found informations about her family at the museum at Charles Darwin station. The hostal is very close to the airport, 5-minute walking distance and is also very close to everything. In 3 minutes you are at the first beach and can see the first sea lions and blue-footed boobies. Our room was big, bed was comfortable and shower worked very good. Check in and check out was super smooth, we got our room as soon as we arrived. They also provide beach towels if you want. We loved San Cristobal, I think it was our favorite island, and we loved our stay at Hostal Cattleya. Thanks for everything, Ivan!

The hotel is near the army base, so we were able to do a lot of things by foot (from the boat, the city centre, even playa Loberia (30 minutes), and the airport (10-15 minutes), etc.

階段が急で荷物を下ろす時に苦労した。マレコンから離れているので本来はとてものどかで静かな環境のはずだが、運悪く何かのイベントなのか、大音量の音楽が夜9時回っても終わらなかった。

Nice location. It’s in a quiet corner of town but still close to everything. The rooftop hammocks and the ocean view are amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The clotheslines are very helpful for drying beach wear and wetsuits.
The water pressure is low at night. I showered late the first night and there was not hot water or much of a stream. When I showered closer to sunset, the pressure and heat were fine. I also think that flushing the toilet causes a drop in water pressure so I started making that the last thing I did when using the bathroom.

Hostel Cattleya was a wonderful place! Ivan and Trudy were amazing hosts! I reserved a 3-person room (one queen bed and a single) with a private bathroom for a great price. It was clean and tidied up daily. Breakfast was great each morning on the terrace. Ivan went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed, teach me a few more Spanish words, and help me organize some activities. I would definitely stay there again!
It was a bit noisy in the mornings sometimes because of the roosters and dogs. The windows were quite high and I couldn’t close them. This also did not allow a lot of natural light into the room

This hostal has beautiful views over the island, and the owners are so friendly and helpful. They booked a taxi for us to go and see the tortoises, which was incredible. The breakfast is delicious! The rooms and comfortable and have everything you need. I'd recommend a stay here!

Trudy and Ivan were very friendly and helpful. They made sure our stay was comfortable. Trudy made recommendations for what to see while we were on the island. The room was quite lovely, clean and comfortable and there were hammocks on the top outdoor level with an amazing view overlooking the bay/city pier area. They even made sure we had breakfast early enough on the day we had a tour starting at 7am. The location was also super convenient!
There was one water option in the shower - on or off. But even that was fine because we just needed to shower and we did. The water never went from scalding hot to ice cold, it was just on or off and the temperature was medium. It worked.

The BEST hostel. Air conditioning, hot showers, big rooms with storage space, comfy beds, clean with daily housekeeping, filtered drinking water, free breakfast every morning on a beautiful terrace, walkable to the main part of town but far enough removed for quiet, laundry available, quick communication.
But best of all, the hostel hosts Trudy and Ivan were the most wonderful people and completely made our stay. Ivan has lived his whole life on San Cristobal and worked as a fisherman, and Trudy is descended from the first descendants of Floreana Island (also in the Galapagos). They are so kind and friendly, helped us with information and recommendations, and we so appreciated getting to learn about them and their story. If you stay at Hostal Cattleya, you support a true local family. We love you Trudy and Ivan!

Conveniently located property on the edge of town but walking distance to all attractions. The property was clean and well maintained. The terrace is the best spot to relax after a day out and about. Breakfast was exceptional.
only minor comment is that the electric hot water didn’t work too well, which is minor considering how hot it is outside.

The owners were so sweet and accommodating, and they helped us book day trips when needed. Breakfast was delicious each morning. We loved lounging in the hammocks on the rooftop. Shower worked great, despite not being temperature controlled it was refreshing. A/C was in the room which was definitely necessary. We had a family style room so the common area had a fridge and microwave to store leftover food. Great value for the price. Very close walk to the airport which was convenient.
Bathroom smelled funky, wifi was not very reliable, and there’s a rooster who woke us up early morning. Maybe next time would stay somewhere slightly closer to center of town instead of closer to the airport, although everything is still walking distance.

Hostal Cattleya is in a great location on the quiet side of town, not too far from the waterfront restaurants. we loved the terrace space, having a kitchen to use, and the hosts are wonderful.
