Amazing stay

Simply everything was perfect. We stayed in the suite with the private balcony and the room is much nicer in real life!! The room is clean, spacious and the bed is super comfy! The pool is bigger than on the pictures. The location is amazing, close to the beach, only 1-2 minute walk and also close to main street where are all the bars and cafes. Yet it is very quiet and relaxing. Thank you so much to the host!

Eine Oase und das beste Hotel in La Punta 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Die Unterkunft liegt in der besten Lage von La Punta. Eine Minute zum Strand, eine Minute zu allen Restaurants und Bars. Nachts hört man die Wellen rauschen. Trotz der zentralen Lage ist es eine kleine ruhige Oase. Jeden Tag wird gründlich gereinigt und schon vor dem Tor riecht es gut. Die Bettwäsche wird alle 2 Tage gewechselt und riecht himmlisch. Die komplette Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und aufgeräumt. Das WLAN ist super. Die Unterkunft hat ihren Charme durch die Gastgeberin, sie ist jederzeit ansprechbar und hilft wo sie nur kann. Es ist eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre.

Es gibt nichts negatives.

Perfect and relaxing

Stayed at the 1st level room with a terrace, which looks much newer and better in person than in the pictures. The room have a very good size, air conditioning works perfectly and is neat clean. The pool of this hotel is simply delicious. It does get some sunlight, but thanks to the plants and trees around it gets it just enough so the water is fresh. You can stay on the pool the whole day without being concerned with the sun - there is no too much of direct sunlight to make it to hot, but not as little to make it cold either. It is just perfect. The staff is super friendly and supportive and the location is as good as you can get at the punta. It is close enough to the beach and restaurants that you can go on and off several times a day, but not close enough that any noise would be a disturbance. I was working remotely from the hotel and it all played out just perfect for my stay - comfortable, well located, good wifi connection, enough places to sit and work and close to co-working spaces (if needed, which in my case it was not).

There is a construction right next to the hotel. Did not disturb me at all, but for people more sensitive to noise it could be a problem. They do not work too early in the morning and neither too late in the afternoon, so no problem at all to sleep.

This little hotel is an absolute gem, a hidden oasis. It was exactly what I was looking for, a quiet, clean, and really beautiful place to relax. It is very close to the beach, maybe 3 mins walking distance, so you hear the waves at night. But it is also wonderful to just hang out at the pool, which is surrounded by palm trees. Very comfortable lounge beds. I also really liked that they allow only guests that stay with them. So no bringing friends to the pool, which kept everything quiet. I had to work occasionally while traveling, and this was a great place for it too. The internet is good, there are two different Wi-Fi's in case one goes down (which it never did). There is a full kitchen if one wants to cook by themselves, but it's also just a step away from all the restaurants in Punta. The rooms are cleaned every day, and the beds are really comfortable. Air conditioning is also really good, and quiet. The personnel were lovely. I really have nothing but praise for this little place. I will definitely come back.

As everywhere in Punta, there was construction going on next door. This is obviously not the fault of the hotel, but it was still very loud.

We had the best stay! Everything we were looking for.

Location is perfect, next to everything but in a quiet street. We specifically loved our room which was the one all the way at the top where we had the full floor to ourselves- the private terrace was much better than in the pictures with hammocks and couches to lounge in. The room was comfortable, no A/C but big fans were provided. The pool area is very nice, the lounge beds very comfortable, with enough shades from the umbrella. The place has lush vegetation that makes it look like a little jungle. The staff was super nice and welcoming.

best hotel in puerto Escondido and worth the money. we are definitely coming back. the location couldn’t be better. 1 min from la Punta (the beach). various restaurants around. lovely pool area. You could feel that it is a family owned business. the staff was super friendly and the property has everything you need. surfboard rent etc. highly recommend!

Peaceful spot, close enough but not too close to the beach & restaurants

We stayed in the top floor room with the terrace and really enjoyed the space and daily breeze. The fans helped with the heat. The shared outdoor kitchen had all the cooking tools one needs and a fridge. The staff was really kind, helpful, and friendly. We loved the bonus of the two cats lounging around - Som and Capitan. The location was just right being a couple blocks from the main street and beach.

The location was amazing, right next to the beach in La punta but was still really quiet. The hotel itself was really quiet as well. Staff are really lovely. Room was spacious and the bathroom was nice.

The curtains had a huge stain on them, looked like make-up so could probably have been washed off. I think it was a bit over priced as it's lovely but it's definitely not a boutique hotel.

I was absolutely in love with Hotel Gallo del Mar. It was such a serene and relaxing stay, tucked away but right next to the main road of Punta Zicatela. The two ladies at reception were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone staying in Puerto Escondido!

The hotel is very nice and clean. The location is perfect, just around the corner from the main street with all the bars and restaurants, and from the beach. Bruno the owner was very nice and ready to help, he gave us plenty of recommendations. The atmosphere is very nice and chill. Would definitely book again when back in Puerto.

the reception staff was outstanding! the room was nice and airy. the facilities were great such as pool, shower and dressing room once you had checked in and cute common kitchen.

far too much light in the room - add blackout curtains! too much noise at night- someone should be there to tell people to calm down and not wake neighbors.

A little oasis right next door to the buzz of La Punta. Really clean and comfy rooms, great pool and shared kitchen, and most of all really nice and accommodating staff. Especially the owner Bruno was so welcoming and helpful. Especially if you travel with a baby/small child this place is perfect. Absolutely recommend!

Beautiful hotel in a very cool location! Definitely recommend!

We loved our stay at Gallo Del Mar! The hotel is a mini tropical paradise. Bruno was such a lovely host, really cool guy and super helpful. The location was perfect, so close to all the main bars and restaurants as well as the beach in Zicatela. Such a cool vibe to the area, really cool bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are super comfortable, they have fans and air con, all super clean, comfortable and beautiful decor, nice soaps and gels. The pool area was amazing, beautiful greenery, nice size pool and comfortable sun loungers.

Jungle Oasis in La Punta!
