The privilege of staying with this hospitable family while visiting Khiva comes highly recommended!

Jaloladdin and his family has been running this handsome Khiva B&B for over 20 years since his parents started it with only 2 rooms. It now offers 7 highly sought-after rooms, located right within Itchan Kala, the old citadelled city. Because of his father's profession as a fresco painter, the family's B&B has been lovingly decorated like a traditional jeweled palace. Our room had amazingly beautiful painted ceilings on both the bedroom and the balcony that overlooked the Itchan Kala walls. We enquired beforehand and Jaloladdin arranged a wonderful sunset dinner on their rooftop that offered panoramic views of Khiva rivalling that of nearby Terrassa restaurant, but the rooftop was exclusively and romantically our's that night! The local Khivan dishes served were sublime (Khivan plov and pumpkin manti). Jaloladdin's recommendations of a local Khivan restaurant for lunch and the transfer to Nukus were also perfect.

Our stay of only one night was too short!

J'ai tout aimé, la maison et les chambres sont magnifiques, le personnel est entièrement à votre disposition, le petit déjeuner est excellent. La décoration a été choisie avec soin. J'ai adoré mon séjour dans cette maison d'hôte.

Отличное местоположение, отзывчивая семья, чудесный балкон и отличная терасса на крыше, на которой можно встретить закат и попить чай. Самый красивый номер в Узбекистане, в котором мы жили. В целом отличный хоумстэй.

Excellent value and great location with friendly hosts in Khiva.

Very comfortable room; exceptionally friendly and helpful staff; very good breakfast; perfect location.,

Wifi was a bit spotty at times, though that was the incoming provider line not the hotel's WiFi.

definitely stay here

The best location and lovely knowledgeable hosts who will do everything they can to help you. we lost our bags and they drove us late at night to get them. lovely breakfast. beautifully decorated rooms. comfortable house like you’re at home

Ttes bonne étape

Idéalement situé au calme. Petit bnb familiale bien tenue. La chambre est grande avec terrasse côté soleil mais il y a la climatisation. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Le patron est très arrangeant.

Mi dispiace molto che questa struttura non debba avere tutti 10, ma ho richiesto un transfer da khiva a bukhara e loro puntualmente me lo hanno fornito… MA NON ERA UN VERO TRANSFER… la persona che ci è venuta a prendere, non ha proferito una parola, durante il tragitto si è fermato più volte a compravendere pezzi di ricambio, guidava in modo spericolato e ad alta velocità, abbiamo chiesto di fare una sosta per il pranzo e si è fermato molto dopo approfittando di un distributore dove ha rifornito l’auto. Inoltre l’auto era datata, aveva i sedili distrutti e scomodi, senza sospensioni adeguate (il viaggio è durato quasi 7ore), ma la cosa peggiore è stato l’odore del gas nell’abitacolo che abbiamo respirato per l’intero tragitto. Quindi se volete soggiornare nell’hotel andate ad occhi chiusi, se avete bisogno di un transfer, parlate chiaramente col proprietario una volta che ve lo prenota.

Excellent value and great to stay in a family home, outdated amenities and limited access to terrace.

The hosts family has been living in this home for 30 years, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and to accommodate us. They helped us organize tours of the area, rides to the airport, early breakfasts and late night tea. We felt very taken care of and grateful to be part of their home.

The property itself is a bit outdated. Specifically the bathrooms are pretty old- still totally functional, and very clean- but didn’t match the quality of the rest of the hotel. We were also bummed that the terrance is not in use- they are no longer servicing meals there, and there is no shade- so it’s difficult to spend time up there. It would be nice if they added more seating and a bit of cover to compete with the other B&Bs in town.

Good value place

The place is simple, in a very good location in Khivas old town. Excellent breakfast and a helpful staff even though we arrived like many others very early in the morning with the night train from Bukhara. Our Room was ok, the whole place is definitely a guest house and not a hotel.

In Uzbekistan the beds are in general pretty hard everywhere but here they were literally wooden boards with a thin layer on top. There was not really anything going on at the roof terrace, it was also not offered to us.

Wonderful B&B in a great location

We were fortunate to get a room with a lovely balcony. Beautiful hand-painted ceilings! The B&B is in a quiet location near the north gate - easy to get to all the attractions in the old city, but also convenient for shops and restaurants outside. Delicious breakfast! Highly recommended!!

Nice B&B in a very good location

The house is very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was good and varied. The position was very convenient and walking distance from everything. Khiva is very small, so you walk everywhere. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The matresses were very hard for us. The bathroom was very hot.

Superb

Great location and beautiful ceilings!! We were very grateful that they let us check-out late because we had an evening flight, and organised a taxi to the airport for us ❤️

Couple of minor annoyances like no hooks to hang your towel in the bathroom, poor aircon, terrible WiFi, no way to lock the door to the "private bathroom" when you were out (ie only locks from the inside), no shelf to put anything in the shower, etc. So just missing that attention to detail that the best hostels and guesthouses have! It was also much more expensive than comparable options in Bukhara and Samarkand ($45/night for 2 people instead of $30/night). However I think Khiva is a more expensive market!

Wonderful Guest House

Beautiful family run Guest House perfectly located in the heart of Khiva. Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. When we lost our kindle on the sleeper train from Bukhara Jaloladdin went to great trouble to locate it, have it sent to the guest house and then forward it to us. Nothing was too much trouble...a real home away from home.

A very pleasant stay

The owner and his family were so kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with omelette, pancake, an assortment of bread, jam, butter and tea. Room was spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked perfectly. There’s also a terrace on the rooftop which offers a breathtaking view of the minarets, mosques and sunset.

Incredible location and wonderful staff

The staff at Meros are utterly phenomenal. We had a very special request to have a birthday dinner waiting for our arrival, including cake, and even when our flight was seriously delayed, the staff went very much out of their way to accommodate this request, despite the late hour. The location is just perfect, right inside the walls of the Old City and made everything highly accessible. Additionally, it was perfect for walking around at night. Perhaps the best feature was the amazing rooftop where you can see a great panorama of the Old City at sunset.

The Wifi admittedly was very spotty, but that may be more of a city-wide problem.

Highly recommend!

Friendly staff. Beautiful room Warm shower Location was perfect! The rooms are only lockable from the inside, not the outside. This was not a problem for me as I felt my things were very safe. Some people might not feel comfortable with this though.

Very happy and we would come back again!

The location is perfect, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Breakfast to be improved. There is no need to give the same things to everyone, better ask them first, so that you can save money and time and avoid wasting food. No need to put different economic products on the table, just 1 or 2 types but good quality.

Exceptional

Very beautiful guesthouse, comfortable, good breakfast, good location. The owners helped us to find a driver who took us to Elliq Qala and then to Bukhara for a very affordable price.
