I would recommend anyone to stay here if you are visiting Cairns

I had a great time at Mad Monkey Village. The staff were super friendly and the location is great just a short walk away from the Esplanade and City Centre. The hostel was clean and regularly maintained by a great group of volunteers and full time staff.

Friendly and Welcoming Hostel

Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Everyone was sociable but it was really chilled vibes. The hostel was also clean and had well maintained facilities. Cool travel desk which offered great discounts for all the tours. Had a great stay!

Fab Chilled Hostel

Really enjoyed my short stay at Mad Monkey Village! I was able to store my bags when I arrived mid morning before check - in, the staff were really helpful & their travel desk helped me book some awesome tours in Cairns! They have a great pool area & nice TV room - the hostel was clean and had nice chilled vibes :)

Emplacement très bien, accès à pied au centre 5minutes. Le personnel fait tout son possible pour que l’on soit bien durant notre séjour. Cuisine très équipée. Petit déjeuner copieux.

Great hostel

Has everything you need. Beds are comfortable, good washing machines and dryers, plenty of kitchen utensils, and friendly staff. It is quiet enough for you to relax and still has good social environments in the common areas. Really enjoy this hostel and will be here for the next few months.

My fork and spoon keep falling on the floor due to the holes in the storage crates 😂

Better than expectations, but still needs some improvements

The atmosphere and vibes are great. Staff are amazing and friendly.

The shower in the private suite is not well-maintained. The water flow is very low and water temperature doesn’t stay steady. There is not storage inside the suite. If you plan to go to reef fleet terminal, it’s about 30 minutes walking distance.

Perfect little layover

cute little hostel. we stayed in a private room and it was clean, tidy and comfortable!

Overall, it was a good experience for the price

The bed was comfy, wifi is working well, free brekkie was a bonus

toilet was not as clean as I thought, a bit noisy when there was party at night

Really good vibes all round from the moment we got there til the moment we left!

The location was perfect as it’s a short walk into the city and short walk to the gym so a win win! Breakfast was a great addition for us and they had plenty to chose from which set us up for the day! All the staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay, they were always busy cleaning and tidying the hostel!

That I had to leave 👎🏽

In the room was a sink which was very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is also good, you only need 15 Minutes to the main shopping center (food + clothes) & as well as to the beach

There are way too many people for such a small kitchen. In the evening it was not possible to cook properly because everything was already in use or dirty. There are also not enough seats and sometimes the tables are left really dirty.

Great facilities and location. Clean, tidy and comfortable to stay in. Friendly and helpful staff Good atmosphere and sociable but quiet at night, so ideal if your working. Gym membership, free breakfast included which is a great benefit

Friendly, comfortable place with great staff.

Delicious breakfast, and the staff were really friendly! The outdoor dining area's really nice to hang out in as well, and I like being so close to the ocean.

The fridge room could maybe do with being a little larger, as it was difficult to move around with multiple people using it and finding a place to store my things took some creativity.

staff was very welcoming and always helpful; cool pool area; it was nice to spend the nights with other guests in the common area; breakfast is essential but the pancakes are a nice touch

Would never book again.

Nothing unfortunately.

Basic backpackers hostel. I picked the four room bunk. Room had a weird smell, like wet towel. Realised the room was carpeted and that there was a sink in the room, which probably explains the smell - wet smelly carpet smell. Shower and toilets were outdated and again, had a weird smell. I booked for four days in total but ended up cancelling my last two days. Would rather pay more for better and cleaner facilities.

its super clean, the staff are lovely and helpful and they offer free breakfast everyday along with a free gym pass!
