We had a lovely week with our teens and grandparents. There was plenty to keep all ages entertained and we really enjoyed all that this beautiful house has to offer. The views are incredible and we were able to fish off of the dock.

We stayed here in August 2024. We had 6 adults, 3 teens, and 2 younger kids. There was ample room to spread out or hang out together. The bedrooms were all a nice sizes and no complaints about the beds. The TVs were easy to use with a wide variety to watch. The younger kids brought a playstation and had no issues. The water pressure in showers were great and having 3 for the 11 of us worked out perfect! All of the amenities were accurate in the description. There was a lot of random household items that we used, which saved a bit on what we needed to buy for the house. I find most Air B&B houses have a bare minimum, or nothing to get you started that 1st day before you get out to the store. This was a great family home, looking out for the guests! The yard is small, the pictures dont really show the dimensions of the out back landscapes from the back porch area down to the dock. The yard is absoluetly gorgeous and well maintained. I thought there was more space in the yard for the kids to play because in the pictures it looks that way.. However, we still had fun outside. The hot tub is positioned in a beautiful spot with breathtaking views. The gazebo has timer lights that come on at dusk and makes the view and ambience even better. There are also solar lights leading down the steps to the dock. Not going to lie, steps are brutal. I think there's something like 77 steps. Going down isnt bad but coming up... oh geeze, dont try numerous times in 1 day unless your a kid. Lol.

This is our second time to rent this property. The house is well maintained and checkin and check out process are smooth. Location and view are great. The only thing is the AC is not power enough to cool down the room temperature when we had 100 degrees outside. The porch would be pretty hot in the afternoon since there is no AC.

Breath taking! The place had multiple areas that could accommodate a large group of people ( 10+) to gather in one space, to eat and play.
Many areas indoors to sit and relax. Kitchen and large grill made preparing family meals easy and enjoyable! Outdoors there are multiple areas to sit in the sun, shade, screened in, or in even in the rain!
The dock area/boat house requires many, many steps to reach, but so worth it! Just remember to bring everything down that you may need or want to enjoy swimming, fishing, relaxing, kayaking, etc!

We enjoyed our stay here! They have everything you need to enjoy the lake and the view is breathtaking. Communication with the owners was quick. We had a great time lying out in the sun on the boathouse, kayaking, and hot tubbing. One day it rained all day and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch drinking coffee and watching TV. The game room was a lot of fun, too! We played basketball, Pac-Man, and foosball. We meant to set up ping pong but never got around to it. There was always something to do so you don’t need to go anywhere. The kitchen is well-stocked which we appreciated. Loved having meals together. I would definitely recommend this place.

The location was great and view of the lake from the screened in porch was gorgeous. We spent most of our time on the porch. The main floor is updated and very comfortable. The lower level is a bit dated and in need of some TLC, however, it met our needs for bedrooms/sleeping area. The outside offered many areas to enjoy the view. We enjoyed the firepit and hot tub. The foam float at the dock was a nice bonus for hanging out on the lake. We had some maintenance issues at the start of the vacation but the owner was very responsive and resolved them promptly. Overall, we had great time and would stay again.

We stayed here with my wife and two kids along with my in-laws and we had a great time. The view is gorgeous whether it’s first thing in the morning or watching the sun set! The dock had several kayaks along with a big floating raft which made for relaxing times on the water. Also, there’s a tv in the screened in deck, so we enjoyed an evening movie! Other than than, we had a ton of quality family time and made some great memories. Would definitely recommend!

This place was amazing and we all enjoyed everything about it. When we walked in it smelled so fresh and clean we immediately felt at home. The views from the back were beautiful all day long and we were lucky enough to witness the meteor shower one night from the upstairs deck. This home has so much built in entertainment, never a dull moment. We rented a pontoon and brought 2 of our own jetskis.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Flip Flop house. The owners provide a lot of extras, like outdoor seating, kayaks, and floats. The fishing from the dock was a plus for the children who each were able to catch something.
There were a couple of issues we discovered after our arrival, the owners were quick to respond and notify us when they would be resolved.
The steps to the dock was quite a lot for some of us “seniors” but it provided us with some cardio for the week.

We loved the flip flop inn! Plenty of room for everyone and such a fun game room. Everyone had a blast. Lots of steps to the dock kept us from gaining weight from all of the food and drink! Shady shack and rosemont winery nearby were added extra bonuses.

This was a perfect spot for a quiet girls’ weekend getaway. We were blessed with good weather, but the home has plenty of amenities for a rainy day. We spent most of our time admiring the amazing views from the screened back porch. We loved the property.

Everything was great! The kids had lots to do and the grown up cooked and relaxed! Location was great, nice indoor and outdoor features. We rode bikes, got in the jacuzzi and just hung out!!!

The whole proceeds of staying at the Flip Flop Inn was excellent and so easy! The views of the lake we amazing and the porch and outside accommodations were spectacular. We spent most of the time outside on the screened in porch, in the jacuzzi or playing corn hole! The house had everything we needed and the directions for lights and tv’s were clear and accurate. What an enjoyable long weekend!

We loved our long family weekend here. The view is fantastic, with particularly lovely sunsets from the awesome screened in porch! Our kids loved all the extra games and activities, and everyone loved going between the lake and hot tub (with a wonderful view of its own). We hope to return soon!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property with beautiful views of the lake. The first floor living / recreation area was a huge hit with the 4 teenage boys we had with us for the trip. The boathouse was great to store our 21' boat with direct access to the lake. Love our stay and hope to visit again next year!!

The property location is amazing! I literally cried at how beautiful the lake was when I first walked on the back covered deck. Boat rental is a must! Sun sets are incredible! The house was perfect for my family and we will definitely be back!

We loved our stay at the Flip Flop Inn! We had plenty of space for our family and the views at sunset were spectacular. The basement has a lot of games that were great when the kids were tired of playing in the lake. The owner was very responsive and kind when we had questions or concerns, too!
I gave it 3 stars for cleanliness because the cleaning service skipped some spots before we arrived, but the owner contacted them and I have no doubt the next guests will have a spotless vacation home awaiting them!

Cozy, well-appointed home in a wonderful community
John & Janice were wonderful communicators which helped me plan this trip for 8 girls coming from all areas. There were plenty of beds for everyone to sleep comfortably and the amenities were to die for. We didn't have the best weather but stayed plenty busy with all there was to do at the house and on the lake! The hot tub REALLY came in handy since we couldn't actually swim (too cold!). I really enjoyed being able to use the kayaks and go out for little trips on the lake throughout our stay. Very clean and comfortable, especially the bed in the master room. We have already recommended this place to friends/family.

A superior experience
The property is very well equipped with so many extras! The views are spectacular with very comfortable indoor and outdoor places to relax. Fantastic parking. Fully equipped kitchen. My favorite place in the morning was coffee on tbe screened in porch because the view is unobstructed. At night the jacuzzi and firepit. The wifi was great to do work meetings that could not be avoided. Delicious tap water too. Very responsive host! All our questions were addressed within minutes. Our only challenge was the circular stair case but the outside stairs were a fine alternate. Might be a problem if it rained a lot. We are definitely coming back next year!

Beautiful view, great amenities
My family had a wonderful weekend stay at the flip-flop inn. The view was stunning. We even saw a bald eagle fly overhead! My group spanned the ages of 8-48, and there was fun for everyone here! From the basketball hoops in the basement, to the swings on the boathouse, to the hot tub, there was so much to do. The house was clean and comfortable, plenty of beds and blankets for our group. The kitchen was a little small in proportion, but not bad.

The owner was very responsive since day one. We really enjoyed the view and kids enjoyed the lake. The kitchen has everything you might need. I’ve never been in a place where they ask to bring towels and linens but it was written in the guidelines so we brought. We definitely would come back.

Beautiful view of Lake Gaston
Gorgeous views especially from the master bedroom & outdoor spaces. The kitchen is not big but is well-appointed with whatever you may need. Was lovely to sit in the hot tub and take in the views. It's a little bit of a hike down to the boat ramp but you are rewarded with a nice breeze and swings to take it all in. Game room was good for the kids and had plenty of room for the whole family. Highly recommend.

Beautiful views at the Flip Flop Inn
This was my first time renting a Lake house at Lake Gaston. My kids, grandkids and myself really enjoyed it. The Flip Flop Inn has great views of the lake and beautiful sunset views.
On the top level they have a nice size gas grill outside of the screened in porch which you can watch all the boats and water skiers go by while you grill out.
Downstairs they have so many games, Wii System, Foosball, Pop a Shot Basketball game, Dart Board, Pac Man, Donkey Kong and other games on the machine and a Ping Pong table which my grandkids played on most of the time. They have a nice firepit which my grandkids made smores from at night time. Also a really nice Hot Tub to relax in. They even have a outdoor shower there. And I might add a lot of seating for everyone and Hammock's outside at the house and at the boat dock.
And there is also a Gazebo on the way down to the boat dock.
The floating boat dock is 2 stories and they have everything down there that you need to enjoy the lake with. My son's fished off of it and one day a boat stopped by and gave them some fish that they had caught that day.
We all had a great time and looking forward to going back again.

Beautiful Lake Views plus a family fun dock and house!
We have rented many homes on vrbo and we have never had an owner as kind and responsive as John was! He was so quick to answer our questions and was very helpful with anything we needed. The house was a great fit for our family vacation. The 6 bedrooms were nice so everyone had their space. We absolutely loved the outdoor space and spent much of our time down at the water. The 2 story dock has hammocks, swings, kayaks, chairs, tubes & everything you need to enjoy lake life! We loved the views from the hot tub and the sunsets were gorgeous!
Lake Gaston is just beautiful and we would definitely go back. Thanks again John for opening up your home to us. God bless

Great location but needs loads upkeep
My family and I had a great time at the lake house. That said this was obviously (maybe at the time the photos were taken) a very nice place that has been neglected and used just for rental income. The upstairs beds and bath were very nice but the kitchen and the rest of the property need some serious love. The yard was unkept with very tall grass. The stairs (97 of them) to the dock are rickety. Broken cabinets in the kitchen held together with a hair tie. The gazebo is rickety.
The house wasn’t really clean, slop on the kitchen cabinets and pee down the front and sides of the toilets. Sticky floors etc. The house has a central vacuum that would be cool if it worked, a regular vacuum that’s brush didn’t work and a giant rattty corn broom from1970 to sweep the floors.
The trash situation is terrible, crappy old trash cans held shut with bungy cords from 1960 that the critters can easily get into and spread your trash everywhere. Oh! And you have the pleasure of taking your trash to the “dump” which is a horrific hell hole. There is no trash pickup (although there could be if the owners paid for it).
Ok so on to the good. There is a ton of stuff for kids to do inside and out. Tons of games. The dock is awesome and with kayaks and a ton of cool stuff. The kids had a blast.
This place would be amazing with some upkeep and some god bless trash service and decent trash cans.

Beautiful home with lots to do
What a picturesque place to stay! The house was well stocked with lots to do. There were games, movies, kayaks, and the game room downstairs was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen had everything we could need. The rooms are nicely decorated and the master bed was SO comfortable. Everyone else said they were very comfortable too. It was a little inconvenient to have to bring all our own sheets and towels, but doable. The only thing I could have wished for was a few life jackets available (especially kid size) for use on the kayaks or just spending time on the dock since the water off the dock is so deep. I mistakenly assumed that with kayaks, there would be a few available and should have checked with the host prior to coming. All in all we had a wonderful time and highly recommend this property!
