We always have a great time in Canaan and C R Mountain Home was wonderful. It was clean and very quiet. Only suggestion I have is that there needs to be a guide on how to use the AC unit. We could not figure it out, but fortunately it did not get too hot, so we were ok. Last year when we stayed at Paradise Falls, we had the same experience. Instructions would be helpful. Thank you!

This place is always clean, simple to check in and out of, superbly located. Kitchen is stocked properly and beds are comfortable enough.Only downside is that the hottub has not worked for 2 years (it works but does not go above probably mid-90s, even though the temperature gage on the tub will tell you it is maxed out at 104). Kind of a bummer. Wish they would fix it, as we're certainly not the the only people who mentioned this and desire it for use while staying.

We can't say enough about this lovely home. Very clean, spacious, comfortable beds, great showers, cozy decor, good location for hiking the nearby trails. We LOVED the family room with it's gas fireplace, comfy rockers, and great views. Also enjoyed the hot tub (appreciated the beach towels provided) and fire pit (bring your own wood). The Mountain Owl Market down the road is a great stop for grabbing lunch/coffee. Can't go wrong renting this home. Our family looks forward to returning.

We've been coming to the Valley with family for 35 years and just had another great time. With the Valley's expansion, there are so many different things to do, places to eat and places to explore. Lots of activities, along with relaxation for all members of the family from 80 years old to three years old!! An added plus is the house is always immaculate. Already looking forward to coming down next year.

Very clean and cozy rental….we had issues with the hot tub not working but got it fixed on the second day of our stay. Only issue I wasn’t happy with was that the refrigerator filter was expired and upon contacting The Best of Canaan (managers of the rental) the lady at the desk wasn’t receptive at all and acted bothered that I called her to ask about a replacement filter. If they are going to managing the rental for the house owners they need to have these things in stock…needless to say, we had to go buy bottled water for the entire week bc they never replaced the filter.

Perfectly situated between Thomas/Davis and Dolly Sods and Elkins, this home provides a quiet, relaxing base for all of your mountain activities. Can't say enough about the furnishings, beds and linens, fireplace, gas stove, washer and dryer, dishwasher, view from the porch and two and 1/2 baths! The kitchen is well provisioned - you should bring your own lotions and shower gel, paper products, cooking oils and seasonings. The golf course at Canaan Valley is challenging but great - walking or with cart! Many excellent restaurants nearby include Sirianni's in Davis for their pizza, The FORK in Elkins, Farm up Table in Thomas and countless others in the local area. If you ski, CR Mountain Home is located right next to Timberline. Donna and her crew at Best of Canaan have brochures to guide you to attractions and will send you 10 pages of things to do in the local area. Highly recommend Mountain Rail WV excursions -- the New Tygart Flyer and Cass Scenic Railroad. SO much to do, SO little time!! Enjoy!

Place and everything was great. About the only thing we can say is that it missed some of the homely feel of other places as there was no coffee, a few treats or anything. Those aren’t important though, just some nice touches. The place was great, clean, and quiet! Highly recommended!

Check-in and check was a breeze. 2 minutes to the slopes, 10 minutes to Davis, 10 minutes to Canaan Valley. Very convenient and comfortable. Hot tub was clean and ready when we pulled in. Great place and hope to return.

This is our second year at this wonderful home but it won't be the last! Centrally located, it offers ready access to Davis, Thomas, the Canaan Resort, Elkins, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls. C R Mountain Home gave us an incredible vacation. The home was well maintained and immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen spacious. The surrounding area has gorgeous hiking, but when it rained, we were very content in this home. The hot tub is a little buggy in one pump but was very fun. The view is only lovely, not majestic, but the rest of the home's condition makes up for it. Our kids thought this house was the best part of our vacation!

Great home and comfortable layout.
We enjoyed our stay very much and found the layout of the home to be very comfortable and the location a great one for taking in area trails for hiking and mt biking. Neighbors are close by, not as easy to see in pictures, but it was fine.
We’ve not used VRBO before so were surprised that some things weren’t in the home, like hotel sized shampoos, coffee, plastic wrap or foil in the kitchen. It didn’t matter at all, we were prepared and there’s a small store nearby, but if you’re going you might want to know that.
We loved the house and exploring the area and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful winter getaway
We enjoyed the layout, the amenities, the location and especially the hot tub of this property. It’s proximity to hiking at Canaan in the snow, walking distance to Timberline and a short drive to Davis for dining and the sled run at Blackwater Falls State Park made this the perfect vacation spot for our family. We have come to the area multiple times and this property made us feel spoiled with all it had to offer. Hope to be back again.

Great experience despite the inconvenience of having our car stuck in the driveway due to the 5" of snow on top of icy conditions. The ladies in the office were very helpful and sent someone to plow the driveway and then put down some gravel so we could get out. The house was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals. Although the refrigerator was too cold and a couple of our items started to freeze! The hot tub was such a nice treat after skiing each day.

Great Escape
My husband and I, with our adult son, had a wonderful escape to Canann Valley and staying at C R Mountain Home! We enjoyed the hot tub every evening, cooked our own fun meals, relaxed around the fireplace, took long walks, and even went on a horseback ride!! We cannot recommend this home and the Best of Canann Resort facilities any higher. The place was beautiful and when we needed anything they were there on the double, even on a holiday week.

We found the property to be very clean and well equipped. The open floor plan provided a nice area for us to gather. It was easy to baby proof for our 1 year old. The fire place was kept us cozy at night. The property is well kept and a pleasant home in which to spend a week. The location provides easy access to hiking and other activities in the area. This is a beautiful home! It is tastefully decorated, extremely clean and positioned perfectly for beautiful sunsets. The house is equipped with everything you need to cook, bake and relax. This house was perfectly cleaned and as safe as can be!! There's a new grill and a hot tub if you want to relax. For us, renting a lovely place is a safe way to get away! We took our own pre-cooked meals; hiked and walked at Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls; and shopped at the Buxton and Landstreet Gallery in Thomas and at Artists at Work in Elkins. The house is perfectly located between all of the Canaan Valley sites! The folks at Best of Canaan are SO easy to work with - I've rented from them for years.
