About this house rental
Dog friendly with the convenience of a fenced yard, this newly renovated 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is on a quiet street and only a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and steps to the intracoastal waterway. The inverted floor plan makes the most of the spectacular waterway views AND has a master bedroom with attached bathroom on each floor! We also offer a beautiful in-ground pool (14'x30'). Mermaid Lagoon sleeps 10, including a bunk bed and trundle bed, so you can comfortably accommodate the whole family. A Pack and Play in the downstairs closet. Amenities include: 2 children's scooters a few beach chairs, sand toys, and a beach cart to carry them. Enclosed outdoor shower and propane grill are ready for your use. Have lunch by the pool or relax in the many wonderful spaces on this property. After fishing on the pier and public dock (only steps away) , soak in the view from one of the large porches. Plenty of parking in the driveway and under the house.
Within easy walking distance is the ice cream shop, several restaurants, a fresh seafood market and fishing pier. Walk to the bandstand for weekly entertainment during the summer season.

The Mermaid Lagoon had everything we needed for our stay. Loved the layout of the house, loved the pool, loved all the beach and pool toys. Had a memorable vacation for our whole family.

The only problem we had was the code never worked in the door for access. When we arrived the cleanup crew was still there so we didn’t need the code. The first time we all left and locked up the front door would not open. Thankfully we had left a back door unlocked.

This was our second time staying at Mermaid Lagoon we had a group of 5-6 adults. We find the house very well set up for our activities, beach, pool and paddle boarding. It is close enough to walk to the beach and close to water access to paddle in the intercostal. Everyone had options and the house was clean and well equipped. Look forward to coming back!

We stayed at Mermaid Lagoon with our family of five and my brother-n-law in June of ‘23. This was our 3rd or 4th time at Holden Beach, but our first time staying away from the beach and having a pool.
The house was exactly as described and great! We all enjoyed the pool and the walk to the beach was only a few minutes.
This house is also close to restaurants/bars and the ice cream shop.

Really enjoyed our stay! Was just the right amount for the adults and kids! The pool was a hit from the get go! Only suggestion would be to add mattress toppers for cushion & swap out the metal beds in kids room. Other than that everything was perfect and would definitely rent again!

Great Family Vacation Location
This was a wonderful home for our family to gather in. We enjoyed the open floor plan upstairs and the large front porch where we could all gather. The pool was large enough for 10 of us. The boys enjoyed the fishing dock across the street, and was a great place for us to meet before the house was ready for us on arrival day. We enjoyed the quiet/safe neighborhood.

Family Beach trip
This was my husband’s and my first time to Holden but our son and his family had been there several times. The correspondence with the owner and property manager of the Mermaid Lagoon were superior!! The house was very well supplied and we loved the pool. We wish it had been closer to the beach but it was doable as one person dropped us off with all our “beach stuff” and then walked back. That being said we loved the front porch where we enjoy watching the boats sail by on the Intercoastal and the magnificent sunsets! Everything was perfect but other than the king bed the other beds were a bit uncomfortable and the living room sofas are bit dated. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend Mermaid Lagoon!

We all enjoyed the Mermaid Lagoon. It was very clean and had everything you needed in the kitchen and for the pool and ocean. The view of the intercoastal was nice to see the boats coming and going. The beach was an easy walk and the ocean was fabulous! So nice to take a break and swim in the pool as well.
Linda was very responsive and great to work with. We hope to return!

Fabulous Family Vacation
Perfect in every way!! Communication was great! Exactly as advertised the pool was amazing. It was the best house for all ages. From the ripe old age if 78 all the down way to 1 1/2.
The walk to the beach wasn’t a complaint, even for a 3 yr old. It was FABULOUS, can’t wait to go back!!

A perfect outing
The reservation was made at the last minute. It was everything that I needed it to be. My sister and her family joined for the Labor Day weekend. My partner and I had to the place to ourselves for the week. The pool was awesome, a short walk to restaurants and the beach.

Wonderful home
We had a wonderful stay. The owners were very responsive to our needs, which we appreciated very much.
The layout of the house was perfect. We LOVED LOVED LOVED that we could easily walk to dinner each night. The sound views are amazing. I also loved having my morning coffee on the front porch watching the boats on the sound and listening to the birds, it was very relaxing. The pool was our nightly hangout which was awesome.
I would point out just two things-two of the “adult” bedrooms do not have televisions in them. Not a big deal to me, but it seemed to be to our adult children, lol. The other is the beds. If you’re used to sleeping in a luxury bed, you may not get the best sleep. But who goes to the beach to watch TV and sleep???

We had high expectations prior to coming down because of the location and photos we looked at, and we were so pleased when we drove up to the property. On e we entered the house and looked around we were in a vacation Heaven. We had great weather, the pool was our favorite thing to enjoy, the beach was close,, we stayed at the house mostly because it felt like our home. We thank you so much for letting us stay!

Great time with faimly
The house was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable, the pool was wonderful, time went too fast! We loved every moment of our vacation at Holden Beach, just wish the weather was better, but even with the rain we loved the quiet relaxing vibe of the island. The kids loved being able to bike to the slushy shop for a treat or bike to the beach. Highly recommend for a family that just wants some family time. Enjoyed the free concert on Sunday night- perfect start to the vacation.

Great time in Holden beach this property is in a great location centrally located close to restaurants, water, ice cream and candy shops. The house was very clean and comfortable. It is on a dead end street so very quiet with limited traffic which was awesome for my grandchildren to ride bikes and scooters. The pool is such a great addition. First time in Holden beach we definitely will be returning.

September stay at Mermaid Lagoon
Excellent location in Holden Beach and walking distance to several restaurants. We had a wonderful stay for 8 days with family and friends. The house and pool are as represented in the pictures and listing. Giving four out of five stars due to the comfort of the furniture and beds. There really isnt enough living room furniture to accommodate the house and the beds were very uncomfortable. Adults should not plan on sleeping in the bunk bed room and the master bed was the only halfway decent mattress.

Great, well-stocked home and kitchen with convenient floor plan. Looks better in person, pretty decor. The pool is terrific with convenient deck area and outdoor furniture. Great location to many places but quieter, less crowded part of the beach. Loved the rocking chair front porch. Close walk to beach access but rented a golf cart and found less busy beach access points with golf cart parking.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mermaid’s Lagoon!! Morgan was so wonderful and responsive to any questions we had and kept us up to date as we were heading to Holden Beach post Hurricane Isaias. Mermaids Lagoon has everything you need for the perfect family vacation!! They have truly thought of everything in this beautiful vacation home!! We really enjoyed coffee on the upper decks watching the boats on the inter coastal waterway, all the little touches like the games and books provided and of course the POOL!!! The house is a short walk to the beach, restaurants, the coffee shop (which I highly recommend), Sunset Slush and the Sandcastles candy store. The house was clean, well appointed, and very organized!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful beach home!! We can’t wait to come back again!!

We all had an awesome time and are actually contemplating using your house again
The only thing I would change is to make sure there was extra linen available there were extra pillows in the closet but no pillowcases for them and there was no sheet for the trundle part of the daybed which we needed with the amount of people we had. We were given the sheet and pillowcase that we needed when we called but we had to go more than a day without it and we feel it should’ve been there when we arrived
