We were very lucky to have been welcomed into Jeans home for our visit, and would return happily.

The location, the shower pressure, the bed, the breakfast, the wifi , the host were all fabulous and we dont think you could improve on them

We would have felt more at home with more nodern decor. But we understand this is jeans home and dont think she should change any of it for guests.

Disappointing

I'm afraid I didn't stay here. And I felt bad for the host. I was a solo traveller, I had imagined this was close to the water and it was close to a road which is convenient if you were travelling by bus. There is no phone signal which worried me as a solo traveller, and not for nearly another mile away.just in case you chose to leave . I arrived to a cat walking past the property with a rat in its mouth. Small one. There is no view from the room. It's a dramatic setting . But you are better served in a car. There were no other guests staying there . They had cancelled. There are several houses next door and close by , there were some very excited and barking dogs in the windows in the house next door which I found off putting. I chose not to stay at the property. I think it would be a more inviting place to arrive at if the windows had been cleaned.

Great location, and lots to like, but breakfast a bit lacking

Fabulous location. Great walk up Helvellyn straight from the lodge without having to use the car. Friendly, chatty owner Nice, clean property

Breakfast wasn’t the best. Not a fan of tinned fruit salad, and was served inedible, cheap croissants. The toast on the plate was also lathered in butter, which I don’t like.

A great place to stay

This stay was booked for a work employee, he really enjoyed the stay , the place was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was superb and the host was really lovely.

Mess in the room and unpleasant smell. Bugs and spiders all over the room, including in bed. It took me an hour to get rid of the bugs in bed. Room definitely needs deep cleaning before anybody can sleep in there.

The host was so hospitable and friendly and gave such a warm welcome. The guest house was very well appointed and full of unique charm. I would certainly recommend it and will book again.

A lovely place for a short stay in the Lakes.

This was a lovely B&B in a great location - near Keswick, Grasmere and Ambleside. It was a good price and the breakfast was great. The owner was very friendly. It was perfect for a couple of nights in the Lakes. And parking is always a bonus! Would definitely recommend.

Nestled in the foothills of Helvelyn, by Thirlmere Lake and near Keswick, this is a gem of a location, with a waterfall nearby. Nothing is too much trouble for Jean who is very kind. Her family has been farming these hills for generations and she has much knowledge of sheep farming, meadows and haymaking, and dry stone wailing. The rooms back onto the foothills full of healthy looking herdwicks. There is everything you need in the beautiful room, including good WiFi connection. The breakfast room is lovely and the food wholesome. Would highly recommend.

Cosy and good location

Breakfast was fantastic and the location is good for Keswick and Grasmere. We could only stay one night, this B&B allowed this. Very good bed

The decor is a little bit old fashioned, but saying that the room was cosy.

Lovely area, pleasant host, bountiful breakfasts and good facilities.

Small TV - so bring a book or watch off your laptop; the WiFi is good so you're all set!

Very traditional Cumbrian farm b&b ...It had everything in the room you could want , maybe " old school " but I like that .
