Very pleasant stay after arrival, but the background needs a lot of improvement

After checking in, the property was indeed worth the all-inclusive badge. All meals, a la carte restaurants, events and drinks (alcohol-containing and not) were included, unlike some other all-inclusive resorts I have previously visited. The only event that was not free of charge, was the Dominican Fiesta, still only 20 USD per person and well worth the price. The buffet meals were mostly better than the reservation restaurants, not to forget lovely waiter Francis and his regularly smile-triggering chicken-beeping during customer service. The entertainment team was just amazing. Finally, but not lastly, their Bahia Principe marketing dance song is giant success. I was still singing it after having long returned home from the vacation.

The beach is slightly further away from the Grand Aquamarine resort area where we booked our room. Also, the Mikado Japanese Restaurant and Tepanyaki show was a HUGE disappointment, hardly anything related to Japan, started 40 min late, little and average rather Chinese cheap streetfood with a ridiculous cook. The resort meets the "relaxed" Latin-American mentality. You never know what will go different than expected or even wrong, but they will do their best to help and sometimes succeed, too :-) These were not big issues for us though. However, there was one huge disappointment. The resort needs to be paid in advance and they do send a link to the payment after reservation via the booking website, which unfortunately removed the link and hence we could not pay. We tried contacting them in every possible way without any response, while we were getting daily reminders about the payment and being noticed that the reservation will be canceled. Very unpleasant justa few days before arrival with a 1800€ total price. Customer service on phone was located in Spain and they were very unfriendly, not caring and a huge flop.

Not much good to say. Totally terrible experience.

The property is simply terrible. Its very far from the beach (maybe 15 mins walk) and you need to always wait for their stupid golf cart to go anywhere. We moved to Luxury Ambar in 1 day for a significantly more amount on top of the original amount. The Ambar is a lot better and that has mostly everything good (maybe 7-8 out of 10 rating). This Aquamarine property is very dated, fixtures dont work well, bad furniture, terrible food, worst service everywhere. The main desk phone was also not working from the room, and the management simply doesn't care. Lied about room service. Overall experience a little above Motel 6 quality.

I'll Be Back!

Actually we upgraded from Aquamarine, which was an older side, to the renovated Luxury Ambar which is more modern. L.A. and the overall general property is beautiful. Overall I love this place. Its one of my favorites.

Only drawback was they no longer allow you to eat at all the properties, which are all connected. You can shop in the stores, walk thru the lobbies but you cant even get a drink while you are walking through. . So even though there are multiple extensions of the property and multiple restaurants you were kept eating in your complex only. That was disappointing.

Overall Great Stay

Great facilities and people are very nice. The room is spacious and has everything you would need. I highly recommend M.E.A.T restaurant, we enjoyed it.

The food was average, the restaurants were a hit or miss. Beware that while it is an all inclusive resort, anything extra you would like to purchase or experience costs a pretty penny.

Beautiful experience on a wonderful property made exceptional by the staff!

Absolutely stunning property, amenities were incredible and the staff were the BEST. Truly a wonderful experience.

The free wifi is really shoddy. I wasn’t on my phone much at all, but it made checking the QR codes for a la cart restaurants tricky.

Access to every hotel on the property Pool was beautiful Room was ok bathroom was updated but beds were very hard.

Beds were hard, staff was rude except at the pool and beach and food was less than desirable. There was a 6 inch roach crawling on our dinner table as we were finishing dessert😩

Nice getaway

Property is very beautiful and it is huge. If you’re there less than 5 days you won’t see everything. Lots of shops and bars.

Drinks seemed to be a bit watered down and the food was mediocre. Staff was friendly but a lot spoke little to no English so prepare for that.

The staff was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING from the buffet staff to the drivers to the entertainment - everyone treated us like family. I loved that there was always something to do whether relax or party there was always something for everyone

We loved the beach but the last day there was a lot of seaweed. It's not their fault, and we still got in the water.

I didn't like the fact that one of the plastic cups where they serve the beer was dirty(slimy) very disgusting. They ran out of glasses very easily and then they rush to clean them and don't do a good job. That was the only inconvenient we had.

Not great, it's ok.

Having all inclusive is great and the price you pay for it of course is also good. I did not have high expectations, I knew that it was a good deal. The beach access was good, having food and alcohol included of course is good as well. This was my first time in an all inclusive.

Well, understanding that the price I paid is not high, however the rooms were old and dirty, hotel staff did not speak english most of the time. The shuttle system is confusing and they don't operate early mornings, so if you book some tours outside of the hotel be prepared to walk a lot in a rush. They don't allow external cars on the property so your transport would have to meet you outside the gate which is like 20 min walk.

Great time, good place to get away to and the Beach is great.

The place is nice. The beach is great. The people are friendly. The buffet is good. The rooms are ok, big could use a little update but i think more than ok for sleeping. I really did like staying here.

Air condition was not so great. People saving chairs at the beach make it hard to find a chair. some don't show up for hours or even show up.
